Seiko Prospex Solar Chronograph Speedtimer Watch SSC819P1
Seiko announced themselves on the international sports timing stage in the 1960's with a whole new range of high-precision equipment that was used to capture the elapsed time of many major sporting events across the globe. In 1969, the Seiko Speedtimer was introduced with it's innovative technologies that are still a staple in high function chronographs to this day. The shape of the 39mm case keeps true to the original but at the same time has a modern feel with a combination of smooth and hairline polishing on the bracelet, and the curved sapphire glass. The dial is extremely legible thanks to it's sandblasted finish, so has that crucial readability that is so important for a Prospex sports watch. This watch is powered by V192 Calibre solar movement, features a 60 minute chronograph inside a subdial at 6 o'clock, a 24 hour indicator and a time of the day seconds hand.

Watchia had a watch that was in high demand and sold out in all stores. As a watch enthusiast I am always impatient when waiting on a new watch, but shipping was fast and directly to my door. I am very happy with this experience, and this is not the first, nor the last time I will be shopping from Watchia. Only bummer was that the watch was on sale at the Danish site (and considerably cheaper), but not at the Norwegian.... Go figure. Not much to say about the watch itself. It's one of four 1969 Speedtimer re-creations. The watch is gorgeous and beautifully built for it's price range.

So glad to get one of these at an amazing price from Starbuy. Seiko really got this one right. The 39mm case is perfect for this style and will look good on any size wrist. Fit and finish is excellent. It looks good on the standard bracelet but alternatively a thick leather strap or even rubber suits it nicely too. This panda dial is a future Seiko classic.

Seiko has produced a great looking and at 40mm case width, a well proportioned chronograph for most wrists. The case finishing is good but I was disappointed that the metal bracelet looked generic and didn't really match the rest of the watch. I wear mine on an after-market leather strap and it looks great - a real 'strap monster' as coined by some. Thankfully Seiko has given the Speedtimer a sapphire crystal rather than their own more scratch prone 'Hardlex' so it should look good for a long time and be resistant to minor scrapes and knocks. The solar powered movement does take some time to charge up (don't expect the watch to start running straight out of the box) but once fully charged it will last for months in normal use - the indicator on the lower sub-dial ... MoreSeiko has produced a great looking and at 40mm case width, a well proportioned chronograph for most wrists. The date window is a bit deep and can be hard to read at certain angles. Just to be clear, the description says Silver/Blue - this is actually the white/black 'Panda' version and not the blue dial which has a different reference number. Overall though a good package which, in my view, is just about worth the full retail price.

Bought as a gift.Great watch, nice packaging but be aware this doesn't come with the certificate of guarantee, which you'll need if there's any issues with the watch performance. I bought online in the sale, but ended up returning item to Myer and buying direct from Seiko who provided top notch service and of course, the certificate and 5 years coverage, instead of 3.Seiko even told me that it is more difficult to lodge a claim for defects when buying through third party and even services such as strap adjustment are not free when bought through a third party store, so just something to consider.I decided i would rather pay the extra and have better service and peace of mind especially when making an expensive purchase.
Sub Dials are not as blue as I expected, but it's such a good looking and wearable watch for me.Everything lines up perfectly and the bracelet fitted me well once adjusted.Solar power is a good option for a quartz I feel.Stopwatch second hand sweeps, and it can be used for split times.
I was impressed about the next day delivery service and the 10% discount offer. I presented the watch on Saturday morning and arrived to my home on Sunday morning!I requested FCW to adjust to my wrist size (18cm) and fit perfectly! The Seiko box was protected number of layers so no worries about damages l.Highly recommended for another Seiko watch.
Excellent watch with great vintage vibes. Thought was a bit small but this is in line with the vintage look. After wearing for a few days the size is spot on. Great high quality free gift too!
Very happy with this easy to use, highly legible speedtimer. The 39mm size for me makes this a very wearable watch and because it's Solar Quartz it is very accurate and has little or no servicing costs to think about in the future. The bracelet is very comfortable and suits the style perfectly.
Seiko are making some great watches again with these latest Speedtimer. The Panda dial is a looker and stands out from crowd. The Solar Quartz movement are accurate. 39mm case is the perfect size to fit most wrist. Watch Direct was nice and quick with delivery.
This really is a beautiful looking watch. But it is not perfect; Getting a good fit on the wrist is a bit difficult as there are only two micro-adjust holes in the clasp. The bracelet is of good quality, but it was obviously an afterthought.....it does not really match the brushing of the watch case. Is it worth the MSRP of $675? No, I dont think so. But I did get an awesome price on eBay. So I am very satisfied.
