The SRPE51 is a winner. It has the 4R36 Seiko day/date movement. This is the exact same movement as found in other Seiko watches costing up to 3X the price of the SRPE51. The Grey sunburst dial is beautiful. The brushed and polished case is beautifully crafted. The Hardlex crystal is very crisp and clear and looks bigger than it is due to lack of a movable bezel. The handset looks very nice and the seconds hand sweeps close to the indices for ease of telling time. The Seiko lume is spectacular as always. The only negative is the bracelet. It looks nice but has hollow links. I plan to upgrade the bracelet which will make this watch that matches well with other watches costing hundred of dollars more. In short, the SRPE51 fits the bill for both dress or casual, looks good, has a proven work horse movement and punces wat above its weight class .

I've had this watch for about a week now and I am extremely satisfied! I purchased this as a daily wear for my upcoming job as a mechanic, and from my experience so far I think it will hold up quite well. The bracelet was very comfortable and was easy to resize for my smaller wrist by removing a couple links. The lume on the dial is easy to read for about 30-45 mins in total darkness.I am very satisfied with the day/date function as well as the polishing on the case and bracelet. The price is so low for a watch of such quality! I will definitely be adding another seiko to my budding collection when possible!

I've have watches before, mostly quartz. But this watch is beautiful and dipping my toes into automatic watches, this was the great first watch to start the collection. Quality control could use improvement. My dial wasn't "perfectly aligned" but I would recommend day after day!

Great looking watch. Luminous dials ez to see at night. BUT DOES NOT KEEP TIME!!! First one I received lost at least a minute a day. Returned and now gains at least a minute a day. I realize automatics are not precise like a quartz, but have others, some MUCH cheaper that keep great time.Uh, why do I have a watch? Japanese make and movement. C'mon. This is nuts IMO. VERY disappointed. Sorry. My experience anyway.
I'm a watch nerd. I buy watches because I like them. That said, I have several Swiss watches and still love this one. This clean piece gives so much bang for the buck. It has a fantastic bracelet and beautiful lines. It wears as advertised at 40mm. The gold highlights snatch the light and sparkle but the entire package is very subtle and soft-spoken. Fellow watch nerds see it and insist on getting to look at it and are usually shocked by the affordability. The styling is timeless and able to diversify. The quality is amazing and it holds time well within COSC specs. Buy it. You won't regret it.
The size of this Seiko 5 is described as 40mm, but my measurement indicates 39, which fits my taste perfectly. Also not thick nor "chunky". The watch fits wearing for any occasion and will accommodate various bands if you want to change it. I replaced the stainless band with a rubber strap. The watch can be had in subtly accented black dial with gold or silver accents Also comes with a blue or blackout dial, so you have choices. Mine is accurate to about 3 seconds per day. But the interesting thing is that if one day it is 3 seconds fast I lay it down on its side overnight and it loses the 3 seconds overnight. I have only reset it once in 3 weeks as it was fast by 11 seconds before I realized how to compensate. The watch can be hacked and wound via the crown. The lume is typical Seiko 5, phenominal, as lume will last thru the night. Highly recommended.
I was looking for a watch that was nice, but not too huge or flashy. This watch is beautiful and fits perfectly (after having a few links taken out) and is very understated and functional. The hands and hour-markers glow all night long and are very easy to read. I've only had the watch a week, but it seems to keep perfect time, and it's nice to know I'll never need to replace a battery. Really a nice watch and very affordable.
This was a great purchase at a nice discount offered by the FIRSTCLASSWATCHES. Although not in stock at the time of purchase, the correspondence was simple, clear and up to date. The item arrived sooner then expected, already adjusted the bracelet at no extra cost from the company. Well packaged and in pristine condition. Loads of other items I wish I had the money to buy from this company. I will definitely keep an eye on it for any new and updated offers. Highly recommend the seller as I had a very pleasant experience.
Bought this 4 months ago and it's a winner. This watch looks fantastic in a suit or office attire on the metal bracelet or dressed down for casual style with a leather band or a NATO strap. Power reserve is about 40 plus hours, winds hacks and as an automatic keeps great time. The case shape is really well developed as it allows for a low profile for under the sleeve and the drilled end-lugs make strap swap-outs a snap. I have 6.75" wrists and this fits great. The bracelette is adequate but there are aftermarket options now for this model. For the money this is a super value everyday watch that simply looks great, Seiko hit a home run with this - In short .... buy this watch, you won't be disappointed.
The watch looks and feels great and was a hit as a gift. One surprise: it wasn't indicated anywhere online, but the day indicator is Spanish! (Instead of mo, tu, we, etc, it displays lu, ma, mi, etc.) This is fine, esp since my husband speaks Spanish. Less fine: after being taken off for several days it stopped! We're going to look into exchange or repair, as the watch is so nice we'd like to keep, but it's disappointing.
