Chapter ring/dial/bezel insert misalignment

Good service but give me the right paperwork!

I bought this watch on sale and I feel I got a good deal. It's a very nice watch and is known by the Seiko aficianados as "the turtle" (kind of looks like one). However, this is the second Seiko I bought from Macy's, and neither time did I get the proper paperwork that normally comes with a new watch (warranty booklet, owner's manual). I think they just take all the paperwork when the watch comes in and throw it in a cabinet, and then give you whatever they have lying around when you make the purchase. Why can't they just leave it in the box so you get the specific paperwork for that watch? Seems simple enough.

For years I’ve been buying watches from Target that usually last a year or two, then it’s wore out. This was my first big boy watch and man I have been missing out! This watch in particular is very great looking, but not too flashy. You can tell the quality is high and this thing is built to last. Really good power reserve too, I take it off to sleep but it hasn’t died on me yet; it probably helps that I wear it every day. This vendor is also really solid. The video reviews are incredibly helpful and they should be, because these watches aren’t cheap and you should know what you’re getting. I have no qualms about ordering from here again.

I Love This Watch!
2 February 2021

Ok. I bought my first Seiko diver (7002) in 1991. That thing has taken a real beating, but still works fabulously and I wear it whenever I have rough work to do. It's a tank.I've been looking at a new Seiko diver for quite a while. I saw the new Turtle and really started researching. I saw numerous reviews of the SRP777, and more specifically, sales and service provided by Island Watch. As soon as it was available, I ordered one. Outside of using my original Seiko 7002 for outside work, my current watch rotation is a rotation of one!I love my new Seiko SRP777! It looks great, the weight is perfect and it keeps great time. Also, the only place I plan to order any other watches or parts is Island Watch. I am an extremely happy customer.

Near perfect daily beater dive watch

The only issue is the bezel insert. Its misaligned by just a little, but this is common for Seiko watches in this price range. Easy fix. Every other aspect is spot on, easily my favorite dive watch so far. The crown effortlessly screws down, unlike an Orient mako II I had to return with a painful to use screw down crown. The size is spot on for my 7.25 wrist, the cushion case is incredibly comfortable. The bezel action is effortless. Im not a fan of the chunky strap it comes on, but with an Olive nato strap it feels perfect to me. The design is so unique and bold, not classy but utilitarian, very much a tool watch with a military diver vibe. I wanted a Seiko automatic watch that can handle a rough life outdoors and swimming in the pool. With a strong screw down ... MoreThe only issue is the bezel insert. This really fits the bill, I hope to add many scratches and dings over the years to top it off.

Personally I blame 4k TV and blu-ray (bare with me on this one). I had watched Apocalypse Now a dozen times before but it was only after seeing it in glorious high definition that I noticed what Capt Willard (Martin Sheen) was wearing on his left wrist."What make of watch is that and where can I get one?" After a brief search online I found pages and forums dedicated to the legendary Seiko 6105-8110. I was not the first to fall in love with this classic time piece and with original ones changing hands in excess of £1000, I would have to love from afar. After some late night trawling online, I bid on and won a Seiko 6309-7040 in excellent working order. A beautiful looking watch, recently serviced and with mostly original parts. But I still wasn't happy; I wanted something special, something 100% original, I wanted to experience that moment where you open the box and reveal the prize. I wanted a watch from new, to call my own, something that could become an heirloom.I found that special something when I visited the First Class Watches website and decided on the Seiko SRP777K1. I was amazed when my order arrived the following day, with first class communication and regular updates on arrival time. My parcel arrived on time as promised. Finally, I got to experience that unboxing moment - Christmas day in June! I was not disappointed, it was everything I thought it would be.Not only can the SRP777K1 trace its origin all the way back to the 6105 through the 6309, but it is a gorgeous looking watch in its own right. The cushion shaped case in addition to the silicon strap makes it extremely comfortable to wear. Solid yet not too heavy - this watch is designed and built for scuba diving but is stylish enough to be worn for formal occasions. If you're looking for a diver's watch, if you love Seiko watches, and if you want something with a bit of history to it, then I would highly recommend the Seiko Mens Prospex Automatic Turtle Diver Watch Black SRP777K1 from First Class Watches. It still feels like Christmas day every time I open the box.

This evening I have just collected and opened up my new Seiko Turtle SRP777K1 in black. I am so , so delighted. My dad bought me my first Seiko (5 automatic) some twenty years ago - still superb and I am very lucky to obtain an MM300 - and now a Turtle for everyday wear. The build quality is exceptional. The finish and style is timeless and superb. The movement and sweep is really very mesmerising and smoothly attractive. And the recent criticism of misaligned chapter rings is totally unfounded. The service , communication , price and delivering on their promises is second to none from FCW - I am so glad I have done business with you. Thank you! I do not give false praise either. Japanese Seiko every single time. Do not believe the Swiss hyperbole and hype. Thank you FCW and Seiko!

This is one of the most comfortable watches I’ve ever worn. The 4:00 crown position, strongly beveled case edges, and slight band expansion at the wavy area next to the case - all keep it from digging into my wrist, no matter how I move. The case diameter, lug length, and band length are all fine for my 6.75” wrist - but are definitely at the maximum size for a classic look. The overall height and semi-rounded edges of the bezel make it slip under a shirt sleeve relatively well. Much better than a bezel with a more toothy “coin edge”. The higher bezel is also much easier to get a hold of than a sloped bezel like the Rolex Submariner. The watch face, indexes, case and strap are super high quality. The bezel insert is not so great. It looks the same quality as the SKX009, whereas the rest of the watch is much nicer. The day date height and width is also a bit small for easy reading. The font etc is great, but letters that are 2 mm taller and 2 mm wider would be ideal.

Seiko, you've disappointed me!
4 April 2018

After destroying my inexpensive Citizen solar diving watch, I decided I'd try a more expensive Seiko mechanical diver, and chose the SRP777 since it had consistently positive reviews. Beginning on the first day of use, I discovered the watch had to be reset each day since it lost 1 - 2 minutes per day. A month in, and then every week or so, the watch stopped altogether (even though I was wearing it 24 hours a day, which should have provided sufficient kinetic energy). I brought the watch into Macy's so they could send it in for repair, and was told I'd need to mail it to the manufacturer myself. Why should I be required to pay to return a defective product to the manufacturer for repair? (Answer: so you'll buy Macy's special watch coverage plan ...). That doesn't ... MoreAfter destroying my inexpensive Citizen solar diving watch, I decided I'd try a more expensive Seiko mechanical diver, and chose the SRP777 since it had consistently positive reviews.
