Excellent microphones for podcasts and YouTube videos. This mic has a lot of features for the fairly inexpensive cost. I notice a slight hiss, though perhaps it’s because I’m critiquing while I edit videos. I do feel the mic can be a bit more sturdy.

This is one of the worst products I have bought in nearly 20 years. It is slow and crashes consistently, the SD storage drops consistently so you cannot save songs on it. Upgrading the firmware is like updating drivers on windows 98 - yes it is that pedantic. It is a real shame because this player has all the features most other players don't and is flexible but that means nothing if it is unusable and I don't say that lightly. When I did manage to play a song on it I have to admit the quality was excellent, but that is little conciliation when the product is so unusable. I think I must have spent 5 hours messing around with it when I finally gave up because it just kept dropping the SD storage. I did try two different SD cards which work perfectly in my other android devices, one 126GB and the other 252GB, both kept un-mounting consistently whilst I was trying to download music from Spotify or my local NAS. If 26GB of local music is enough for you and you dont intend on streaming music then the player could be OK for you but it is extremely slow when using the GUI. Mine didn't come with the AM1 amp either but in the questions and answers the seller does state it comes with the AM1 as standard, I bought an AM

It has excellent proximity effect; bringing the mic closer to a sound source brings in more signal, with no extra coloring. As only one mic can be connected to an iOS device, this is great for vocals and guitars tracking on recording apps. It’s also an excellent (and efficient) way to capture a live band in a room for demos or recording rehearsals.Included is Apogee’s Meta Recorder app, which is amazing, and four iOS devices can be linked to it, making it an easy way to share recordings. Apogee makes excellent preamp and D/A conversion software, so this is an excellent pairing.With the USB cable, it can connect to a computer and shakes hands perfectly with all the recording software we tried to use it with. In this format it’s great for audio for YouTube videos, or podcasts. And of course, a perfect option for mobile music studios and home production facilities.For a songwriter looking for a simple digital mic solution that won’t require extras like mic pre’s or external input devices, it’s great to have that professional level sound in a simple format. One of these makes it incredibly easy to have a remote recording rig that fits into a laptop bag, without using a dumbed down device that might rely on software to fill in any gaps.The only downside is that it’s not available for use on Android Devices. Hopefully that’s something coming down the line, but for now, PC/Mac/iOS users are covered. The street price is $399, which some might see as a tadpricey, but for the ease-of-use, the sound quality and the rugged nature of the construction, we’d say it’s well worth the investmentMohamed ourdichiAdresse: DEM HAY ESSALAM LT 149160000 OUJDAN= +212658461139

Best USB mic I've used
9 April 2020

Admittedly I was mostly skeptical, as my experience with USB mics has been that they don't compare with Pro-Audio level microphones -- thin, overly bright, high noise floor, etc. However, the MK4 USB is Surprisingly competitive, even when A/B'ing against large diaphragm condensers, like Neumann U87's and TLM 170's, and AKG 414's. But when not A/B'ing head to head, the results are quite good. I A/B'd against the Apogee Hype Mic and I like the MK4 a little better. Also, the MK4 has no buttons or level adjusts that can be inadvertently changed. Just plug it in and it works. The Only negative, is the "proprietary connector" to Lightning or USB 3.0 cables that are needed. I wish it was a standard USB mini to Lightning or USB 3.0. Great Value

I have had C414's and TLM model mics. I sold everything some years back and just had a AKG Perception 120. I wanted to get back into recording some original songs, I am mostly into Indie Rock, Pop and Folk and some progressive Rock and Blues. I Recorded a couple tests with my AKG P120 and felt the set up was ok but lacking. After some research I decided to try a Sennheiser MK4. I checked reviews, comparisons and price, the Mic is currently on clearance and I felt at the lower price I would go for it. Compared directly to the AKG P120 the MK4 is more sensitive, detailed and clear. The P120 might make a good back up mic but does not have the clarity of the Sennheiser MK4. This Mic is not as good as a AKG c414 or TLM but at barley over $200 on clearance it comes in at a 1/3 of the price of one of those mics used.

MK4 = Awesome
29 July 2021

It would be hard to overstate what a gem this mic is. It sounds very, very similar to my Neumann TLM 103 (MK4 is a tiny bit brighter), and that's kinda shocking at the price point. I've used it primarily on vocals (male and female) and it is full bodied, natural sounding, and it required very little de-essing (despite the high presence). The build quality feels battle-tank solid, and the fit and finish are very clean. It's hard to believe that a German-made, great sounding mic like this can be made available at this price point, and yet here it is!

The one thing I will say for this mic is there is no incredible self noise issue for me. There are a lot of other mics well above the price point that have more self noise and demand a treated environment. Sennheiser is and always will be a go to for my studio. The cons for this mic are the really cheap little bag to carry and protect this instead of a hard case and an 'optional' shockmount for over 100. Get yourself a good case for this.

[Rewarded Review] Great for ASMR
30 March 2022

I was searching for an upgrade from the AT2035 and came across this. After experimenting with it, I find that the mic picks up sounds well from a distance. I believe it will work great for ASMR because of the detail it captures, but it's definitely not for those with an untreated room. I didn't find it suitable for my voice, (I'm a woman, and it's hard to find mic reviews with a female voice) but it may work for others. It all depends on what you plan on using it for. If you'd like to try it yourself, I wouldn't recommend buyng it with a shockmount if you already have one. My Audio Technica shockmount held it just fine.

[Rewarded Review] I owned 2 of these for about 5 years

I own 2 of these microphones with their optional floating shock mounts. These mics are extremely neutral and transparent microphones with minimal coloration and very low self noise. They are also featureless meaning there is no hi-pass filter or attenuator switch.What you do get is a very well made German designed and built microphone, that is exceptionally well made with superb audio quality.Personally I will take good sound over feature sets any day.
