Sennheiser Momentum Wireless Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones (Black)

I have read on the internet that it is a well-known problem with these headphones, and Sennheiser has known about it for several years. I have never had this problem with cheap Chinese headphones. It is completely unacceptable in a pair of headphones at this price-level. I have e-mailed Sennheiser and hope they will make a firmware update to fix this problem, but I am not sure they will do it, because they are now coming out with a new model. Overall I am very disappointed with these headphones and will not buy a Sennheiser product again.

Perfect at this price range.Perfect fit for my ears.Sounds so good. Clean, tight bass and crisp highs, plus you can adjust the sound to your liking on their excellent app.Very premium looking wireless ear buds. Same goes for the case and long battery life and very good noise cancelling feature.I have the CX Plus and I thought they sounded great but these sound so much better.I have Sonys, Jabras, Samsungs, JBLs, Skullcandys but these Momentum 3 is the best in my humble opinion.Highly recommended.

I wanted to update my headphone and ended up going for a newer version of the Sennheiser Momentum's because God knows I need all the motivation I can get when going power walking. Staff at the Tunbridge Wells branch did not have any in stock but were still able to offer me solutions to get my hands on some within a short space of time.Having no patience I ended up going to Maidstone and then Holborn to finally get them simply because of the josuney I had to make for other reasons. The staff at both Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone were very knowledgeable and able to explain what these headphones could offer without getting too technical. They were also able to offer some realistic alternatives without a hard sell. Great sounding alternative to Sony + Bose

I have tested two pairs from JB Frankston (who were great to deal with!), as the first pair were faulty - they wouldn't charge properly. The second pair, although smelling strongly of an odd, chemical odour don't exhibit the same defect. There are clearly QA differences between manufacture dates for this headset with some variations to the sound, and, the softness of the leather. The second pair, which appears to be more recently manufactured than the first, has noticeably softer cup pads and a different sound out of the box - the EQ is less bass heavy than first pair; these are not a neutral sounding model without EQ though, with an emphasised bass response. I'm happy to report they respond to EQ well and the bass can be neutralized enough. The app, however, offers limited EQ customisation - bass , mids, treble - for wireless playback. The buttons, unfortunately, are not well designed - they are placed a little too high up on the outer curvature of the right ear cup shell; the trio buttons (volume+centre button) are also very difficult to distinguish from each other via touch and don't depress enough to confirm activation, or, feel comfortable on the finger. Battery life seems very good, contrary to what I had heard, and the physical comfort of wearing the headphones is very nicely balanced; it strikes a good balance between clamping force and softness/looseness. The clamp is reasonably firm but dampened by the softness of the cups (both units) which appear to be leather, which is also a definite plus. The auto pausing and resumption of playback when the set is removed or returned to the ears is a godsend - this should be on all wireless sets. The noise cancelling is moderate, even on max ANC setting. However, I notice less pressure in comparison to the Sony WH1000xm3, Bose qc35 mki and Bose qc35 mkii, all of which I own. The Sony have the worst feeling anc pressure. The Senn momentum app also offers a low pressure mode. The qc35mki are most comfortable overall (fit), followed by the senns, then qc35mkii with the Sony coming last. However, the Sony feel most portable with a more hugging fit and a more compact and sleek stature - they are great for wearing when doing manual labour. Sound signature wise, I prefer the Senn overall with the Sony second followed by the Bose. The Sony don't eq well, at least not via the app and the Bose have that classic 'love it, or, hate it' Bose sound. The Bose are excellent for seamlessly switching between connected devices, while the Sony are terrible - the biggest flaw of the xm3. I haven't yet tried switching devices on the Senn. Lastly, I don't like the cup sliders on the Senn, I much prefer the clicking and ratcheting cup sliders on the Sony and Bose - Senn uses a ratchet less pressure slider on rails which is not as useful for blind adjustment and portable use; I also worry about the durability of this slider mechanism. Overall I would happily recommend this pair to someone who values sound quality and doesn't need aggressive noise cancellation.

Limited Lifespan

Initially, the headphones ticked all the boxes; great sound quality, comfortable wearing over long hours, conveniently stacked, not bulky and aesthetically pleasing. However, even with great care taken storing, handling and maintaining the headphones, over time, the headphones are designed for obsolescence. The inside of the leather muffs are made of pleather that flakes and deteriorates. The connecting point between leather muff and the metal casing in joint with a soft plastic that easily tears (not due to obstruction) and deteriorates over time. And very quickly beyond warranty, the sound only comes out of one ear (no pulling or interference has occurred around the wires).

Nice sound... when it decides to work

While I'm impressed with the battery life and ease of connecting the bluetooth to your devices, even multiple at the same time, that's about all I can say these headphones have going for them.It has a pretty nice sound when it chooses to work, but you'll spend more time trying to get the 'wireless' part of these headphones to cooperate than listen to anything. I cannot recommend these headphones to anyone who so much as has hiccups. The on/off feature seems to have a sweet spot that is incompatible with the size of one's head, and if you thought using the included 3.5mm cable would help combat that issue as a workaround, I'm sorry to disappoint you. Professional sound

Quality sound:clean mids, powerful bass, crisp treble, whichthey can all be adjusted to your preference.Excellent volume:Nice and loud, I set the volume to around 50% most of the time and able to crank the volume up to satisfaction levels when wanted for example if I use single earbud or listening to a classic track.Battery life:The battery life is good on both, the buds and case.Cons: the case could have been slimmer so you can put it in your pocket more easily.(Don't get fooled by reviews saying buy the Sony, they are literally Sony's cyber marketing team)

Quality Headphones, Excellent sound & Features

I am so pleased I bought these. They have been an eye opener! I owned the Sennheiser Momentum 2's and really appreciated their comfort and Sennheiser build quality with the deep cushioned leather ear cups and headband. But the sound was ordinary. Needing an upgrade I was tempted by the excellent reviews Sennheisers rivals were receiving. But I also saw some great reports on the new Momentum 3's. I reasoned if I could get the Sennheiser build quality and comfort with better sound and noise reduction that would be great. So I bought the Momentum 3's. I am so glad I did. Sound quality is excellent. Rich with good bass and great instrument separation. I have some very good headphones and these compare very well. I am continually surprised just how good they are. Sadly not great

I bought a set back in a November 2022. Have recently returned for a refund. Didn’t use them regularly but still enough to enjoy up until the day I pulled them out to use and found the right ear bud dead. Tried charging and even googled the issue and tried the remedies advised but no luck. Couldn’t be bothered pursuing any further and have gone back to wearing my over ear Bose which are just reliable and hold battery life for ages between charges and use. Don’t buy earbuds until these companies can get them right. Seems like a lot of money for something far from perfect. And seeing how hard I work for my money I’m over just giving it away on goods that don’t work or last.

Sennheiser Momentum 3: Never Fails to Impress!

These are excellent NC (noise cancelling) headphones. The sound quality with these set of cans is enough to please/impress a wide range of people, especially the bass heads who crave pounding bass. As usual with Sennheiser headphones, the quality of these cans are extremely good, if not better, compared to other headphones in the same price range: you get an instant smell of quality, sheepskin, leather. The noise cancelling is good enough; however, the noise canceling is definitely not as strong as Bose or Sony but still very impressive. All in all, I would highly recommend the Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless.
