Shalimar by Guerlain Body Lotion 200ml

SHALIMAR is a very distinct fragrance. People who have not yet experienced Shalimar feel as though they know this fragrance. That feeling is a result of the combination of base extracts, precious oils and the touch of the parfum fairies working overtime to bring us this marvelous unique fragrance. Shalimar is one of maybe 3 - 4 fragrances that appeal to nearly every woman. A very sensual experience wearing Shalimar, and a very sensual experience enjoying it on someone else. Men are naturally drawn to the deep sensual multi layered blend that says, pure feminity. That's SHALIMAR.!!!

I have smelled Shalimar on women for many years now but have never tried it until now. I don't recall every purchasing anything like it before. It is floral, yet spicy and reminds me of a trip I took to India about 10 years back. It also has an earthy, woodsy undertone. It is an exotic scent. It is beautiful with the opening and middle notes. However, the dry down doesn't last on my skin or clothes for more than three hours or so. I ordered the cologne, but I am going to order the parfum because it has more concentrated oils and may last longer. I love the exotic smell enough to pay for the parfum and the body lotion.

I find that there are 3 very distinct phases of Shalimar on my skin and I have seen reviews saying the same thing. I am not familiar with the language that fragrance enthusiasts use so I will just do my best to describe it. The initial phase is citrusy and kind of chemical, not a fan of this phase but it's still beautiful. It then evolves into something powdery and spicy, the "old lady" vibe but very sophisticated and expensive. The incense tends to come out more when my skin is moisturized with aquaphor. Then the last and my favourite phase, the drydown that smells like the most heavenly lemon meringue pie. Sometimes it smells like hot chocolate with marshmallows and cinnamon on other days. I was in my early 40s when I first tried Shalimar. it was a birthday gift from my husband and I must say- I loved it! I wore it every time I wore perfume. However at one stage I found it very hard to buy Shalimar- it was just so scarce to find. I now have another bottle- a Christmas gift waiting to be opened. Love this Guerlain classic- spicy and earthy at the same time. It may not be for everyone- but that is the nature of fragrance- it suits certain people and I am one of them. I am in my early 70s now and I can say it is still one of my favourite fragrances, still. (I also love the very rare and expensive Balenciaga Le Dix, Chanel no 5 and Paola Picasso fragrance, too.)

Body cream

Received this body cream last week, first of all it took about 2-weeks for it to arrive, had to keep calling QVC When I put some of this on it smelled old, always wanted to try this scent, NOTHING special. In fact I hate it. Really strong, and I think it’s for a very mature older person, gave me a headache. From the notes in this body cream I thought I would like it, NOT. Not sending it back because it’s not worth the time or money. In the trash it goes!! Save your money it smells old and yucky.

I would buy this perfume more often if it was not so expens.

I can only wear this perfume on special occasions because it is so expensiveThis perfume has been around a long time. My grandmother LOVED & wore this, she passed away in Feb 1962... Pure divine

I love shalimar, worn it since high school. I am in my 70;s now but it still is timeless. This lotion smells so fresh and powdery. All you need is a little on your arms and your set for the day. My husband always buys me shalimar. This is a memory fragrance , in other words they will ask who you are because you smell so alluring. Bring more of the Guerlain products to qvc please.

Shame on you, Guerlain

The Supreme Body Creme has for many years represented a real luxury treat for my wife. I would always get her one for her birthday and for Christmas. Sadly, and perhaps inevitably, Guerlain have ceased production, as they have with other favourites, notably their hand soap, bath and shower gels. So I was very glad to be able to acquire this last one at more or less normal price. The sharks will, of course, start offering it on Ebay at treble or quadruple price, but you have to draw the line somewhere! Shame on you, Guerlain!

Timeless and one of my favorites!

The first time I smelled this was over 30 years ago on a night at the Space needle restaurant in Oregon when a lady walked by our table and both my date and myself had to ask her what was her perfume as it smelled so fantastic! I think it's one that definitely makes a impression and gets me lots of compliments! Love the staying power it has as well. This is my go to place for ordering fragences for myself as well as the guys in my life!
