According to the legend, twenty- year-old Prince Khurram met a young girl, named Arjumand Banu at the bazaar where her family worked. Mesmerized by her beauty, after becoming emperor, he made her his wife as Mumtaz Mahal, meaning the Jewel of the Palace. After the wedding ,the prince and Mumtaz were inseparable, in war and in peace. She had given 13 children to Shahjahan and died during the birth of their 14th child at the age of 39. I've wanted to try this fragrance for many years but due to the cost of the pure perfume, which I usually get when possible, I've delayed. I finally decided after reading comments, that for the cost of the perfume spray on here I had to give it a try. And am I glad I did! I've always been concerned that it would be overpowering on me but t's absolutely beautiful. It may be more for evening for some gals but on me it's a little sweeter and floral than some of the other orientals I've worn in the past. It could become my signature fragrance but I usually have two favorites at a time. I'm more of a classic/natural but as our body chemistry changes over the years our fragrances must also change. I'm sure I'll be wearing this one for a while.

I wore Shalimar until I was in my early twenties. Then I switched to a parfum that has been discontinued, so I decided to go back to Shalimar after 40 years. It's a tried and true scent. I'm amazed at how many compliments I receive.

Shalimar is one of my all time favorites. I have used it since my late adolescence and I like that it's not an over empowering scent. The only reason I've given this one 4 instead of 5 stars is because I haven't tried it yet. Sometimes these scents are copied and sold as real. I trust that Macy's wouldn't let this happen. Generally, Shalimar is a 5 star scent for me.

This is not my Guerlain Shalimar Eau De Toulette Spray. It is a fake smell nothing like I’ve worn for 40 years. So disappointed I’m returning this product for a refund.
Ended up paying twice as much for the same product on Macys on line as Macys sold it at various times for half the price at store… of course when I went to the actual store it was not available. It was a request for Christmas so I purchased despite the price.
I have used shalimar spray for over 25 yrs. and I love it ! My husband fell in love with the fragrance first and that’s the only sent he wanted me to wear. He has since passed away but I still wear it because it’s now a part of me!
I have worn this fragrance since I was in my teens, and it has been consistently the same. Always get compliments when I wear it. Years ago, I was given a beautiful gold shell container in which to place the bottle, and it is still a beautiful container on my dresser. I was introduced to it as a young girl when my nextdoor neighbor wore it. Everytime she visited our home, I knew she had been there. Great memories

Wish my review were positive, but it's not. Bought a refill directly through Guerlain, which I received on 1/3/23. Have two other bottles bought through Macy's, Whitehall PA - one in Oct 2021, another in Sept, 2022. All of them have little to no fragrance and what there is dissipates within an hour. Doesn't matter if I layer the perfume or spray on only once. At almost $100/bottle this will most likely be my last purchase of this - my beloved fragrance. Guerlain may say nothing has changed, but it has. Too much water, alcohol who knows. As I told Laura, one of your reps who was most gracious in her responses to me, I have used Shalimar faithfully for decades. Sadly, I have to find a replacement.
The counterfeit merchandise being sold at discount websites are just that. They leave an after scent hours later that you cannot wash out of your clothes! I just want people to know this is THE REAL Shalimar fragrance I've loved and worn for 45 years. Elegant, timeless, sophisticated that stops people in their tracks asking what it is. I've heard many times, my mom use to wear that. It's not an 'old lady' fragrance...we older ladies have been wearing it since we were teenagers and never tired of it, it's that wonderful! Not many women can say that about their fragrance. The counterfeit bottles are really well done....near identical packaging but it's not Monsieur Guerlain's. Don't be fooled. This is Paris' finest at a very affordable price.
