But I couldn’t bring myself to spend so much on a new one so bought this one as an alternative after reading very mixed reviews. This curls just as well as the air wrap. You don’t get as much tension but it has no effect to the curls at all. Some reviews I read complained about how loud this is, but to me it’s no louder than any other hair dryer or the Dyson. If you want tight curls this one isn’t for you but I like a wave and this hits the spot. Only down side is it’s a hard to hit the buttons when using so I need to use 2 hands with my tiny lady hands. But it’s not too heavy and pretty easy to adjust to. And the volume brush is so much better for bounce. And I wish it came in a box so you can keep it all together. But that’s just me. Defo worth 5 stars and the price difference is a winner without compromising the quality.

The brushes are bit hard bristled. The positives: It is mind blowing to see the curler in action and it certainly helps that you don’t burn your fingers. There’s 3 heat settings and 3 airflow settings. The case is fab. It’s lightweight. If you have hair that hold a curl then you’ll love the shark flexstyle. As with all fine haired ladies out there will understand, we need a little extra help.

Decided to buy the shark flexstyle after months of going back and forth wondering if it would be any good, seeing a fair share of good and bad reviews. When it was delivered I was so excited to use it, however it does not do what it advertises. The curls (blowout effect) literally lasts 10 min. I tried with my hair at different dampness, adding mousse, blow dry spray, hair spray, none of this works. The hair dryer part made my hair super tangled and knotty. The blowout round brush literally pulled my hair out. And the noise!! Especially near to your ear, my Apple Watch was telling me to leave the room due to the noise from the shark. Very disappointing, would not recommend.

My favourite styler
20 May 2024

Over the years I've had everything - a rotating hot air styler, an automatic magic curler, thin tongs, fat tongs, wavers, straighteners, hairdryers promising all kinds of magic. I was sick of the space they took up and thought I'd invest in one that does it all. I expected some loss of function due from moving from multiple specialist tools to a "does everything" tool, but honestly it's exceed my expectations.Yes it's expensive but the dryer is worth the cost by itself. Drying time easily halved meaning I can wash my hair daily now (I have a skin complaint which makes this preferable). The attachments work really well too. I have hair just past my shoulders which is prone to frizz. I wash my hair then add product and wait until my hair is almost dry. I have hair just past my shoulders which is prone to frizz. I wash my hair then add product and wait until my hair is almost dry. When curling I find it best to use the big oval brush attachment first and then when my hair is almost completely dry finish off with the wands. The best curls come if I do my usual thing earlier in the day then top up later in the day using the wands on completely dry (save for another spray of product) already styled hair. Use hairspray after curling. Using the right products is essential. I use a blow dry spray if I want a smooth, bouncy look and for curls I use a "thermo modelling spray".One point - make sure you activate the guarantee. My flexstyle just stopped working out of the blue but it was replaced with no hassle. Not sure what the problem was.

Not that good
25 January 2024

I purchased this and used it very regularly for over 2 months now.It looks very nice and feels nice to the touch, however, it is a heavy piece of kit. For example, the round brush attachment makes the dryer clunky and hard to hold after a while. The hair dryer side of this is utter rubbish. I have a normal Shark hair dryer which I adore. But this? I don’t like it at all. First of all, the “handle” so to say, provides zero grip, it’s too smooth almost? I’ll explain what I mean. So, in order to use this as a hair dryer, you have to twist the end so that it’s in that “L” shape and use it. If you grip too low, your hand is covering the bit at the bottom which needs to blow the air out. If you grip in the middle, one your hand will eventually slip as there’s no grip ... MoreI purchased this and used it very regularly for over 2 months now.It looks very nice and feels nice to the touch, however, it is a heavy piece of kit. So, in order to use this as a hair dryer, you have to twist the end so that it’s in that “L” shape and use it. If you grip too low, your hand is covering the bit at the bottom which needs to blow the air out. If you grip in the middle, one your hand will eventually slip as there’s no grip and end up too high up or you’ll be pressing the cool button by mistake. Second, when you twist the end and attach the precision head or whatever it’s called, it becomes too long. I don’t feel like I’ve got enough space to move my round brush and style properly. It was an actually struggle. Now onto the curlers. I have tried every product under the sun. I have long thick, heavy hair. My curls, even after being rolled up and sat with for 1h, never last more than 30 mins. I live in the UK so the weather here also has an effect, I’m sure, but still. Also, the curlers themselves are too short. I could’ve used longer ones, but then, I can’t imagine how it could work as the whole thing is already too long and heavy in my opinion.Overall, the cons for me are that it’s heavy, feels clunky, it would not replace your hair dryer and the results don’t actually last. Dyson have done a new model where it only has one curler and it changes the direction with a switch. Maybe Shark would look at this in the future. The pros, I like the result from using the flat and round brush. Even though my arms are killing after, I get a beautiful sleek look without having to further straighten my hair. I like the big wavy look I get with the curlers and it is tremendous fun to style. If you have thin hair, do give this a go. I also have not noticed any damage to my hair in particular.I was looking for a product to replace my hair dryer, sort of like a one stop shop for styling hair. My recommendation? Stick to your normal hairdryer, straightener and curl wand for now until a revised model comes out, this feels like a test product for me, and we’re essentially paying for Shark to realise what works and what not.I was very excited for this but it did not exactly live to the expectations. If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t buy again.

I was so excited to order this, I had read other reviews but I didn’t let that put me off - untill I’m sat here now writing one similar! Ok so firstly my hair is thin and fine it’s medium length, sits just above my back bra strap it’s in okish condition and I brought this because I wanted that stepped out of the hairdressers look and to actually do something different with my hair rather than its usual messy bun! The hairdryer on its own is great, I dried 80% of my hair and then sectioned it to use the curling barrels - this is the part it all goes flat - literally! I watched countless YouTube/ social media posts so I was confident and it was easy to do, But by the time I brought down the next section the first was a weak looking half wave! Infact at the time I got it in the uk we had storm (Debi) and I reckon that gave me more of a va va voom look! Pure disappointment from the barrels. So I tried the other attachments and honestly they were just as bad, so it’s boxed back up to be returned. I can’t justify the money for it when if I want curls perhaps a wand would be better for me. So back to messy buns and maybe, just maybe a brush every once in a while!

I bought this as I have a shoulder injury caused by a recent accident and needed a styler that would enable me to dry and style my hair as easily as possible, this does the job perfectly. I'm able to just use my good arm, it's pretty lightweight and dries really fast. The attachments fit on and off easily and leave my hair looking amazing, soft and shiny. Not only does it enable me to dry and style using one hand, the curling attachments give me the ability to have beautiful bouncy girls without adding another heat source to my hair. My hair is in better condition and looks amazing for the first time in months. Its given me back the ability to look pretty and that alone is reason enough to love this product. I bought this as Christmas present for my girlfriend and she absolutely loves it!It's much better value for money than the fat more costly Dyson alternative and from reading reviews online just as good and even better in certain areas. Using the curling attachment it almost magically wraps the hair around itself automatically, of course this is done using the vortex of hot air it blows out in all directions, but it still looks very impressive happening in person, the curls it produces are long lasting too, and the attachment for smoothing does a very decent job of straightening hair too. All in all, I am very impressed and my girlfriend is very happy. My only gripe is the noise factor, it's as loud as a hairdryer typically, however given the smaller diameter of the nozzle the actual pitch is higher, so it an sound pretty shrill in comparison to your normal hairdryer, you get used to it but it may be something to consider if you're already a bit put off by noisy appliances.Versatile and impressive results, 9/10

The Worst Hair Styler Ever
7 May 2024

Was so excited to get this. Washed my hair and set about drying it and styling it. I have long, thick slightly wavy hair. This Styler was a disaster. It overheated and turned itself off within about 5 minutes. I waited and let it cool and turned it back on. Same thing happened again. But not before it burned my scalp and caused heat damage to a section of my hair.Disappointment doesn't begin to describe my feelings.Item will be returned for a full refund.I honestly cannot, in all good conscience, recommend this product.
