Wish I had found this sooner in my life! With two dogs, two kids, a cat, husband and being a single story house with a messy backyard…I didn’t think I’d ever get clean floors! One run of this bad boy and I can do the swipe test with a white paper towel and NO HANDPRINT!! I would run the regular vacuum first to get a bulk of the dog hair if you are doing a big room and have a lot hairy beasts. But I didn’t with the bedroom or the bathroom and it still worked like magic!! (I’d just rather have less hair to clean out of the mopper so I prefer to vac first if there’s a lot of hair). I did the area rug in the bathroom too and it looks amazing!!! Dries super fast since it’s not leaving a ton of water on the floor and LOVE the fact it has separate clean/dirty tanks. As some who has owned one of the $500 vac mops I would rate this one a 7 out of 10. It definitely cleans your floors and allows you to simply do your sweeping and mopping all at one time. However there are some flaws that are keeping me from loving this one.1. It’s not a very powerful scrub on your floor. You have to go kind of slow to make sure it really mops the floor well.2. It doesn’t allow you to tilt it down very far when trying to reach under hard to reach spots. When I was trying to go under my table from one side it would lift the roller off the floor to where no contact was being mad to the floor. So I had to moved all the way around the table. Other vac mops will go down almost to the floor and keep the roller in the floor so you can get the job done ... MoreAs some who has owned one of the $500 vac mops I would rate this one a 7 out of 10. It took me three refills (and you have to dump the dirt water every time you refill the water) to do what one of the expensive vac mops would take care of in one fill. The bottle of cleaner that comes with the mop says it has 7 refills. That means I’ll only be able to use it one more time and I’ll have to buy more.4. It does not get close to the walls at all. It leaves a good inch or more untouched. That is usually my dirtiest spots and I ended up having to take out my old mop just to get all the way around all my walls.I can live with all 1-3.. %234 really sucks.I will say I’m glad I bought this. Each time I emptied the dirty water I was amazed at what all it go up and how nasty it was.Over all cleaning wasn’t the worst. I ran the self cleaner and then pulled the roller and roller shield off to white everything else iff and allow it all to air dry for next time. For the cost I feel like you get what you pay for. It’s not as amazing as the expensive ones but it definitely will save you some time and back aches!

I really like the smell of the soap, when I vacuum the rugs it refreshes the air. It works well enough that I didn’t return it even with its flawed reservoir design.

At the start, I really enjoyed this item so much that I actually bought one for my mom. It cleaned well, the rug option was fantastic, it was easy to empty, has a strainer to pullout and toss away the larger things. It cleaned all sorts of liquids and solids. The formula smells great too! After a few weeks it just stopped working. It would say that the collection container needed emptied but it was completely empty. We’d pull it out and reset it and it would run for a moment and then do the same thing. If we got it to run for more than a minute then it would not pick up the water. I thought maybe it was defective and we traded it out, but the new one did the exact same thing. I cut the cord and tossed it to the trash. Great cleaning power

We just moved into a home that has laminate and title throughout and we needed something that would do a two in one. The manual was not needed as the instructions from the box were perfect. This was a quick assembly and start process! I must say that I love the gentle start up where it pulls. Another plus, the handle has a swivel to it. In our bathroom we tend to have a lot of hair shed when brushing but this Shark VacMop sucked it right up in mop mode. There were some minimal cons, if a snip of a paper was wet and it stuck to the floor it didn’t have the suction to pick it up. One other dislike, was it is for a short use span. I had to replace cleaning solution 4 times in a 2,400 sq ft home. Overall however, I would still recommend this to everyone! If you hate to mop, this is the solution!

First off, let me say that I hate housework, LOL.I'll clean a lot of things around the house, the bathrooms, the cooking areas, but the one thing I hate above all else is doing the floors. I just hate having to get the bucket and mop out, it's such a royal pain. So the floors are the one place that i'll only do when I get tired of looking at it.When I saw this thing, this was an instant buy. I can use this to clean my floors without having to get out a bucket and mop. Now, this thing will not clean stuff that's been on the surface for a long time, that is not the fault of this product. What I did when I went to really clean my floors the first time I used the HydroVac was spray some floor cleaner of choice on the floor, let it sit, then take a deck brush to it ... MoreFirst off, let me say that I hate housework, LOL.I'll clean a lot of things around the house, the bathrooms, the cooking areas, but the one thing I hate above all else is doing the floors. This thing got things cleaned up in a hurry and the floors dried faster too.In the video I linked below, you'll see where I started to use the HydroVac on a section of floor that I've pre-treated and it works really well. Towards the end you'll see a brief glimpse of me going over a section that I haven't pre-treated and you'll see it doesn't get things up right away. If you go over it enough times, it will. However, you'll burn through a lot of HydroVac solution. Now that I've gotten my floors really clean, maintaining them will be way easier with the HydroVac. I figure 20 minutes once every week or two will keep things nice and clean. The only thing that could have been better is if this was cordless, but that's only a minor nitpick.

Long review, but I think it may help. I used the hydrovac today for the first time. I moved into a newly built home in November, I have two puppies, one 7 months old and the other 13 weeks and they are terrors. I live at 7300 ft elevation in Colorado and we got allot of snow this winter. My backyard is not yet landscaped and the soil is sandy. When the snow melts I have a very soggy sand pit back there; and when the snow is deep enough for the dogs not to sink into the sand pit, they bring in allot of snow because the LOVE it. The result of which is wet doggy prints or wet sandy prints all over my new 2,200 feet of laminate floors. Every day I dry mop and Dyson V12 daily and some days more than once, to pick up the sand; and then I wet map to get to the sandy wet puppy tracks. Downstairs is carpeted and they aren’t allowed down there unless their feet are clean and dry. Needless to say, keeping my floors clean is more than a challenge, it’s time consuming and exhausting I have no area rugs until the landscaping is done and they are completely house trained (13 week old still has accidents occasionally). I do have one 5x7 polyurethane rug by the doggy door to catch some soil and water. So that’s the picture; and I have to say the Shark hydrovac did a great job. I did not use either the cleaner or disinfectant that came with it because I figured I may return the machine. It picked up debris (dog hair and sand mostly) and the water was very dirty for both the laminate floors and the 5.7 area rug. After I cleaned the area rug, it didn’t even feel damp to walk on. I suppose if it was wool it might have but polyurethane rugs are pretty hardy to clean. It’s an easy machine to clean up and to stow away. The only minor inconvenience is the hook up by the handle to hang the chord on so it stays out of your way, but the hook needs to be a little tighter as the chord keep falling out of it. Hope that helps.

In Depth Review! I like it!

Expectations vs Reality - I read a lot of reviews on a lot of different products before making the decision on this model. I will say that I am VERY happy that I purchased the model WITH the cord after reading so many reviews about charging time vs operation time on one charge. I read that people were complaining about streaks. I ran this Hydrovac a few times over a couple of weeks before writing my review and what I found is that if you pour too much cleaner into the clean water tank it will streak. Also, if you pull the Hydrovac backwards too quickly it can streak. So, really just don't add too much cleaning solution and pay attention to how fast you're pulling the mop backwards and the problem really isn't a problem. Another complaint that I read about was the head of the Hydrovac sitting too high and missing some areas on the floor. This isn't a problem with the Hydrovac, it's a problem with whoever laid the unlevel flooring! I did experience this in a couple of areas in my home, but those are also low areas in my floor that I am aware of! I found that if I just go over the area from a different direction then it will in fact clean the low spots. Another complaint I read about was that the head of the Hydrovac does not get close enough to base boards and leaves about a 1" gap that does not get cleaned. So, what I found is that this is true if you are running the Hydrovac along the boards horizontally in one long motion. If you push the Hydrovac forward, "straight on" along the base boards then it will clean a lot closer but this is kind of inconvenient. So overall I will say I am very happy with this product. As mentioned I have already used it a few times before writing this review. It is not a complete replacement for a deep clean mopping but it IS wonderful for your inbetween cleaning as general maintenance for the home. Our house is about 2,300 sq ft (all tile or wood floors) and I have to fill the cleaning tank about 3 times and empty the dirty tank twice - both of those things are easy to do and even stopping to do those things it is still substantially faster than sweeping/vacuuming and then mopping my entire house with a traditional mop and bucket. We have a dog that sheds a fair amount and as long as I use the self cleaning feature after every use then there are no problems with suction or clogging the next time I use the Hydrovac.Pros - Great for general upkeep and inbetween deep cleans, works great in a home with a dog that sheds a pretty fair amount, the self clean feature is fantastic, I'm happy I bought the model with the cord, the mop head is easy to pivot, the Hydrovac has clear buttons for easy use and is overall pretty light weightCons - I do wish the tanks were a little larger, I also wish it got closer to the base boards on horizontal passes, the height of the mop head does not fit under some of my furniture so I have to slide those items over to clean under them

Have had this beauty for a few weeks and have used it several times, right out of the box. Quick/Easy to setup, easy to operate, works awesome - very, very convenient!!This is a purchase I'm very happy to have made. Cleans well on bare floors (laminate, wood, tile), small "throw rugs" and small pile larger area rugs. Definitely NOT for shag or higher pile carpet.Frankly, for bare floors, I've put away my mops and swiffer - and I don't have to vacuum before mopping now! This thing takes care of both vacuuming my floors and mopping them, too. Clean-up is quick, easy and not messy. One negative is the cleaning is more "surface" for spills on carpet. For spills that penetrate deeper into the carpet - like drink spills or pet urine - this unit has limited scope. Even after several passes, the cleaning only went part-way into the low pile carpet. Also, the cleaning fluid that came with the unit isn't labelled to be effective for pet urine. I always use a blue-light to help ensure any pet urine is effectively cleaned and the light showed that, even after many passes with this unit, there was still pet urine present (albeit milder). This is true even after using a different cleaning solution that is for pet urine. So for deeper carpet cleaning on bigger liquid spills or pet urine, you'll probably want to follow-up with a spot cleaner that goes deeper into the carpet. But for surface to-mid-carpet depth cleaning on low pile carpets and on bare floors, this thing is awesome!I'm hopeful they're designing a cord-less model. Being limited to a cord is not as convenient as being cordless.

After moving into an apartment with vinyl flooring, we learned that not all floor cleaning methods are effective. We couldn’t walk on the floors without slippers or shoes because of how dirty our feet would be after stepping on the floor. We tried so many different products and methods to try and make a dent from traditional mopping, a bona, to being on our hands and knees and scrubbing the floor and nothing would work. We gave up at a certain point because trying to clean the floor seemed like a wasted effort. I searched for all kinds of products to see if anything could finally clean our floors and came across this. After the first use, I could already see and feel a difference! We gave up at a certain point because trying to clean the floor seemed like a wasted effort. I searched for all kinds of products to see if anything could finally clean our floors and came across this. After the first use, I could already see and feel a difference! I did a few passes over areas cause I wanted to make sure it was really getting into the floor and it absolutely did. I did have to keep refilling the clean water solution tank as it is smaller in size but I have no issue with that, the smaller tank size is what keeps it lightweight. Emptying the tank for the dirty water was so satisfying; I could see all the gunk and dirt it pulled up. Our floor is finally clean and I couldn’t be happier! It’s also very straightforward to use and the self cleaning option is a huge plus. If you’re wanting to take it apart to clean it yourself it is super easy and has instructions in both the manual and on the vac/mop itself. The small bottle of solution it comes with also has a very pleasant, clean smell but isn’t overpowering and dissipates as it dries. I can’t really speak on using it for an area rug cause we don’t have any rugs we would want to use it on but it is fantastic for vinyl flooring that gets a lot of traffic.
