Shark Ix141 Impact Cordless Vacuum

I thought for sure this would be great. I've only owned cord vacuum's before, so this is my first experience. I will say I am not impressed at all. So you must charge it to full charge before you use it. Okay, no problem, makes sense. The manual that comes with says you should get around 45 minutes of time before you need to recharge. Ok, i admit that point annoyed me, but I was like hey, when do I ever vacuum for 45 minutes straight anyway? I'm in a one bedroom 785 sq ft apartment for reference. Carpet everywhere minus the kitchen and bathroom. I maybe get 20-25 minutes and it needs to charge. I plug it in and let it charge. I come back to it and start again, and maybe 5 minutes in the top and bottom light start to flash. There are 3 lights for reference, meaning ... MoreI thought for sure this would be great. The top and bottom ight flashing together means the battery needs to chill out and you cant vacuum or charge it until it does. I bought this yesterday as I'm writing this review and today, I get up to vacuum after I've moved some furniture, and after about 5-10 minutes same thing. For a first time cordless for what I paid I expected way more than this.

This is both powerful and lightweight! It is worth noting though that I had bought this brand and model a few months ago and it seemed "off." The handheld part worked fine when it was detached from the stick, but when it was attached the motor / beater brush did not engage and it sounded like the suction was working but no debris was getting channeled to the container. I ended up exchanging it since it's too expensive for it to only partially work. I think I just got a defective one because the replacement works really well.Pros: Lightweight, cordless, strong suction that is especially useful for pet owners. I use it several times per day because we have a dog and a young child!Cons: top-heavy! I really like the cordless feature and this vacuum is pretty quiet! It charges fast and doesn't take up a lot of room. However, it was marked as being "for pets." We have 3 dogs and tile floors. So the hair is always an issue. I bought this vacuum in January and it has gotten clogged several times with hair. It's not too difficult to clean out, but definitely not what I would call a pet vacuum if it regularly gets clogged due to dog hair. So, if you don't have multiple pets, I would definitely recommend!
