Shark Steam Mop - S1000

Purchased this at Home Depot. When I moved into my current home, I was looking for something to clean my wood floors. I’m not a fan of the traditional dump and twist mops and was looking for an alternative. This is a corded model that has changeable pads that are machine washable. All you need to do is fill the tank with water. I don’t have children or pets so this is definitely effective for my needs. Lifts up dirt and leaves behind shiny wood floors. Lightweight, not hard to use. I did find that the mop pads lose ability to really stick after a certain amount of washes. This was good for my needs, looking forward to trying the updated model.

Absolutely brilliant!

Purchased this steam mop online from Myer based on reviews, so always a bit concerned at not being able to eyeball the product. I am so happy with it! Easy to use, easy to store, it does a GREAT job and in next-to-no-time, my tiled floors were so clean! It is so easy to store and use that the thought of getting it out to use was not an 'oh-oh' moment, as how it can be with some items - setting some things up can sometimes not be worth the trouble! There was some 'moisture' left on the tiles - I would not call it 'wet' at all - but it evaporated very quickly. The length of the cord was not a problem for me as I live in a small home and when the steam ran out, it was so easy to remove the water holder and refill. Great basic steam mop

This Shark Steam mop is a basic steam mop. It's easy to use. Pull of the reservoir and fill with clean water, plug in, pump the handle a few times and it's ready to go. Every time you push the mop forward it will release steam and when pulled back it won't. It really does a good job for a basic steam mop leaving my tile and hardwood floors streak free. I like the wider pad surface coverage. If a spot or stain does not come up with the first pass I just hold the mop on it for a second or two and it lifts it right up. I use this almost every day. I have 2 dogs and my hard wood floors get muddy every time they go outside.The one complaint I have is the same as with my other Shark Steam mop, the cord is too short. LVP floor

I got this steam mop to use on our LVP floors especially in high traffic areas like hallways. Been mopping swiffer wet pads but I felt a deep clean was needed and this Shark Steam Mop did the needful.It picked up a lot of dust and dirt that mopping 2 x with swiffer wet pads and vacuuming had missed.Pros.The design is excellent.It has 360 swivel head which makes it so easy to maneuver around tight spaces.The length of the cord is generous. I can cover a large area without the need to keep changing the outlets.This steam mop can stand straight up on its own! Love this little timesaver!

I LOVE this Shark product! It almost makes cleaning fun! It's easy to use and does a great job cleaning dirt off my floors. It comes with two pads that easily attach with Velcro. I just pull them off when they're dirty and wash them in my washing machine. They come out clean and good to go again. The only drawbacks are that the cord isn't super long, so I need to either move it to different outlets to reach my whole floor or add an extension cord. It also doesn't clean up bulky messes, like sand, so you might need to vacuum first if necessary. BUT, for the muddy pawprints my dogs make several times daily in the winter, cleanup is a breeze with this awesome product!

Nifty little gadget

Lightweight and portable. Easy to push - push action set off steam - there is no power button. Wait 10-15 minutes and pump the handle a few times to get it going. You’ll be surprised at how dirty the pad gets even if you’ve just mopped the floor. Ceramic tile bathroom and kitchen floors look great. No streaks on the kitchen floor (shiny tile) that a regular mop and cleaners leave behind. I even used it on the gel mats in the kitchen. Replacement pads are easily found online (I picked Am@zone for mine). The cord is very long; that’s another plus. I like that it stands upright on its own when not in use. Use the Walmart app to check prices. The end cap said $54.97. The aisle said $49.97. It was the lesser price when purchased on 3/2/2024

Simple but good enough

This is my first steam mop and I hope that a more expensive one would work better but I wasn’t ready to spend a lot until I figured out if I actually would use a steam mop. I’ve used it twice now and it worked well on dirt on engineered hardwood floors and ceramic tile but this steam mop wasn’t enough to take on my Saint Bernard’s slobber and food mess. This second time I used it, I first sprayed down my ceramic tile floors with vinegar, let that soak a few minutes, and then used this steam mop on the floors. Huge improvement. His slobber stains and food mess is gone and the floors actually look noticeably better. This steam mop does leave the floors very wet. I’m not sure if that’s normal or not but they take a while to dry.

Standard steam mop. Prefer older version

This was a free product with my black Friday purchase. I have an old Shark Steam Mop which I have been using, so when this was a free option I was excited for an upgrade. This is a standard steam mop, nothing special to be honest. The cord is still too short for my liking. My old steam mop came with a plastic tray to place the head of the steam mop on when warming up or cooling down so it doesn’t rest on your floor and potentially ruin your floors. This new steam mop didn’t come with one, so I am forced to use my old plastic tray. The pumping of the handle is different as the older version didn’t have this, I honestly don’t care for that part. My old Shark has buttons to press when you want different steam settings which I prefer. I wish those settings would be on ... MoreThis was a free product with my black Friday purchase. Wish I had bought one years ago!

I did not realize what a difference this could make! So much easier than with a traditional mop of any kind. No wringing, no heavy buckets of water. The floor comes so much cleaner. This SharkS1000WM was so inexpensive, I was afraid it would leak or leave puddles but it doesn't at all. It's almost like cleaning with a damp mop because the floors dry within in a minute or two. I just fill the tank with water, snap it on and turn it on. Within a minute I am steaming up a storm. It has a trigger so you can control when and where you want the steam. When finished I threw the detachable mopping cloth into the washer and was ready for another day. It is perfect for my little apartment. You work hard so it doesn't have to.

I too was discouraged by the performance when I first assembled, added water tank, plugged it in and turn it on. So I went back to the instructions. I read it about 3 times before I got it. Unlike my Dirtdevil which just died on me, you don't plug it up and it produces lots of steam, you need to pump the handle a few times to build the steam. Then by YOU pumping the handle back and forth while you push and pull it, the steam stays somewhat consistant, somewhat. I took that sucker and threw it in the garbage. My Dirtdevil produced steam and I just had to run it over the floor. I didn't have to work so it would steam. It probably would have helped tone my upper arms. People just don't usually buy steam cleaners for that reason.
