Was having a bit of trouble with my GX Eagle ghost shifting and not staying in gear. I replaced the cassette with this SLX and used a XT chain with a Sram eagle quick link. Kept the Eagle shifter, derailleur, and absolute black oval chainring. Solved all my problems plus better shifting under power. The only negative is shifting to the smaller cog is a bit delayed or at least not as quick as shifting up to the larger cogs.

This is a good cassette, but it's not strong enough for ebikes. The smallest cogs will wear out in less than a couple hundred miles with an ebike. I recommend the M8100 which is a little bit stronger, but will still wear out prematurely. Shimano is releasing an ebike specific drive train soon, whenever their manufacturing plant reopens after the "pandemic". But for that you'll have to buy an all new shifter, derailleur, cassette AND drive hub since it doesn't use a micro spline freehub. Money. That's all Shimano really cares about. Your money.

This is a good cassette, but it's not strong enough for ebikes. The smallest cogs will wear out in less than a couple hundred miles with an ebike. Shifts Great. I don't think you can beat Shimano SLX for performance to price ratio on a MTB replacement cassette.
Crisp shifting with my XT shifter and SLX derailleur. Only the lowest gear is Al while the rest are chromoly. This works best for me because in the 2nd lowest gear I'm often still mashing a bit in the steeps, but if I find my self needing the lowest gear, I'm usually either just sitting and spinning. This optimizes my weight to cost ratio for my custom drivetrain. The Deore cassette is unnecessarily heavy with the last cog being chromoly also and the XT's 2nd lowest wears down too fast for me. The XT shifter gives me the ability to do multiple downshifts while the SLX derailleur is basically the same as the XT but less pretty. I think running a full SLX drivetrain with an xt shifter gets me the best bang for my bucks and frees up cash for other important but much ... MoreCrisp shifting with my XT shifter and SLX derailleur. Installed this on my bike as part of an upgrade from a 3x9 to a 2x10 drivetrain. Have been super happy with it, performs great. Excellent performance, especially for the price.
Upgrade to my M6100 which I loved, not much of a price difference so paid a little extra for the upgrade. Sure it will be at least as good as the previous one.
Replacement of OEM for my Giant Trance, replace chain 2x then buy new cassette and chain...good to go! Good combination of quality and affordability!
Like most people I couldn’t find an XT cassette. This one was hard to find too but luckily Cambria bike had it in stock and shipped really fast. It works great. Not as light as the XT one I guess but to me it’s not a big deal, at least I got to finish my build.
i’m on my second slx cassette 2000 miles in and it’s been nothing short of incredible. i dont take great care of my drivetrain - never swapped chains and i only lube every third-ish ride or every other wash. i demoed a bike with a full gx setup and although it looked a bit cooler, it didn’t shift as nicely and silently. really like how you can just buy the individual sprockets for the first five gears. i’ll be taking care of this second one though. might look into garbaruk next as i’m becoming slightly more weight conscious (~250g savings). 10/10
