While I have not used the rod as yet, I bought it as a gift for my girlfriend as she too is becoming an avid fisho and each time we go she wants to steal my rod, so I figure if I get her a good GP rod she can use her own. It seems to have the right balance and power for a shorter person to wrangle a good sized fish on it. We will soon see
