This is my second set of Shokz. I have the Aeropex which I have had since 2020 and I love them. I bought the OpenComm2 for working remotely and they do not disappoint. They are light and comfortable. They link with my devices perfectly. These are great headsets for work. I can wear them all day and not feel any discomfort at all. Another positive note would be that I can hear what is going on around the house or where ever I am. I highly recommend the OpenComm2 to anyone who needs a headset for work.

Overall I'm liking these headphones for WFH. I love the seamless transition between computer and phone calls. The range is really great, too. I love that I can leave my phone upstairs on my desk and take calls downstairs or even in my backyard. I'm used to the Open Run and these are a bit heavier, but not unbearably so. My only complaint is some vibration on the left side where certain frequencies (especially my boss's voice >.<) cause the left play/pause button to vibrate resulting in an uncomfortable noise. Keeping the volume very low alleviates that issue, but then makes it harder to hear. If that issue could be resolved, these would be hands down perfect for WFH or for anyone needing a headset to easily take calls on a laptop & phone.

I had an original Aftershokz Openco and lost it. I wore it all the time oftentimes forgetting it was on. After losing it, I couldn't think of using anything else and was hyped to see an updated version without the hideous orange buttons. I quickly bought this newer version and am happy with my purchase. This headset is high quality. I rarely had any connection issues other than with a PC which has been corrected with the U2 dongle. The only real complaint is that One of the buttons is on the side and while using the device at night to keep from waking my wife, I would accidentally hit the button which would trigger a redial most times to my sleeping wife.

Not having this absolutely kills the usefulness because I don't know for sure if I'm on mute or not. I mentioned to several people including Shokz Feedback Team that if they made it with a dedicated mute button, I would buy it without hesitation. When I saw that Shokz came out with OpenComm 2 UC (OC 2) with a mute button in the Mic, I ordered it immediately. When I first got the OC2 I went through all the features. The headset is a great improvement over the original OC. The sound is better and from my testing, the Mic also seems to have better sound isolation. The mute button on the Mic is the biggest improvement. It now means I can feel comfortable walking away from my computer while on a Zoom since I can mute and unmute remotely. I was happy to see that the Bluetooth adapter changes colors to let you know when you are unmuted (Green) or muted (Red) while on a conference call. It also give you a voice confirmation of the same so you know if your muted while away from your computer. Just like the original Shokz OC, the OC2 are very comfortable to wear all day.I did have some minor software issues which are detailed below:-Solved: Zoom and the OC2 mute synchronization was not working when I first got the OC2 headset. When pressing the mute button on the OC2 Mic, the Zoom mute did not activate as it should. After reporting to Shokz, they informed me Zoom was already working on it and should be fixed in an update. The next day I received a Zoom update which fixed the issue. So if you have this issue, make sure you are on the latest Zoom client.-Unsolved: Shokz Connect App is used to upgrade the firmware of the Headset and Bluetooth adapter. Both devices are not detected through this app. Since they don't have a new firmware available yet, this is a minor issue right now. Shokz Support is still investigating.-Solved: I tried to upgrade the Shokz Connect App with the hopes it might fixe the above connection issue, however the upgrade button was pointing to a dead link. Shokz Support fixed the issue with the link, however it did not fix the connection issue as I hoped.The remaining software issue is not a deal breaker for me as long as they eventually fix it. I highly recommend this headset to anyone who is looking for an open-ear headset with great features and support.
The OpenComm2 UC headset is much better than the OpenComm set I have had for a year. The sound is much richer, clearer and fuller than the last set. I have no hearing in one ear and 50% hearing in the other. I wear the OpenComm2 set most of the day as I work and get things done. They are very comfortable. I use them with my iPhone, iPad and MacBook. They pair first with the iPhone then second with the MacBook if I am in the office or iPad if I am on the road. Occasionally they drop off of calls during the call and I have to reconnect them on the phone app to hear the caller I am speaking to. I have not had any problem with the other caller understanding me whether on the iPhone call or on a Zoom meeting session. As a long-time Shokz OpenComm user, I have mixed feelings about the UC2.The UC (computer connection via USB dongle), has very short range and will disconnect if I venture more than about 20ft from my Mac.Also, I’ve had a few occasions where the Bluetooth connection keeps dropping if I’m home and too far away for the UC connection. This headset is unusable when this happens; it’s bad. I discovered that if I unplug the UC dongle from the computer, then I don’t seem to have this problem.The Shokz are great, but the UC2 may not be worth it compared to the regular OpenComm.
The sound is great, better than I expected. I was complimented that my mic sounded better, with more rich tones, than the other people on the meeting who were using a similar priced, wired headset. My favorite part of the headset is the mute button, I have found it very useful when I walk away from the computer during a meeting. My last headset didn’t have that. Using the USB device to connect was instant. Integrates well with MS Teams. Comfortable too, sometimes I forget to take them off after the meeting. Very happy with this headset.
