Just got these yesterday for Father's Day and soon after opening them already had tons of songs loaded (as simple as plugging into your computer, it showing up as a drive and copying the files over), read the instructions in about 30 seconds and was in the water swimming within minutes. I am blown away by the comfort and sound quality of these headphones in the water (and out). This is my first experience with this type of headphones and wow it is game changing for me as I do not like things in my ears. The ability to comfortably listen to music while swimming (and doing all kinds of other things like mowing the lawn, doing yardwork, walking the dogs, biking, exercising, etc.) and still be able to be fully aware of your surroundings is really a game changer for me. ... MoreJust got these yesterday for Father's Day and soon after opening them already had tons of songs loaded (as simple as plugging into your computer, it showing up as a drive and copying the files over), read the instructions in about 30 seconds and was in the water swimming within minutes. Of course this set does not support bluetooth as it's made to be in the water (which I actually prefer as I don't need to carry my phone with me to have a bluetooth connection), but definitely going to get another set for times when I do want to have bluetooth connectivity. These are incredibly comfortable, stay put through all kinds of movements in the pool and work very well with goggles, sunglasses, etc.. Cannot recommend them enough.

I tried various bone conductive mp3 players for swimming from China, and they worked really well, unfortunately, all of them were bulky which made them uncomfortable however, they had Bluetooth technology, which makes me think the only reason shokz didn't put BT module in OpenSwim is for us to buy their other products. That's a dirty way of thinking, and it's the main reason I will not buy this product again.

When you read reviews of a product, there is always apprehension even when the reviews are outstanding. One of those, can't be THAT good!Well, these headphones are simply THAT good. Have been swimming with them and it has definitely been a game changer. 30 minutes - 45 minutes - now 1 hour swims are way more entertaining, but also more meditative. Not looking at lap numbers, but rather, what's the next song. Clear, especially with ear plugs. Don't get me wrong, these are not intended to be "noise cancelling", however, they are "voice cancelling". That little voice urging you to stop the process, or "how many more laps", or "just give up". I know I should have greater mental discipline, but let's be honest, who does at times? I purchased two pairs of the AfterShokz Xtrainer at the same time. I was impressed with the design, build quality, the sound, and the ease of use. That was a relief as AfterSholz were the third brand of swim headphone I had purchased over the last five years. The first pair Xtrainers were used on a daily basis, 2 km open-water swim, calmish water, free-style.OK - so really-really happy wth them until ....the gremlin struck. Atfter 3 months, the right-side conductor quit - no sound. This pair were returned to Aftershokz and it must be said, their customer service were amazing. No wrangling at all - the headphones were replaced immediately. While waiting for the replacement pair to arrive, I started to use the second pair that I had purchased. Really-really happy until you gueesed it. Again, aprox 3 months of daily 2km openwater swimming and the sound went. This time, the left conductor. These were also returned and immediately replaced. Aftershokz customer service were really great again. It's a pity, as I really needed these headphones to be durable. I probably should say that I never wore the headphones under a swim cap - whethet that would make a difference or not, I'm not sure. I should also say that both sets of headphones would regain sound if I fooled around moving the conductor titanium frame to different positions. This gave me the impression of an internal loose electrical connection. It could be that the volume of my swimming was a bit much fot the headphones to cope with. For anyone doing a lighter swim load, I would say give them a shot many other reviwers seem to have had no problem whatsoever.

Definitely a GAME CHANGER
29 November 2022

I’m not a review writer but do read reviews. These swim headphones are such a game changer I had to write a review. I have the NON swim headphones, which I love but decided to get the swim headphones with the Black Friday deal. Used them yesterday. Downloading was easy. I created a folder for audiobooks. Downloaded a book from the library and transferred it to that folder on the headphones. Easy peasy. Put the earplugs in (came with the order) then put my swim cap on but left my ears uncovered. I then put the headphones on but left the back piece out of the cap. Pulled the ear flaps down and turned the headphones on. I was waiting for a lane but started listening. I thought the volume needed some, well volume, but I had it very high. Once I got in the pool and ... MoreI’m not a review writer but do read reviews. Once I got in the pool and started swimming it was perfect. Using the ear plugs I think made the sound increase in the pool. I did not listen to music yet, my book is really good so didn’t want to swap to music. Maybe today. Highly recommend these for swimming. My experience was better than expected. I usually use an Apple Nano that was waterproofed so I understand the no screen and only use buttons to navigate. That was not an issue. I loved not having the wires from my head phones dangling around my neck. If you swim and want to enjoy swimming longer sessions you need these headphones. I may order another pair just in case…. Getting wet with my favorite bands - Pros and Cons

Pros and Cons -This is for the "Open Swim" model. I tried some waterproof headphones after seeing someone else wear them for my swimming workout. To have tunes in the water?! Freaking amazing...but constant leakage/adjustments...then I thought I'd try the 'bone conduction' with an entry level type. No bueno...the technology worked but the sound was 1970s AM radio. I returned them and thought "Ya get what ya pay for" and tried these.Pros- Astonishing is the best word to describe my reaction. True/good sound. The "swim mode" is incredible how it changes things to accommodate for the ear plugs and/or water. Waterproof - nothing to worry about. Easy(ish) to move music over. Stellar product. Pricey but worth every penny. Just wish it had the Bluetooth.

I've been using a different brand of bone conducting headphones for years and thought they were fine. But I had technological questions with them periodically - they wouldn't charge, I couldn't get my Mac to recognize it to load new music, wouldn't turn on in the pool sometimes, so I finally had it at looked for an alternative. Shokz are AMAZING! The sound quality is so much better than on my other brand. They stay on even during flip turns, controls are easy to find while wearing. Even out of the water the sound is very clear, I might even be tempted to run with them. I found them uncomfortable after 10 laps with my swim cap over the tops of my ears covering part of the device. I pulled my swim cap up so it wasn't on my ears and that seemed to do the trick. The neck band part rubs a little when using the kickboard, but not significantly, and it's not problematic, I just noticed it. Overall, these things are great and am so glad I switched from my other ones.

One of the Best Purchases I have Made

This may be an overstatement, but I seriously love these headphones! They are an answer to a prayer practically. I have always wanted to swim to music and these make that dream a reality. The sound from the headphones in the air is slightly diminished, but the sound is still great and perfect underwater. The ear plug that were added to the kit were a nice touch. They are a supper comfortable fit, I can have them on my head for hours and not have them bother me. The transferring of music is also super easy, and the charge to use time is great (short charge for long use). The only compliant I have is the shuffle mode on the headphones is not super great. I have 300+ songs downloaded (approx. 37 hours of music) and it is very common that I will hear the same song two or three times within a four hour period. So that could be approved on. Otherwise, these are great headphones, I would hightly recommend them!

I tried multiple bone conduction headphones before I tried Openswim. All of them were a poor fit for me, and the sound was just "so-so" on the other brands. Their earphones fell off and/or moved around so much that the sound was mediocre (I have a small head).I actually like the fact that there is NO bluetooth on the Openswim. Bluetooth doesn't work under water, and after trying multiple other brands that did have bluetooth, it got pretty annoying having to switch modes. Then, with the press of a wrong button one to many times, you had to start all over again to get back in mp3 mode! The button placement and configuration works very well. The buttons are easy to get to and well-spaced.The Openswim does NOT fall off or move around and is very comfortable -- even on ... MoreI tried multiple bone conduction headphones before I tried Openswim. The buttons are easy to get to and well-spaced.The Openswim does NOT fall off or move around and is very comfortable -- even on my small head. I especially like that they can fit under a swim cap. And the sound -- is nothing short of WOW---absolutely fantastic!! What a pleasure enjoying the great r tunes of your tunes while swimming laps! (And, the sound when wearing earplugs is even better!Loading songs onto the Openswim was very straightforward. Plug the USB into your computer, open the drive with the OpenSwim, and drag and drop to copy your files from your computer to the Openswim folder. Took less that a few minutes, and I loaded at least 100 files for a first go around, and still have space to add more. Great capacity! My only wish would have been to have a "mini" sized Openswim for those of us who are more petite-sized. But all, in all, a wonderful product!
