Initially purchased the original shotgun child seat, however it didn’t fit dad’s bike rack. Decided to give the pro a try. First of all, we’re pretty amazed by the build quality. Didn’t take too long to install it. And we haven’t needed to remove it ‘cause it doesn’t take much space even the child is not riding. We also liked the idea of the adjusting pedals. Our 97% percentile toddler can comfortably sit with his feet strapped in. We also purchased the handle bar, which is not included in the pro kit. Worth the $ in our opinion. They have gone on 10+ miles/1hr bike rides several times and both dad and kid enjoyed the rides.

Having put two season of riding in on the Original KRS (which we LOVED), we had a good base of experience to compare the two models. Both install quickly and securely, but the Pro is certainly easier to install, make adjustments, and remove/reinstall. The fit/finish of the product is so high quality and the thoughtful engineering/design makes adjusting a breeze, literally so easy. From opening the package to riding, it must have been less than 15-20 minutes. From there, the benefits of the Pro shine just like all KRS products which is to say the experience of riding with your little one transcends the bike and the connection you two have together goes far beyond the single experience. Seriously, can’t say enough about this dynamic and the opportunity to bond in the ... This is a great product for anyone that wants to avoid contact with their frame, fit for an ebike with a bigger tube set, or simply go for the premium option. We’ve ridden miles of single-track, gravel, and dirt with confidence in the safety/security the Pro provides. Only downside is my little guy will outgrow it this year :(

Totally blown away by how well this works. My 20 month old daughter does a great job holding on and is very secure, even on green single track with some ups and downs. My 3.5 year old son absolutely loves it, and rides what I’d say is mellow blue single track. He can stand up a bit over rocky chattery sections, and is completely secure as trails dip and climb. Fits back and forth between my Trek Fuel EX size M/L and my wife’s Marlin size XS with no major adjustments. From the rider’s perspective, it’s like your bike got heavier and that’s it. Everything control the same, suspension compression, steering etc is all very predictable, really the only limitations are your own strength/endurance for climbs, and your judgement on what is safe to take your kid on while ... The quality of the product is really good and there’s is absolutely no play once installed. There’s no noticable difference with the headset bushing and seat attached vs. normally tightened headset bearings. Overall a very nice product and way better than say a Thule seat. Taking age into consideration of course. Fits the Turbo Levo very nicely leaving the power button well accessible. Personally I installed the seat as forward as comfortable for the child as that leaves the most room for pedaling. There’s a bit of interference from the childs butt, but again way less then a Thule seat that we upgraded from.
If you are looking for THE best way to have your little one ride with you on your bike do not look any further! - I mean that Both my of kids (ages 4 and 2) have loved this seat, it's was really easy for them to adapt and feel comfortable. The foot straps really help keep the kids secured and safe. Before purchasing I was worried my kids especially my two year old) would not have the attention span to keep her hands on the bars and would easily fall off. That is no where near the case, neither of my kids have come close to falling off and I totally trust this seat! More things I love: The saddle is adjustable, and is extremely easy to get on and off, and there is no worry about it damaging my bike frame. I'm stoked on this seat, and my kids have absoultely loved them! Bike: 2019 Santa Cruz Bronson
I had seen early previews on youtube and reviews of the original beaming with praise for the build quality. The Pro seat is everything i had wanted from other brand offerings with the added build quality that Kids Ride Shotgun had on their original. My 3 year old son and I are working on his strider abilities and when he wants a break or wants to go fast on bigger trails this seat does the trick! The install was very straight forward and the adjustability is incredible. He feels very secure and comfortable. Now that i have it installed i can see why having the separate handle bars would be beneficial for my little guy to have better posture. He is in constant attack form and i am betting that will get old on longer days we go out. AKA... I'd suggest getting the ... He is in constant attack form and i am betting that will get old on longer days we go out. AKA... I'd suggest getting the handlebars to allow your kiddos the chance to sit up a little more (and mimic their bike posture better). We came from him sitting on the top tube , feet on the fork and hands on my handlebars. Since this seat has him up higher the hands position needs to come up too. Love the opportunities this product affords my family to get out without having to worry as much about being stranded with a strider bike a mile into a trail system. Now i can strap the strider to my back and keep the good times rolling :) Love it!
The seat is working out very well. So much better than the first gen Shotgun. I love the way it is easy off easy on and from one engineer to another I can tell you've done your homework with the Shotgun Pro. Don't know why the kids handle bar was not included with the Pro as I feel it crucial to the safety and stability of the child. I took my handle bar for my Shotgun 1st gen and using it in conjunction with the Pro. Also I feel the leg extensions should be longer to fit taller kids say up into the 3-4 year old range. Overall I love the seat and my son absolutely enjoys going mountain biking with us. David Ewell
I got the Shotgun Pro seat for my 2 year old son. I have mounted it to my fat bike with front suspension a plus bike with front suspension and a suspension bike. This seat is amazing, the range of adjustability is incredible. It mounts easily and quickly to all the bikes it has been used on. It takes 30 seconds to installl or remove if you are being slow.. My son loves it, he wants to ride with me everytime I go out on my bike. With having my son up front and holding the handlebar he is part If the action and has the ability to move his weight around and stand up If it gets rough. The amount of trails I am able to do with him is really quite surprising. I find that I can almost ride as normal I am not thrown off balance wise. I would highly recommend a dropper post ... I would highly recommend a dropper post with this seat to allow your feet to get to the ground when stopping it raises your top tube significantly. If you are trying to get your family out on rides and you have little ones, this is the way to go. I love it, my son loves it, and it allows our whole family to go riding together. What more could you ask for!
My 2 years old, loves it. I was worried that she will be scared but she is not. First time I took her out, I started easy and after few minutes we went to medium difficulty trail with no problem. She was encouraging me to jump and laughing. It takes less than 1 minute to put it on my bike including the little handlebars and it’s even faster to take it off. There is no modification to the bike when I take the seat down . Great engineering! I would highly recommend Shotgun Pro Child Bike Seat and handlebars to any mountain bike enthusiast. Well worth the money.
