Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens Leica L Mount
Sigma 14-24mm F2.8 DG DN Art is a wide-angle zoom with remarkable resolution that is perfect for full-frame mirrorless cameras. One FLD glass and five SLD glass elements are appropriately arranged to suppress chromatic aberration to the edge of the frame. Three aspherical lenses, including a large-diameter aspherical lens at the foremost surface, are used to effectively minimize coma flare, etc., thereby achieving mind-blowing resolution. The super multi-layer coating is combined with a newly developed NPC (Nano Porous Coating)*. The lens has been designed to be less susceptible to strong incident light such as backlight. Incorporating a stepping motor enables the high speed, quiet AF drive. Shooting is comfortable even in target AF such as Face/Eye Detection AF and during video shooting. The AFL button which can be assigned with various functions widens the range of operations available on the lens. Furthermore, the lens features a dust- and splash-proof structure, along with a water- and oil-repellent coating on the frontmost surface of the lens, which further supports shooting in various environments. The lens comes with a rear filter holder equipped with a fall prevention lock for attaching sheet type rear filters for shooting starry skies.

I was looking for a new landscape lens and decided to put down some money on this Sigma 14-24 for Sony. What a beautiful lens it's turned out to be. Sharp all across the zoom range, even at f/2.8 and fast autofocus. While it is a little heavier than my other lenses, it hasn't been a problem. The bulbous front element must be protected and cleaned often. My order was supposed to come w/ the rear ND filter kit, but it's on back-order so I haven't been able to test those out yet. 5 stars from me!

Image quality is excellent and this is a very capable lens. Eye-AF works extremely well and nails focus every time and the lens is sharp even down to f1.2. The color and contrast are great and the bokeh is smooth. The build also feels solid and I love aperture rings. It isn't perfect though. Unless you really know you will use f1.2 a lot, I wouldn't recommend something this big. Its almost as heavy as my old Nikon 80-200 2.8 and is heaver than a 24-70 2.8. Given how good Sony's 35 1.8 and the Voightlander 40 are, you really ought to consider if that heft is worth differences that generally will only be seen in pixel peeping at more normal apertures (if then). If you want f 1.2 then go for it but otherwise think twice. In addition to the most obvious con, which is ... MoreImage quality is excellent and this is a very capable lens. In addition to the most obvious con, which is the giant size, the biggest issue this lens has is flare that makes it a worse landscape lens than my Voightlanders. The autofocus sometimes will also pulse in and out in a way that my other lenses don't do and struggle to lock onto focus in landscapes with fading light.

Paired with my A7RIII I am very pleased with my results so far. Focus is excellent and the images are sharp. I bought this with an upcoming trip in mind, but have used it to create some interesting images while shooting Indoor track and field. Having the f2.8 was what drew me to this lens....and the price point. I have had excellent results with sigma lens in the past and I feel like this one will follow suit!

Lens gives a balanced fit on the Leica SL 601 camera. Despite fact that it is a wide-angle zoom lens, the size smaller and the weight less than I expected. Operates just as well on my Leica as any other native mount lens. I could not be happier. MAP camera comes through again!
I know that you’re not supposed to use lenses like this for sports. I thought I would put it to the test during a local high school basketball game. What makes this lens work in this situation is that it’s coverage area is much larger than the scene, allowing to crop for a nice, tight image. Really bright. Lightweight. A joy to use. Looking forward to using it more in the future.
Got this for my birthday for work. The lens is good but it's hard to focus on the subject when really close to the subject meaning it hunts for a while. Aputure ring needed to have a lock it's really easy to trigger. Everything else is good sharpness could be better. The bokah is delicate which give a very unique look. Overall good lens
This seemed like a capable lens. This is the second sigma lens I have rented and third lens total that I have acquired from lens rentals. The lens was packaged well, and looked pristine. I've come to expect this from the folks shipping these out. Great job! However, this lens seemed to be off. Calibration seemed sketchy. It found infinity just past half way through the zoom. This made shooting stars very complicated. I know sigma has docks for other lens mounts, but never needed one for calibration when using my Sony A7Riv before.I downloaded and read the manual, checked for firmware updates on sigma's website, even looked for videos to see if others had this issue. I wasn't using a rear filter, just camera to lens. Most of the photos I took were out of focus, and ... MoreThis seemed like a capable lens. I wasn't using a rear filter, just camera to lens. Most of the photos I took were out of focus, and unusable. This isn't my first time shooting night skies and actually had great results with a Sony lens in a similar focal range.I would and will rent again from lens rentals, and will get another sigma, as I've used other lenses from them and come to expect superb quality. I think that I may have just gotten a bad egg.
Up until I got this, every lens I had was a Sony: 20 1.8 G; 90 macro; 16-35 GM; 200-600 G; 600mm f4 GM. This lens is sharper than the 16-35 GM and has a more useful range for me. For about the price of the 16-35gm, you can have both the Sigma 14-24 Art and 24-70 Art and get sharpness comparable or better than Sony and a wider range. Fit and finish of the Sigma lens is great - super solid feel, smooth focus and zoom rings, cosmetically classy, and complete compatibility with the A7RV and A7IV. Definitely worth serious consideration.
It's like in between 10-22mm & 16-35mm. I have not fully tested the lens' maximum potential but that is initially what I've noticed. It does good job on focusing on low light situations, It's sharp, AF is like a native lens or even better compared to other wide native lenses.I gave it 4 stars cause I prefer wider lenses. Sigma if you read this make us a fisheye AF lens f2.8 or an ultra-wide angle lens like 8-12mm or 10-22mm, that would be sweet!
Fantastic combination of products, Adorama is always able to put together great deals! The ND filters slide right in and they?re easy to use. The lens is extremely sharp and has a great build. 24mm is already an iconic focal length but worry not if you need to go wider. At 14mm, you can capture the Milky Way galaxy with a fast aperture of f/2.8 and get all of it. Beautiful foreground compositions can be made with the stars as well. Fantastic astrophotography lens and landscape!
