I've been using Silva compasses for 50 years now. My last one (Silva Ranger mirror) died after 25 years of hard service. I teach navigation skills with my club (vmtc.club) and love the ease of use with the Expedition Compass. The variety of Romer scales is great at pinpointing locations on various maps. Navigation at night is made much easier with its luminous markings. The new addition of !;25,000 & 1:50,000 scales on the lanyard make measuring map distances a lot more accurate.All up a fantastic compass

There's nothing like having a cheap compass for a while to make you appreciate going back to a tried and trusted friend. Good length, love the sticky feet and option to adjust for local magnetic variation is an interesting option. Exactly what expected from Silva.

Great compass, just need some instruction on using the declaration function on it.
Well built and easy to use. Lots of little features that make it a joy to navigate with in the bush. Was also a pleasure to use while teaching navigation to students

A robust, lightweight and technically excellent compass.Has multiple capabilities that I've yet to unlock.The Silva online support & training is good on its use.
Exceptional quality product. I expect many years use out or it. 99 out of 100. The only reason it is not 100 out of 100. Black on orange graphics depending on light is not quite contrasting enough. But that may only be personal preference.
Strong construction..easy to use no matter the weather..the night reading with glow in the dark makes keeping your bearings easy great product
I don't know what to say other than it is so worth the money out in the field. I have always had a very basic compass but this thing is brilliant. Read the reviews on Google. If you do anything off trail or in Alpine enviros etc this thing is brilliant. My first trip out was a breeze with all of the added features especially measuring distances with the strap that is marked in various scales. Just buy it!
