pros The needle holds a steady course, doesn't bounce around like other, cheaper models. Nice and compact fits in the hand well. The bezel is firm and has a rubber ring that enables it to be operated with gloves on. cons (minor compared to the pro's) I mostly use 1:25k scale maps and the scale is a little cramped on the side of the baseplate. It would be better on the end of the baseplate.

I love that BCF staff are friendly & the website as a first port of call is efficient too. They carry quality stock & actually had the stock on hand same day, when others didn't. I needed to replace a lost compass quickly for my daughter. This one is the recommended school outdoor compass & is a gem.

Haven't had a chance to use this item. Looks the business though and hand feel is great. Compact build and robust materials.
Love these compasses.They last for a long time, light - Do Not Require Batteries!They work in the cold too ;-)Easy to use - I always get one with the scale/measure on the side.
Works well, affordable, and easy to use. Plus it has a little string necklace to hang it off things with which is handy.
cant use near metal objects. easily disorientated
Nice compass especially with the lanyard . It was the only one available. Glad it has a lanyard because I wouldn't want to loose it for the price I paid.
I took this hiking, accidentally dropped my pack down a 5m cliff, this was sitting in a pocket on the outside, landed hard on a rock and it still looks new! Very simple to use, compact and light. I would highly recommend
