A NIC or Network Interface Card is a circuit board or chip which allows the computer to communicate to other computers on a network. When connected to the network, computers can share websites, files, printers and other resources. The most popular networking standard at the moment is Ethernet, which one can recognize by the rectangular connectors with eight wires in them. Wireless network with the 802.11b and the faster 802.11g standard is also increasingly popular, both at home and in the office, though it is not yet as fast as wired (ethernet) network. A public place where you can use wireless internet is called a ““hot spot”“.

I've been having trouble with wireless connection in my house. Although the PC reported good signal strength, the data transfer was quite inconsistent, mostly good, other times terrible. It would occur random times, ie any time of day or day of week. Bought these not expecting too much as they were cheap. Turns out the best investment ever. Been running for few weeks and not a problem. These work really well and half the cost of the other brands.

I'm a professional RF engineer and was skeptical as this is a very cost effective dongle. tested this adapter with a Ubiquity M2 (2.4 Ghz) which has a 12 dBi inbuilt grid antenna. On a 800m shot across the valley where I live I got -72 dBi and seamless streaming video of YouTube.. I'm impressed.

Bought two for a Raspberry Pi board. The initial setup wasn't too easy because there is not much documentation for installing it in linux and the documentation that there is, is not related at all to Raspbian (the Raspberry Pi OS) but after I finally got it running it works really well; it does all that is supposed to do. Great product! Very happy buyer.

Brought as an alternative to getting the WiFi card in one of my old laptops replaced. Works better than the original card, highly recommend I have also brought a second one for a friend whos desktop doesn't have a WiFi card.
I initially tried a simple dongle modem with no aerial but it struggled at times due to the distance to the router. This dongle with the aerial has always performed at good speed.
I bought this to allow my wired desktop computer access to an alternative wireless network. It works even better than I expected and was simple to install.
I'm surprised it works so well. Great signal strength from a second floor bedroom. I think it's because of the quality router we have.
Install CD came with a virus in the software, the dongle performs well in N mode, but AC was very weak and failed to meet expectations. This is suitable for someone who needs emergency connectivity and not really to be relied upon for speed.
It only works occasionally even after turning off power saving in the device manager. Tried it on a different device to the same result. Ended up getting a PCI WiFi card.
for under $20aud this wifi dongle is fantastic. Got my routers signal that previous TP-Link and NetGear units (that cost over double) failed to get. Even bought another. Awesome product
