I needed a serger to help with my sewing needs. I shopped around in stores and online and saw this Singer Serger. I saw the price and had to purchase it. Once I received the serger, Opened the box and read the directions, I was intimidated by it. Once I got over it and got up the nerve to use it, Wow! I Love it. I can finish all of my quilts, Repair all the blanket and quilts the washing machine reined, I thought, until I purchased this serger, hem pants and skirts, finish blouses and shirts, curtains and drapes. It does what I need it to do when working with light fabrics and when I need to use the free arm. Not suitable for multiple or thick layers though. Will need a heavier machine for that.

What a great little machine!!!! It was extremely frustrating in the beginning getting the darn thing threaded!! But thanks to YouTube theres a lot of tutorials on this particular model!! Having owned a fore-runner to this machine I felt familiar with it so bought with confidence. It was exactly as described and does an excellent job for me. I am a home sewer and quilter and love what this serger machine can and does do for me. The machine performs lie new as expected-it was described as new in the box. My 5 little grandchildren now all have new blankies. I am now working on a quilt that is blocks set together with the serger. Tank tops and such are easy with a serger.
I like this machine a lot. It's simple and industrial. The second serger I have bought and I am much happier with this one than the Brother model I paid twice as much for. I ended up returning the Brother. It wouldn't serge through thicknesses like this Singer does. It's fast and efficient. It really gets the job done. The only con to this machine is the threading. I guess most sergers take practice when it comes to threading but I do wish the lower loopers were more accessible. It's really a challenge to get them threaded. Once you do, though, it's a great machine to work on, especially for the price. Overall, I'm very happy with it.

I own a babylock, and other singer sergers, and some other brands, and this serger runs faster, and corners better than the others. This machine also takes upholstery fabric better than my Babylock. It is a great machine for the price. I have never tried one of the 2000 dollar sergers, so I suppose those could be better, but I don't need fancy options. I need differential feed, which this machine is, and I need something that will do flatlock, rolled hem, a few other stitches and do upholstery fabric well. The main thing I use a serger for is keeping the edges of fabric from fraying. This does it fast and corners well. If I want to do more, this machine will do much more. If you want a machine that does all the basics for a good price I would recommend this machine!!
I have wanted one of these for ever and when I saw free shipping I jumped. It was a little daunting since I hadn't used one before or even sat in front of one. I didn't have the accesssory kit so had to go out and get that and thread. So much thread to think about. Over all, I think it is gong to save some time.
The wife is learning and she is excited to use it. She loves her crafts and sewing and was always wanting this machine. She always trusted Singer products and was never disappointed with them. She intends to do a lot with this machine and the only problem is learning how to use it but she will be OK and treading the needles which I can do for her. basically she is happy with it.
I'm very happy with my purchase, thank you. I already use it for making a skirt. It's easy to threading.
