I had a Singer machine that I purchased in 1970 -- it still runs fine but a couple of parts (the spool holder) are made of plastic & have become quite wobbly. Since I have been making a gazillion COVID masks I was afraid one of these parts would break & I would be without a machine. I wanted a basic machine that would last for another 50 years. I think I got that. It has all of the basic stitches plus several I haven't had before. The set-up of the machine is almost identical to my old machine with the exception of the bobbin placement -- on the new machine it is a drop-in. This machine doesn't have a computer -- which is fine with me. I had this machine up and running within a matter of minutes. I am back to making masks again. This machine is made of metal so I ... MoreI had a Singer machine that I purchased in 1970 -- it still runs fine but a couple of parts (the spool holder) are made of plastic & have become quite wobbly. This machine has everything you need. You can saw thick materials such as jeans and leather. It has plenty of stitches including stretch stitches for jersey. You can even get a double needle for jersey as it comes with an extra spool spin. The instructions are in English and in German. Nothing in French.Note that the cable is an European one, so you will need an adaptor for Switzerland. It comes with the accessories below (I have included a picture):General Purpose Foot, Zipper Foot, Buttonhole Foot, Button Sewing Foot, Edge/Quilting Guide, Pack of Needles, Bobbins, Spool Caps, Auxiliary Spool Pin, Spool Pin Felt, Screwdriver, Seam Ripper/Lint Brush and Soft Dust Cover

After pulling out my 15 year old Simplicity machine to sew up some cloth masks for my local hospital (remember COVID-19, future reader? Fun times...) I soon realized that my 15+ year old, rarely used, Walmart special Simplicity machine was due for a replacement. I'm happy that I found this Heavy Duty for my new machine. The overall value for price seems to be spot-on. With all of the external plastic, it feels a bit cheap, but internally it's a workhorse. I'm impressed by the sheer speed and heavy duty nature of this machine, and I'm happy that I upgraded. It chugs right through just about everything I've thrown at it without much complaint, including seams consisting of 4 layers of felt and 4 layers of cotton that my old machine could just barely handle. I love my new machine! My exciting project for the last 3 years has been and is making quilts for the homeless!! I am 84 years old and I make an Average of 100 a year! I love it! It keeps me from thinking about my aches and pain! As I sew I think of them being warm . Thank you!
I am happy with the machine, But I only gave 4 stars because the machine is not the same color as it the picture. I know color doesn't make a machine work any differently but buying this particular one for me was due to the fact that it was a turquoise color, I could have selected this color machine with all the extra's certified refurbished from many other venders if the color didn't matter. But I still love the machine just the same and I did get a great deal, plus it came with a hard case which I would have had to buy separately with another machine. So it's all good & thank you the machine work very well.
This no frills heavy duty sewing machine works perfectly for the multiple layers of fabric (9!) on the masks Im making. My other machine, with lots of bells and whistles, failed every attempt I made to conquered the 9 layered mask folds. This machine harkens back to my first basic Singer sewing machine. I was quickly able to get back on that more simpler horse and plow throw 15 masks in no time! Others remarked on the excessive speed this machine goes. I found the foot pedal easy to use for either slower sewing or faster straight line sewing. Although I used it one full day so far, I believe this is a well built basic machine and I love it!
This easy to use sewing machine is strong and sturdy with a very good top handle. I absolutely love the feel of its sewing power. I also like the very clear and well thought out instruction booklet it comes with. After reading it from cover to cover, I can't wait to use the many designs this machine offers. The accessory compartment is somewhat smaller than the one I was used to. It can hold a dozen of bobbins, some needles and just a few other small items but not all the accessories it comes with. One will need another box or Ziploc bag to hold other needed accessories (not really a big problem). It comes with a cloth cover but no carrying case. This machine does fit perfectly into my older Singer hard carrying case though. Arrived in two days.Works well, was able to sew multiple layers of fabric, thin leather, cotton x2 and also was able to sew real fur on 2 layers of fabric, cotton and polar. Goat skin on polar and cotton. It works quite fast and dosent seems to be to restrain by the materials, it got quite alots of options as stich paterns too. However, for a heavy duty machin, it is way to light, seems empty... If you go too fast, the machin will try to run away from you. The foot pedal is super cheap, realy light and this makes it hard to place it well since its soo light that it gets pull by its wire. Then you have to pressure foot, who is not high enough too be sewing many layers, and it get stuck in the material because of that. Also heavy duty shouldnt need that much stichs ... MoreArrived in two days.Works well, was able to sew multiple layers of fabric, thin leather, cotton x2 and also was able to sew real fur on 2 layers of fabric, cotton and polar. But if you're in need to be working on more then that it might not be for you..
The 4432 does everything Singer say it does. It sews faster than I can keep up with it! It has all the basic mechanical functions, plus a few more, like infinite needle position, auto buttonhole, 6mm width, and some decorative stitches too. It's easy to use, not too loud, and feels sturdy. It does move around a little at full speed, but a rubberized mat on my smooth sewing table solved that problem. The first thing I sewed was a stitch sampler, and all the stitches are perfectly tensioned and even, right out of the box. I never had an auto-needle-threader before, and now I'm completely spoiled. I've used this machine almost every day for six weeks now. I've used this machine almost every day for six weeks now. So far I've pieced & quilted two throw-sized quilts, sewed two ironing board covers of heavy cotton utility fabric + aluminum-filled batting, and now I'm in the middle of a recycled blue jeans quilt project. This machine will sew through 6 layers of denim, although you do have to slow it down over those thick seams. Also be sure to use a fresh sharp needle with every big heavy-duty project, which goes for any sewing machine though. The manual doesn't state it, but you can adjust the look/tension of the stretch stitches by adjusting the buttonhole dial on the right. Not sure why Singer left out that helpful tidbit? I wish the presser foot dial had numbers, but really, unless you're doing some sort of specialty sewing, it does not need to be adjusted anyway. I'm not crazy about the gray color, but it does give it sort of masculine look, like an industrial machine, and will probably keep it looking cleaner over time. Overall I am very pleased with the quality. I believe all the Singer Heavy Duty models have the same motor & power, they just differ in extra functions & accessories. For a fast, strong machine, I highly recommend this one! I love it!!!
