I ordered the Singer Professional c430 a couple weeks ago. First thing I made was a bowl cozy and it went through 2 layers of fabric and 2 layers of batting like soft butter even on the seems. For me the auto thread cutter is a game changer and this makes the 3rd machine I have that has it. I have the Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 and love it, but this one does have other stitches on it. As far as the manual I plan to print that out soon. For help there are videos that will walk you through - one is the other stitches and how to set them up the way you want. I'm making a table runner and wanted to do some simple quilting so picked the curve stitch, had to watch the video that showed how to change the size and it was so simple to do. If you cannot print the manual it can be downloaded as a pdf to save so you can bring that up at any time for help. I also appreciated that I could send this to myself as a gift and the sewing machine box was put in a Walmart box so no one could see what was delivered. Considering the options this machine has for the price it's definitely worth it, very, very happy with this purchase.

Fabulous machine. The automatic tension is so helpful as well as the auto thread cutter. Nice wide throat space. Even stitches every time. I like the appearance too, the way it curves on the edge which is comfortable ergonomically on my wrist and hands. . The alphanumeric characters are nice but a bit choppy. The other decorative stitches are awesome. My only concern is the bobbin, they recommend class 15 which I purchased however the ones that come with the machine look like 15J bobbins. I plan to call singer to double check. Otherwise I am so happy with it. Love the way it sews and all the extra features. It's so pretty too.

Bought this machine about a year ago, mainly for the built in decorative stitches. This is a great machine for medium and light weight fabrics. The decorative stitches are very nice and I use them alot. Am ordering the non stick presser foot today to go with it. I have a 1937 Featherweight, an S16, an 8500 and the C430. Also a non working Singer Treadle. I love my Singer machines.

For the price, this is an excellent machine that competes very well with those costing hundreds more such as the Janome DC5100 and it has features those machines lack such as an automatic thread-cutter and digital upper thread tension control. 810 stitches including 5 alphabets means you won't have any lack of utility or decorative options and 13 buttonhole styles are best at this price point. The screen is bright and easy to read and the machine sews quietly and smoothly. The number of feet and accessories is pretty sparse, though; you may want to purchase some extras depending upon the specific projects you're planning on completing. This machine is priced far below that model and appears to be a special deal between Singer and certain stores such as Wal-Mart. Get it while you can!
After searching the internet for a machine . I decided on the SInger rC430. The prices ranged from a high of almost $400 to the low price at Walmart of $269.95. This machine is a real bargain at $269.95! It has many features found in much more expensive machines such as tie off beginning and end, a thread cutter which ties off both threads on the underside of the fabric and cuts them, audible and visual cues to perform necessary functions, sews through heavy fabrics with ease, lots of built in stitches and several fonts, LED lighting, easily accessible front storage tray, and a sleek modern appearance. It is quiet. Its substantial frame helps the noise factor, I am sure. I am very pleased with this machine! First, the quick start guide is poorly Illustrated for beginners to understand. Second, no instruction manual for the C430 sewing machine unless you access it online. YouTube is the one place to learn how-to-use the C430 sewing machine. Online videos are a drawback for those who still don't use the internet or have access to it. Picking any type of stitches, utility or decorative and modifying them requires a manual, not user friendly. Again, I am thinking for a beginner. I would had given it a four star because of the low price and how well the sewing machine does perform. Stitches from top and bottom are nicely done. I have tried a few utility and decorative stitches and not bad at all. Also, the performance of the machine during sewing is quiet. Although, the stitches did do well but the lack of a hard copy manual made it difficult to navigate through the LCD screen. Speaking of the LCD screen, it is very difficult to use, navigating around the different types of stitches. There is no onboard help menu, either. Below, I concluded if buying the C430 model or any other Singer models may or may not be the right decision, it’s going to be a matter of choice. I wanted to be clear where your money is going and what you're really getting for it. Note; The Singer C430 may do quality stitches but the longevity most Singers products don’t succeed. Singer products are known to fail in a short period of time. Here’s why: This speaks values to Kohlberg
I LOVE this sewing machine. I am a pretty experienced sewer and I like the speed of the machine and the performance. It automatically adjusts tension. It is a computerized machine, probably not for a beginning sewer, and the manual is not printed and included with the machine which is the biggest downside in my opinion. However, the YouTube video is very well done and answers most questions you may have. The computerized stitches are intuitive and fairly easy to figure out even on one’s own by playing around with the machine. The automatic thread cutter is extremely useful- this alone saves a lot of time! The Singer C430 is very quiet and beeps quietly (as well as a green/red lit button) and sews smoothly. It is easy to thread and bobbin winding (and loading into the bobbin case) is a breeze. There is a needle threader and thread cutter, and a nicely lit and easy to read digital display. Inside the top cover is a stitch guide. There are alphabet characters, little flowers, small animals- nice stitches for making creative projects. To me, you cannot beat the value and the quality. it has a sleek attractive design and seems to be well-built. Great for basic sewing and for more advanced projects. I am making masks with several layers and pleats and also use it to make handbags- it does very well sewing through multiple layers of fabric, interfacing, foam, even vinyl and cork fabric. I am very happy with my purchase.
I am a very experienced sewer and have had Singer. I bought this because I gave my One plus machine to my daughter and I wanted the scissor and locking options this has. I am very pleased with stitch quality and range (it is very fussy about bobbins though!). My only issue is that it has been a struggle to learn how to use it and I don't think I have fully explored and mastered all the options even after 12 months of regular use. In the end I had to print the pdf to keep next to my machine for easy reference. It would be useful if it was in sections by language so you could just print by range. I had to print the whole thing and then discard 2/3rds! I would recommend but only for someone with confidence.
I'm not a fancy sewing talent. I do mostly repairs to my clothing, bedding, make covers for equipment, tool pouches, pillows cushions and stuff for my sailboat. My last sewing machine was a singer I bought in 1981, it croaked in 2019. This machine is amazing. It goes through several layers of denim which is critical for me. It puts the most even tension and stitching I've ever seen, way better than I am. The auto thread cutter, needle up/down and needle threader save so much time, amazing. My only negatives are the arm is not that small for hemming pant legs and sleeves you are not going to get really small openings to work. It isn't as fast as my old mechanical machine in terms of stitches per minute, but the quality makes up for it.
An updated review for the Singer C430 from Lou’s Kitchen on Inside My Window. After “Merchant Responded” to my last review, I decided to take another look and test drive the C430 - once again. My review is based on the performance and quality of the Singer C430 model and how well it handled different types of fabrics. First, I must say that the auto tension is amazing! No matter what types of fabric used, the auto tension was spot on. No need for me to manually adjust the tension dial for each different type of fabric sewed; the auto tension was always perfect. Utilities and decorated stitches are good, not perfect, but good enough for a novice. To my surprise, the C430 handled cheap thread with very little breakages. The Singer auto needle threading is still outdated, “hit
