SK II Facial Treatment Oil 50ml

The SKII Facial Treatment Oil was a bit of a mystery to me- what is it supposed to do? It appears that it is mostly intended to be a moisturizer. In this regard, it does fairly well. When worn on its own, my face still felt a little dry, so I added my usual moisturizer to the routine. When used together, the question becomes whether they were better together/enhanced moisturization- and I think it was a little better. The biggest difference is that it gives my face a dewy look with a little shine to it. My hands ended up soaking up those drops, unless they were wet. I found dampening my hands with water and then putting the drops on them helped to transfer it to my face rather than just putting on dry hands. It says to shake it, but I found that it stayed mixed well and didn't really need the shake. The bottle will last forever- it uses hardly anything per day! It was hard to get the drops out- I had to tap it against my palm to get them out as the bottle is glass and can't be squeezed or pumped.Overall, I think it does what it claims to do, and gives a dewy/youthful look- and for this reason, I wouldn't necessarily put it everywhere (e.g. skip the T-zone if you are worried about a greasy look). I am not sure if I would replace other products with this, but it's a nice addition to the morning beauty routine.Please note I received a free sample to try through bzzagent.

I love the fact that the bottle is compact, a little goes a LOOOOONG way. I have been using this for one month now and I still have 90% of the product left!!! The stopper is extremely useful, especially from not going overboard with the oil drops as 5-7 drops is all you need!It's light scent has a fresh soothing fragrance and is really relaxing. I take one deep inhalation before placing the oil onto my face. It quickly absorbs into your skin and is non-greasy and light weight.ApplicationAs I place the oils onto my palms, it is really non-greasy (surprise, surprise!) and it makes application really mess-free! I also appreciate the fact the oil is light and it absorbs easily into my skin. It takes less than a minute to apply my whole face. I follow up with a daily serum.ResultsAfter one month, I think my skin has definitely visibly improved. I can't wait to see the results after using the whole bottle, considering I have only used 10% of the bottle. I'm liking the fact that my dry and highly sensitive skin can handle this facial oil really well, unlike the previous time when I broke out horribly to a cleansing oil. Honestly, I used to fear ANTI-AGING and WHITENING product of any sort because my skin is highly sensitive to potent ingredients of that sort.** I received the product for free from SK-II, but this review is a honest assessment of my experience with using this product and all opinions are my own.

Great, intense moisturization!

As part of a promotion from SK-II I got this product to try for free in return for my honest opinions. I currently have combination skin and I used a daily facial lotion but since receiving this product, I switched. I started by using this oil, according to the directions, on my face every morning before applying my makeup (same as I did with my usual facial moisture lotion). I found that due to the intense moisturization, my skin would get oily during the day. Therefore, I switched to using this product at night before I go to bed, so it can get to work on my skin, and deeply penetrate it with moisture. High-end but not a Miracle Worker

Having heard all the buzz around the SK-II brand, particularly their commercial in China which works to remove the stigma from being an unmarried woman with a career, I was super excited when I had the opportunity to try this product for free, direct from the brand itself! I really had no idea what to expect as this was my first experience with SK-II.First impressions, packaging looks very expensive. It's very minimal but definitely high-end with a glass bottle, rather than plastic (bonus for the environment and no nasty leaching of chemicals from plastic, the negative is that the bottle is not super convenient for travelling). Personally, I found that applying my regular moisturizer first and then this treatment oil after the moisturizer had absorbed was more effective. Using just the treatment oil alone resulted in dry patches of skin the next day, as did using the treatment oil before applying moisturizer. Therefore, I did not find this product to be intensely moisturizing. However, I cannot speak to whether the moisture level would be sufficient on its own in the summer season, in a more humid environment, or used in tandem with other products in the SK-II line.Overall, I would give this product 3 stars because I like what the company has done to be socially responsible, I think the product is a quality product and I like the packaging, and because the product has a pleasant scent. The oil itself is non-greasy, lightweight, and absorbs surprisingly fast. It did not make me break out and has a good viscosity. However, I think this product is too expensive for not being miraculous in terms of its claims to providing moisture.

I will start this review by talking about how a skincare junkie I am, specifically in asian 10 steps skincare. I a huge hauler of skincare. I dont care how expensive it is when it does bring good claims of product i would buy it. I'm using 8 to 10 skincare products daily.I have heard good thing about pitera and SK II and how they were the first and front in asian beauty essence.I have been using SK II facial essence on daily basis for several years and wouldn't look to another brand for beauty essence. This oil feels light on my skin, not greasy at all, a little bit sticky at first but goes away after few seconds absorbed to my skin.. overall I really like how it feels on my skin.The only downside is the dropper doesnt really work that well, so it was a bit hard for me to get the oil out, but thats not a problem at all.I'm so impressed that 5 drops goes along way and actually more than enough, so 50ml will last for along time which is worth the price.Knowing that:Many advantages from of all naturals oils and 'magic' ingredient of pitera;Can easily combined with my current skincare regimens;Value of product that totally worth the money; I will definitely buy this product and recommend this to my friends.I'm a sole believer that great skincare is an investment that way I dont mind at all to spend my money on it.

Not really budget friendly but works like magic!

I've been using the skii essence for a year and a half, and it completely changed my skin from a complete oily mess to relatively normal. My skin now tends to be a bit oily during the summer but kind of dry during the winter so I feel using only the normal essence and my moisturizers are not enough for the local harsh weather. HOWEVER, I also don't want to feel exceptionally greasy. So I tried out this oil sort of blindly because I trust skii so much; and also because it is so expensive that I just assume it'll work like magic...And it DID! It is an oil but does not feel greasy at all. What impresses me most about this oil is the dry, light texture. Every facial oil I’ve was thick and greasy, meaning it needed to be applied judiciously, especially if make-up was coming later. Perhaps it is the addition of the patented Pitera complex that makes this product different. I can apply it a little heavier on days when my skin is extra thirsty without turning my face into an oil slick. Also, it doesn’t breakdown/separate my makeup, so I apply a bit in the morning when I want a little extra boost. The light, fragrant scent of lavender is a little bonus, and I have to give SK-II credit for making it one of the last ingredients, ensuring it is enough to enjoy, but not enough to irritate my skin. I appreciate that and it tells me that SK-II takes their formulations seriouslyAlso, isnt the packaging great? It’s got an understated, modern luxe look that I find very sophisticated and perfect for someone who wants to create a spa-like experience at home. I do recommend storing it in a dark place, as exposure to light can breakdown antioxidants and we don’t want that! I received a sample of this product free of charge in exchange for an honest review. I am cray-cray for all things beauty and I researched every single ingredient in this formula, like I do with every product I use! SK-II's formula absolutely delivers on what it promises. I don't wear makeup, so that's a pretty high (and rare) praise!I've found myself gravitating towards facial oils that contain squalane, which this one does. I guess they discovered the anti-aging properties at a sake factory (this is a Japanese brand) -- where they observed that elderly workers had wrinkled faces that showed their age, but their hands were smooth, clear and younger looking from years of submerging their hands in the fermented yeast. So, this oil contains that magical ingredient to keep your face looking young! Knock on wood, I actually look much younger than I am, and hopefully it'll stay this way using this product.The 'bad':I'm not so much a fan of the (very light) fragrance, but it's not offensive by any means, and not a deal-breaker.It's definitely on the pricier end of the spectrum, but it's also pretty large - 1.7 oz - so it'll last longer than the smaller ones that are cheaper. [NOTE: I received the product from SK-II, but I'm pretty sure they've made a lifetime customer out of me -- so probably pretty smart on their part!]AND, One thing to note, when you're looking at the photo, there are two layers in it. You have to shake it to combine the two layers. About 2 drops seems to be more than enough for my face, though I think some people use more.Overall, I'll definitely splurge and get another bottle -- it'll last a long time and is most definitely worth it for the quality.
