SK II Skinpower Airy Milky Lotion 80g

I received a set of items from Influenster. While I liked using them, I will not be repurchasing. My face wants more moisturizing cleanser and cream and I prefer a lighter texture in facial moisturizer. Maybe I'm just too basic? My favorite facial cleansers are cream to foam and my preferred moisturizers are gel cream.SK-II Facial Treatment Cleanser-- Creamy, works into a nice foam. Smells like something old fashioned and floral- I can't quite put my finger on exactly what it reminds me of. Too drying for my dry skin however I also didn't have any breakouts while using it. I didn't feel any tingle as I do from stronger like the Alpha 14% glycolic. When wiped on using a microfiber reusable round, it felt nice. Didn't notice any odor.SK-II Facial Treatment Essence--Super runny and only requires a few drops. I didn't feel like it added any real moisture, especially after the very drying facial cleanser. I've read that this is something that requires many months to see results, but I didn't stick with it for that long.SK-II SKIN POWER MILKY LOTION--Floral scented. Thick and creamy but left my face slightly sticky/tacky. I wanted more moisture for my skin and would have preferred a lighter feeling. A little goes a long way, however, so I only used a bit more than a pea sized amount for my face.

Considering the trend of “clean skincare,” and the reputation of this brand’s stuff being so high, I was very surprised (and a bit sad) to see they indeed have added fragrance. Still, considering I’d received this to review, I went ahead and gave it a try. To be honest, I did not use it long enough to see if it would cause my skin to have a reaction because the fragrance was too overpowering for me in general, especially since it was on my face, which told me I would eventually have a reaction if I kept using it. While some people may love the fragrance, for someone that rarely uses fragrance-added products, I definitely do not recommend this product. Both because the fragrance was too strong and because it is not recommended for people with my skin type. I was unable to use it for more than a few days because of that. I will say, however, that the quality of the product itself did seem to be very good and high-end. I just couldn’t get past the fragrance, and thus the threat to the integrity of my skin, to use it for longer than I had to.

It’s meant for AM and PM use but for me it worked better at night because of the way it dries on your face leaning a white cast/film (almost a elmers glue like layer). And it didn’t pair well with my makeup (physicians formula) it would pill off and my makeup looked less natural because of the way the lotion dries. At night when the white cast and makeup didn’t matter it’s a decent moisturizer but for the price I think there is much better. The lotion does have a airy gel like texture but it’s thick. Also I battle some mild acne and I did break out a bit but not sure what SKII product could have caused it out of the 4 products I received or if it was just stress. I use more natural products than not and was disappointed to see some of the ingredients in this product as well and that the packaging was plastic. Overall this lotion is just ok and for the high price I will not be repurchasing.

I’ve heard great things about this brand, so I decided to purchase a small bottle to test out. Pretty glad I didn’t get the full size one because I couldn’t get past the extremely strong scent. The smell isn’t unpleasant but it is so prominent that I can still smell it after application. I’m not particularly fond of strong scents and it makes me feel like the scent is dragging down the value of the product. Other than that the product applies on smoothly, absorbs well and isn’t greasy. I’d prefer a less scented version of this, or even scent free if they offered it.

Now I have used another very high-end Japanese skin care line for a few years and was completely in love with it. This line is also incredible as it is similarly gentle and extremely effective. I noticed that upon using it my skin tone changed almost immediately and was a balanced even tone with a natural flesh on my cheeks. I noticed the similar result from the other high-end brand I used to use which is why I love japanese skin care so much. The moisturizer was so silky and my skin felt incredibly smooth. The essence and toner don't have much of a scent but they are so effective and light. The face wash has a nice gentle scent and does a great job of lifting dirt and makeup. Another factor I would like to point out is that this skin care is available in many stores and it's easily accessible from Costco as well. That's something really important to keep in mind because some of these imported brands are hard to get a hold of and this one is an exception. I can't speak highly enough about this brand and although the price point is much higher than I like to spend, I we'll definitely be purchasing this brand and the future.

Hopefully they re-formulate some of these products, or at least make sure the next time they launch new products they're 10x better than these. SK-II Skin Power Airy Milky Lotion - this is my absolute favorite out of the 4 piece skin care system I tried! It give my skin the silkiest feeling! It smells wonderful and is not oily, it’s perfect as an evening lotion or to use under my makeup. This will need to be a staple in my daily routine. I’m so thankful I was able to try it out! I know these products are expensive but they’re worth the money!
