A Great Product

I have used Skinceuticals for over 15 yrs because of its excellent reputation and it does exactly what it says it does. Over time, you will get excellent results (remember, the damage did not happen over night). This retinol 1.0 is very effective. However, although it is creamy, it does not glide on as smoothly as another brand I had that literally spread and felt like silk. A pea size of retinol is all that is is needed on the face; and the easier it glides on, the less amount you find yourself using. I will be ordering my previous retinol once done with this one. Nevertheless, I give this product an A but not an A+.

BEST RETINOL Cream By Far!

I have used this retinol cream for years now--I used to use the stronger dose but started using it less due to sporadic peeling which could be a nuisance and untimely. The lesser concentration is not enough for me as I am now nearly 50. I use this retinol cream every two to three days to maintain tight skin and help smooth skin, reduce discoloration and pigmentation. (On evening 2 or 3, depending on tightness, I do a mild peel to remove lightly peeling skin and prepare for the next retinol use.) I have always had hyperpigmentation, past acne scars and larger pores on my forehead, nose, around mouth, and on chin. I highly recommend this anti-aging, skin tightening cream to anyone!

BEST RETINOL on the market without prescription

I've been use Skinceuticals Retinol 1.0 for over 10 years. In the beginning I started with 0.5 once a month . Then I used it it 2x a month for a year. Then I switched to 1.0 strength and use it every 2 weeks. I use Cerave PM moisturizer first - and then I apply the 1.0 retinol over it to reduce redness of my sensitive skin. The next day I use rich moisturizer Vichy Aqualia Thermal rich cream to replace the peeling with moisture until the peeled skin is gone (4 days). I also use Elta MD clear SPF 46 every day. You have to use SPF if you use retinol products. Another product I use every day is Good Genes that is a MILD exfoliant. Your skin will glow. Helps exfoliate dimpled skin

I started with the 0.3 retinol. On my jaw line I had a dimpling that looked like I might have had acne in the past, that left scarring. The dimpling was actually skin not sloughing off fast enough. I had tried other retinols but did not see a result until I used SkinCeutical. My twin sister, with the same issue bought our first 0.3 retinol from a dermatologist at a laser clinic in Carleton Place, Ontario. Her results were great. Incredible for hormonal acne

This retinol saved my skin when nothing else could. I’ve been struggling with hormonal acne for 3 years after stopping birth control and have tried everything topical, including prescriptions. I found things that helped, but nothing that prevented the big painful cysts from coming back and leaving behind dark marks that took weeks to fade. I decided to give this a try since I’ve never had a bad experience with a skinceuticals product and I’m shocked at how well it works. Not only has it almost eliminated new breakouts, but it fades marks in days. My skin is clear for the first time in years. I feel like myself again and am finally not self-conscious without makeup for the first time in years. I’m excited to try the .5% when this tube runs out.

More pros than cons

Of all the Retinol and Tretinoin I've used so far, this is the mildest and yet effective product. It does not make my skin break out, not over drying, no redness and only very little to no peeling. However, one good tip that everyone should know when using Retinol/Tretinoin products is that the cleansed face must be COMPLETELY dry (including hands) before applying it.It is absolutely fine to use other serums/products prior to applying Retinol/Tretinoin but again, face and hands MUST be dry otherwise the skin may/will turn red resulting in redness and eventually peeling.Another important note is that when Retinol/Tretinoin is used, SPF50 is mandatory during the day. New holy grail!

This product was r3commended to me after a facial. As an adult, I have struggled with hormonal acne and no skincare routine could eliminate these breakouts. After just two uses of this retinol, my skin is smooth and clear. It quickly removed any breakouts I had on my face and even lightened previous scarring. I will say, be careful using this too often. I was recommended to use it starting once a week, and impatiently, I used it 3x a week for my first week. I did experience skin flaking (TOTALLY normal) but also had some skin irritation and a bit of a rash. This is of course, user error as I was not patient enough. One use a week is definitely enough until your skin can tolerate more. Super happy this was recommended to me! I only wish it was cheaper.

A little bit is all you need to cover your face and neck before bedtime.
