Skullcandy Dime True Wireless In-ear Earbuds - True Black

I got this as a part of a promotional offer and I realise why. The item is poorly designed. It's made of hard plastic that your ears will hurt even trying to put them on. Definitely not for usage for long durations. The whole idea of using a Bluetooth headset is that one can perform basic functions without having to use the phone, this headset is exactly opposite of that. You'll have to go back to your phone because the buttons are so hard on the headset that you'll end up hurting your ears. Pairing is a task. Sound quality is good. But if you're truly looking for a Bluetooth headset, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, NOT EVEN IF YOU GET IT FOR FREE.

Dime Earbuds get an absolute five stars from me!

Very happy with the SkullCandy Dime Wireless Ear Buds! They came in sleek packaging, include spare rubber ear pieces and fit snug and comfortably in my ears. I like that the rubber part that goes in your ear is removable because it makes cleaning very easy (I had some ear wax and it got on rubber and it cleaned off super easily without having to potentially damage the product). It was very simple to pair with my phone. Music sounds phenomenal with Dime buds in!!! Stayed in my ears while working out, sweat didn’t seem to be a factor at all. Noise isolating feature is excellent. They charge fairly quickly & the battery life exceeded my expectations. Over 3 hours of continuous use between music & phone calls and still have power. The charging cord is also very short but it’s clearly well made; the length of the cord isn’t a problem for me at all, and I appreciate that the cord isn’t cheap like some electronics cords - it’s very durable. Very impressed, and would absolutely recommend these to my friends and family!

Good for the price with some caveats

They don't block much noise which is good around traffic, but I have to turn them up along busy roads. The sound is fine, but not as good as nicer earbuds. They hold a charge long enough (supposedly 3 hours) and then recharge in the case which is nice. Lights on the buds tell you they are charging and another light on the case tells when it is being charged and when it is done.Operations are a little sketchy. There always seems to be a delay with bluetooth and that is the case here, so it doesn't pause right away or play right away. Since it requires two button presses to change the volume it is usually easier to dig the phone out of my pocket than try to double-click multiple increments.People say it sounds like I am in a tunnel or on speakerphone, but they seem to understand me fine even if I am outside as long as there isn't a lot of surrounding noise. Unlike talking on the phone, they can't hear me breathing as I walk and can't really hear me eating and chewing. For long phone calls they are nicer than holding a phone up to my ear and I am less likely to hang up on them.I wish the button was more reliable, but otherwise I am very happy with these.

Impressive speaker audio, not so great microphone.

Skullcandy is a fairly good brand of audio equipment and these does not disappoint. The depth of sound out of these earbuds is great. My only gripe is with the inline mic. There is a mic in each ear piece so you don't have to have a certain one in all the time to receive calls. The mics, however, don't really have great noise cancelling features. The earbuds, as audio devices, do. The mic audio quality on the other end may sound a bit muffled, but is clear in quiet environments. Just good enough for light to medium background noise. On the highway or talking while walking outside is still picked up by the mic.

As the title suggests I love these! I have always loved Skull candy ear buds, but used to find that I would get through the wired ones at a rate of knots, averaging maybe 3 pairs a year.Now, I don't have that issue. I can keep enjoying the bass that made me fall in love with SkullCandy without worrying about fragile wires!Once I'd got the correct size bud, they fit snugly in my ear with minimal need to readjust and are as noise cancelling as I remember.The only issue I have is battery life isn't great. I'm a heavy earbud user and my previous earbuds would last at least a whole day without having to recharge, but these are only a few hours before having to put them back in the case for an additional couple of hours, but that's probably an indication that I listen ... MoreAs the title suggests I love these! Poor build - Great sound

I was lucky to get to test these on behalf of the Tested For Life program and was hoping to test another great product. Unfortunately this was not the case with these earbuds.I will start off with what I thought was the best thing about these earbuds by Skullcandy. For the reasonable advertised price the sound quality surprised me. They had really good low bass sounds and great higher clear levels for vocals etc. Overall the volume levels were not too bad in comparison to other earbuds in this price range.Other than some design and appeal of these earbuds there wasn't much more that was great. Luckily in most cases I just needed to pair that earbud again which only takes a few seconds.My biggest issue was with the control buttons on the earbuds. The buttons take so much pressure to press and activate it actually hurt my ears to press them. This was just to power on and off or just a single button press. It was nearly impossible to do a double tap (if you can even consider it a tap) as it took so much to click the buttons once. This pretty well made controlling music, answering calls or using voice control nearly useless without using the controls on your phone. So during testing I pretty well only used them for turning the earbuds on or off when needed.With all of this said if it wasn't for getting these through the tested for life program I most likely would have returned them. With this said maybe my item I received had faulty working buttons and others may not have had this issue.

SKULLCANDY DIME BLACK WHEN COMPARED TO SKULLCANDY JIB TRUEMy first ear buds were Skullcandy Jib Trues, and I really really loved the sound. I work at a bar, and when I put them in, I couldn’t even hear the jukebox. The noise cancellation on the Dimes is perhaps a bit less effective, but that’s fine because it’s safer to not be so cut off from other things. I admit, I wear them while driving, among other activities. Being able to hear an approaching ambulance, for instance, is optimum 🙂. The Dimes fit and stay put better than the Jib Trues. The sound is still phenomenal. The rounded portion of hard plastic nestles comfortably within the concha of my ear. With regard to case fit, the Dimes go into the case much easier. While the magnetic case closure on the Jib True is cool, the lid tended to snap shut while I tried to remove or return the buds. Not so with the Dime case. I also find it’s easier to grip the buds to remove them. I like being able to know whether the buds are in the case without having to open it first. I’ve been known to remove the buds from my ears and put them in a pocket only to find they hadn’t been charging when I needed them next. In sum, while the Dimes are less effective in noise cancellation resulting in a smidge less sound quality, the Dimes are my preference.

Skull Candy has made better in the past and hopefully will get back to making great products we little people can afford.

So far they are NOT one of Skull candy's good works. The buds have 3.5 hours of life but t he box has 8? What good does that do? Yay! They can charger longer than I can utilize them😒. They disconnect randomly mostly the right side. They do not cancel out noise, and they are NOT water resistant, got them splashed once and couldn't get them to connect properly afterward. They like to slide from my ears, so I wear a head band across my ears to keep them in, It doesn't matter what size ear piece I have on the buddy. They're easy to lose but that's all ear buds. I can't seem to navigateSound or track, only volume, and play (even after watching a youtube video, I'm dislexic, and the instructions are tiny)The bass is subpar for SC. They're 10$ less (or were when I wrote this), Their ear bud life if like 6 or 7 hours per FULL charge (i forget exactly), that's nearly a full day's work.... They ACTUALLY cancel out noise and they stay connected until I disconnect them. At almost, 80$ for 3 sets of ear buds, and still had to buy the Onn set, can't say that's a steal. I NEED my ear bud so I can't just not buy them. I have panic attacks without them. I have been using Skull Candy's since 2009-ish when I developed pregnancy induced social anxiety, it was a cute little inexpensive over the ear pair. I then proceeded to buy 2 pair of Hesh (Hess...). I adore SC, have for years, but I am so disappointed, mostly because I don't have the $$ to waste on ear buds. They're very cute, they do have that going for them. If all you need is 3.5 hours them this is the pair. If you have to have one ear free at all times. This is the pair. If you have larger ear canals, this is the pair. Super shitty.

Honestly, I think it's a waste of money. The sound quality is super poor. It doesn't connect automatically with the phone as so claimed. The left earbud is very troublesome as it never ever connects on its own. The company's warranty policy is super shitty. The customer has to ship it to their customer care in Delhi to get it checked or whatsoever. I live in the south most part of Tamil Nadu let alone India. And the shipping would cost me a good amount. Considering the product price and the reshipment price for the replacement or repair. This product is totally not worth the pennies. I Honestly feel that skullcandy is overhyped. nice for$ 20. but they have some problems

I really like these earbuds , the small size doesn't look like a tree branch growing out of the ear . ( My phone has a equalizer so I can adjust the sound to my liking ) . Don't expect to realistically use the control buttons on the buds as they are very hard to press without feeling like you're pushing the bud into your head . I've never had a problem with phone calls , everyone seems to hear me good enough . I've had these about a year or so and just recently encountered my only problem being the left earbud will say battery is low after about 6 maybe 7 minutes then shut off automatically but the phone Bluetooth app says it is fully charged . I have tried several things to correct it but haven't found a solution YET .... I guess I gave the DIME three stars because of the size and sound quality ( with equalizer ) but I don't think I would spend more than $ 20. - for them since the control is impossible to use when earbuds are in the ear and YES ! I think if Skullcandy wanted to make me believe they make a quality product the less expensive models should last as long as the higher end models . I realize twenty dollars is at the extreme low end of the earbud spectrum but it doesn't help me any if they have to be replaced every year ....
