I don't typically shoot with a tripod, so I didn't want to invest much, but I needed one that could shoot straight down for scanning film and this one popped up on sale. There aren't a lot of reviews online for this model, which is surprising. Perhaps Smallrig didn't sent enough youtubers free test models. Anyway, this tripod is super sturdy and versatile. You can shoot very low to the ground, straight down, vertical, horizontal, upside down, you name it. If you want to go super lightweight, you can convert it to a monopod. It has bubble levels and it's easily adjusted, if you need to be precise. I can tell it's going to last me at least a decade with how solid it feels and because it's so versatile, I may actually use it a lot more than I originally planned. The package included a few really nice extras; a cell phone adapter, a weight bag to hang on the tripod hood for stability, and a high quality case to put it all in. Another plus is that the plate is Arca Swiss and I can throw my camera cage on it quickly. I own a couple other pieces of gear SmallRig so I trust the brand for quality, value and design, but I know people think of other brands first (Manfrotto) for tripods and I'm sure those are great too. However, if you're on a budget, or you like me and you don't want to spend $300+ to get the features you need in a tripod that you may not use everyday, this is the one.

I was looking for a tripod that was easy to use since I’m a bit of a novice. I use it to create social media content for my micro-bakery. I am very pleased with it. It was exactly what I was hoping for.

I haven't been using the tripod much yet, so I haven't had the need to use the lateral column.
I was looking to upgrade to a new tripod for my new and heavy setup. Something that could get me different angles, low and closer tob he ground, can handle a heavy lens and definitely not break the bank.My heaviest lens is the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 Sports. It's the DSLR version and I use it regularly on my Z8 too via the FTZ II adapter. Sometimes I'll have the SB7o0 flash unit mounted for some bounce light. My D750 has a vertical grip attached and I'm saying all this to give an idea of the setup. This tripod handles all that weight like a champ. No slips or whatsoever. The ball head is easy to control, has that fluid smooth pan and doesn't just go zip zap. I'm roughly 6'2 and when fully extended, the camera reaches eye level. I don't have to bend down so much to compose the shot. Yes, I can use the camera screen, but I prefer the viewfinder. The tripod comes with a good carry bag with the necessary tools. Might be a bit heavy, but it holds my gears without issues, so I'm not complaining.
