A happy choice for my first smartphone!

This is my first ever smartphone so I asked friends for suggestions and was recommended this model. I also looked at helpful online reviews. It's a good price that I was happy and able to pay to own a phone outright rather than lease one in an expensive contract. The screen is attractive and easy to use, although the date display could be bigger (the time display is massive!) Logging in is easy with a PIN. I am learning to add and use Apps and find voicemail messages. I have to charge it more often that I expected but that's because I am playing with it and learning daily while we get used to each other. I still use a laptop for emails, research and documents.I love the camera! The portrait feature is completely useless as it can barely capture a face as the blur/softening/depth of field effect is so overdone. Fantastic value beats my S22!!

This is what I wanted my Samsung s22 to be!! Really fast switching between apps and menus, screen size is perfect and nice and bright in the sun, no problems seeing the screen at all. I’m a bit of a nerd when I start looking for a new phone I compare and read reviews watch reviews for hours but I’ve never looked at phones this cheap before. I’m glad I have I love it and promptly got rid of my s22. The battery is unreal I was playing games on holiday from 9am and the battery still had 36% by 8pm when we took off and it charges really fast on my 25w charger. The camera in general is alright but nothing special unfortunately, the only disadvantage vs the Samsung s22 but that’s to be expected at this price so don’t take that as a complaint, it’s so good in every other ... MoreThis is what I wanted my Samsung s22 to be!! Overall an absolutely cracking bit of kit, I don’t think you can find better for the money

A real performer in a modestly priced Android phone. If looking something that would last years, has good safety features and not going to weigh your pocket or handbag down, this is the phone. Runs on Android 13 featuring RCS messaging, built-in antivirus and spam filter. The vegan leather is beautiful. Be aware that there's no headset. This is a plus in my opinion. You can use your favourite headphones and enjoy the richness of Dolby Atmos. The cover is on the phone from the start. The 128 gig HDD plenty of space and the micro SD card slot gives an option to back up and transfer files. Camera is fantastic.Truly clear pictures and videos. The 120hz refresh rate is a gamer's delight. The macro lens is surprisingly good for a 2mp lens. Tons of features to explore. ... MoreA real performer in a modestly priced Android phone. Moto g54 5G Great budget phone
12 April 2024

I got this for $249 as an upgrade for my 76yr old mum. It was easy for me to set up and transfer stuff from her previous android phone. It charges quick, runs smooth. Mum can use it same as other phone except this is faster is running Android 13. It is secure and has blocked alot of spam messages and calls. I recommend getting a good case with sliding camera protection. Camera is top notch for the price. I backed up previous phone contents carefully to google prior to initiating the new phone set up. I strongly recommend you do that to make the new phone set up as smooth and streamlined as possible. It is absurd how good this phone is for the price.

Motorola G54 - Buy Today- You Won't Regret It!

Thanks to all the previous reviews who took time to write about this phone.live in the UK I was considering a Samsung A14 4g but I read it was slow. I then considered an A14 5g which also had some issues. My next 2 options were Motorola G54 (around £160) or the Honor Magic 5Lite (around £199) and some other phones around this price. After looking at numerous reviews on Youtube for these phones and a number of alternatives I decided to purchase the Motorola G54 (8Gb Ram – 256Gb storage- but can be expanded to 10Gb Ram using Ram Boost software option)See also the excellent reviews of the G54 here:https://www.techradar.comhttps://www.notebookcheck.netFIRSTLY- AUDIO QUALITY FOR DURING CALLS WAS EXCELLENT WHICH IS ESSENTIAL FOR ME. I can honestly say that call audio quality is as good if not better than the Samsung Galaxy S10.Here are some reasons to purchase the G54:1. Screen quality is fantastic - High resolution and refresh rate up to 120Hz2. Fast but ultra efficient Mediatek 7020 processor and GPU beating most phones around this price point.3. Has Ram Boost option to boost Ram from 8Gb to 10Gb4. Large 5000mah battery with battery saver options to extend the life of your battery5. Takes the same battery as the Motorola G14 Battery as far as I can tell6. Videos on Youtube show you how to replace battery in future7. Camera quality is good but see professional reviews from Techradar etc for their excellent reviews regarding this.8. Comes with a 20 Watt ‘Fast’ charger and phone charges at 15W which is more than fast enough for my needs.9. No ‘Bloatware’ on this phone as it is as near to the ‘stock’ Android as you can get. There are probably some things I have forgot to add to this list as there are so many good things about this phone for the price. In summary, save yourself a lot of research and read the reviews I have listed above. Don’t hesitate, purchase this phone and you won’t regret it!

Nicely packaged - but with flaws
19 July 2024

I recently upgraded from my Moto G6 (which I was happy with) to get 5g and hopefully better features. The 54G is nicely packaged and has a good screen but the experience overall has not been an easy one. First up, when I tried to follow the automated procedure to set up the phone and transfer my apps and data it was a spectacular fail. Several apps, including importantly Gmail and several other Google apps transferred - but in the end had no icons on screen?! On the third go, it was a hard data reset and manually upload all my apps (over 30). This seems to be a poor implementation of the Android on the phone. Is this an issue with the USB port? It seems suspect but I really don't want the hassle of returning the phone and going through the setup process again. Hmmm, well Motorola, it's a decent budget phone - but it could be better ...

Pretty happy with it
30 May 2024

It taken a little while to figure things out as I have previously used cheaper older mobiles but I am quite happy with the Moto g54 now. Good size, large screen but not clunky. Nice to be able to play some GamePass games on it. Battery seems to last better than I thought it would when doing activities like that. Camera seems acceptable. If there is anything to dislike it's the "hello Moto" voice when the phone starts up but it's not worth taking off a star for it. I don't like that some social apps etc were preinstalled but that's the modern tech industry I guess *barf*. Good phone, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something decent and not overly expensive.
