One of the worst products I've ever had the misfortune to purchase. I believed SMEG ovens were superior and, in fact, had a previous one which functioned quite satisfactorily. My latest purchase, unfortunately, is nothing short of appalling - over-priced, over-rated, extremely poor performance - not at all happy.

The oven functions adequately to cook for crowds up to 15. In hi d sight I think a bigger oven would have been better. I still find the blast of hot air onto the face when I open the door distressing and now turn to oven off when I open the door, and then I have to remember to turn it back on to continue the cooking process. This oven is more suitable for a wall setting rather than a below counter position.I think the cost of an additional rack is exorbitant. I managed to find one for $34 rather than $200.

I love my new Smeg oven . It’s a replacement of the similar Smeg model that lasted 20 years . Easy to operate . Cooks everything perfectly . Best part is the light and window and that I can watch my food cooking . Easy enough to install. Installed with an hour . Overall really pleased with my purchase.

Well besides the looks and awesome features that this oven represents, there is the best cooking results that I am experiencing since I purchased this oven.I am continuing to enjoy my baked bread, which came out incredibly nice and crusty outside and soft inside. The apple and custard pies cooked to perfection and did not burn overbake or underbake. My lamb roast came out with the best results, very tender that the meat fall off the bone. All in all, I am looking for Christmas dinner perfection next to try other recipes for the season.
Most of my baking is similar to air-fry.My baked vegetables due to my preference consist of no oils just put them in the dish straight into the oven. They bake in no time.I even baked tarts in it and they came out magnificently cooked the right way with crispy pastry and juicy inside. The same goes for the beef, it turned out nice and juicy, not overcooked. The beauty is that the air circulates so evenly within the oven and it bakes superbly. The rest is up to you to make your baking superb. My next project is to bake crusty bread. I forgot to mention, that I had a large baking tray that could not fit into the other oven that I replaced, which was 600mm in size. This means that the capacity within this 600mm oven has more volume to accommodate larger baking ... MoreMost of my baking is similar to air-fry.My baked vegetables due to my preference consist of no oils just put them in the dish straight into the oven. The SMEG is a sleek looking wall oven with easy to use knobs that don't rely on a digital display to operate. The settings are relatively self-explanatory, however it would have been helpful if the installer had been able to show us how some of the more "different" settings worked as had been promised. It has a self-clean function which I need to swat up on to ensure I use it correctly. The timer automatically turns the heating elements off when the set time is finished but you still need to turn the oven settings to off to ensure the fan isn't continually running. There is an override setting (a hand symbol) that means the oven doesn't just turn off after a time, but I think you need to set a separate timer to ensure you meal isn't overcooked. The oven cooks well, though baking shows that there is definitely a warm and cooler area.
I really like this oven. Dials or knobs are clearly displayed and simple to use. I made a cake 2 days after having this installed, and it turned out great. This oven has what I need and want, without all the unnecessary bells, whistles and digital clutter that I don't want.. The build quality appears and feels solid. It is also very responsive and quick to heat to the desired setting. Its worth ever penny that I paid for it. I highly recommend it.
All ovens are different you have to get used to each one. This oven is easy to use no nonsense unit with no plastic and somehow its managed to avoid a digital screen. Heats up quickly maintains its temperature within a tight range. Has a good light inside. If I have a criticism it would be that the timer is a bit arbitrary and difficult to accurately set a time. But again its getting used to a new oven, I just use the timer as the on switch and then I set a kitchen timer because I am a bit deaf and the alarm goes on for longer on a kitchen timer rather than just the "ding" on the oven timer. It is triple insulated and you can take out the top glass as well as the door and the element for cleaning. I like it! Cannot say much more about it because I haven't used half ... MoreAll ovens are different you have to get used to each one. Seems to be functional and easy to clean without chemicals. The size is smaller than my original one. Features seem to be adequate at this stage but will need more time and use.
The oven looks great but I have yet to use it..I have never had a fan forced oven and I am in my nineties so I was up for a challenge..The badly laid out manual in small faint type had more to say about cleaning tge oven than using it. The total cooking information was a two page centre fold with a summary table of settings. I had to print this enlarged to make sense of it.Also I think more information about cleaning products plus a sample pack would be helpful.I fell that having paid $1500 a nice colourful recipe book would be helpful would be tge minimum. As a result I have not yet used the iven. Some better videos on YoyTube would help too
