Each burner is fitted with a flame failure safety device, meaning that if the flame is extinguished, the gas supply will be cut. To make cleaning easier, the pyrolytic cleaning function safely heats up the oven to high temperatures which turns any grease and dirt into a fine ash which can then be easily wiped away.
