Smeg Mff11Rdau 50's Style Milk Frother in Red

This replaces a lesser frother that was almost impossible to clean and lasted only 18 months. The Smeg version looks fantastic on the countertop and is a dream to clean (I haven't tried it in the dishwasher yet). It's a tad noisy and slow, and the frothiest froth is perfect for me but might not suit someone who wants an airier finish. It's ridiculously expensive and a triumph of form over function but I like it very much. Delivery from AO was super speedy and efficient.

Doesn't heat milk to hot

No. I would not recommend this Smeg Milk frother. The temperature can not be altered so you have to accept that your milk must be consumed within SECONDS from when the product beeps that it is complete. I would describe the temperature of the milk as just above tepid. Certainly does not heat to a nice hot drink temperature. If I knew this, there's no way that I would have purchased this. So shop around for a frother whereby you can create HOT drinks. Luke warm drinks is very frustrating when you want to make a hot chocolate or something. Shame. Because it is a very attractive and compact design and looks great in my kitchen. But it's all glam and no substance. It's certainly put me off purchasing any Smeg products in the future. Elevates my mornings!

This Smeg Frother is excellent and easy to use and clean. I’ve had other frothers that were tricky to get completely clean but the unit that holds the milk can be washed in the dishwasher so I know it’s clean. There are no wands to connect either. It works with two magnetic disks, one for frothing and one for warming milk, that sit on a small post at the bottom of the frothing container (I wash these by hand). There are easy to use settings for cold or hot foam, stiff or light foam, or hot chocolate or just heating milk. I don’t have to guess at the temperature, just select the setting I want. I like hot sturdy foam with my morning coffee and the foam the Smeg produces far outperforms any other hand held or wand frother I’ve used in the past. Great looks, bad quality

Unfortunately, the product is bad quality. I cannot believe that an item with this price is wrongly fabricated.The silver colour of the base broke away in flakes after only using it for a few weeks. Returned it immediately. Flakes of the colour got into the food, this is clearly a very unsafe way of producing a kitchen item. Really sad, as I liked the product. I hope it will be replaced.

This is essentially a decoration for your countertop.I got this as the 'treat' for myself on our wedding registry and it has caused nothing but fury. It was not long after I received this that it stopped frothing and made a terrible grinding noise regardless of the configuration of the magnets. I replaced all of the magnetic pieces to no avail. To replace the pieces I had to order parts from over seas that took months to arrive.Their customer service is not reachable. I am going to try to return it thru my wedding registry but I cannot say this enough DO NOT PURCHASE THIS.

Looks Good BUT!!!

It's a good looking machine and compact. But it fails to heat milk to a nice hot temperature. By the time you pour the contents in to a mug, it's tepid. This is because, the machine stops when it reaches its automatically set temperature and the user is unable to change this setting. So, there's no way of getting hot chocolate or hot milk. The frothy setting is VERY frothy, so you feel you are drinking air, because the liquid is on the bottom with layers upon layers of froth. This machine is all frills unfortunately. I definitely think there is a huge gap in the market for a really good frothing / milk heating machine. Just a milk steaming machine would do the trick. I mean, who likes luke warm hot chocolate??!

Lovely hot frothy milk

We love this as a family, my son loves the hot chocolate it makes with chocolate powder and milk, supposed to be even better with chocolate flakes but we haven't got round to that yet. I love the frothy milk on its own and my partner likes a double espresso with just froth on top. I also like to top my flask up with the hot milk rather than cold to keep it hotter for longer. It heats the milk to a really good temperature and has different settings for the amount of froth you want. You can also heat up a large amount of milk which is handy. Sits nice on the worktop, had comments about it straight away. Easy to clean too.

Really not as great as everyone made out

We are long time Velvetiser/Dualit milk frother people and really hoped that this would do the job of both. It doesn't. The frothing of the milk for cappuccino is too aerated and not dense enough. We tried lots of different sorts of milks. It shouldn't be this hard.The hot chocolate was just okay and not a patch on the one the Velvetiser makes.If this works for you, great, but for us it was a machine that did lots of things...not very well.It looks good though and the design of it is good. The stainless steel jug and cover is machine washable.

SMEG Milk frother

I purchased the SMEG Coffee machine and SMEG milk frother, both in red online last year. We had them.in storage until a few months ago.WOW, these small kitchen appliances are awesome. We are not big coffee drinkers, but use these nealy on a daily basis. I have ordered Cashmere White Chocolate syrups and ORO midi coffee capsules.The SMEG coffee machines works brilliantly and makes a lovely smooth coffee.The SMEG milk frother is awesome, making a nice flat white with some extra frothy milk, coupled with dusted dark chocolate. Easy to clean, ready for the next cuppa.I have had NO concerns with its performance or mechanisms.Love the design, which is what I wanted.

We Really love this pink smeg milk frother

I really love it. My nespresso one didn’t make enough and always spilled out milk. So we plan on taking the little neapresso one with us on vacations and keeping this beautiful pink smeg appliance on the counter. This smeg one is easy to clean and there are no messes. Our cuisinart coffee pot broke after 5 years. I really wanted a pink smeg coffee pot but after careful consideration we went with a pink moccamaster since they say they last at-least 20 years and make great coffee. I still felt depressed that I didn’t have a pink smeg anything and was very happy to see the positive reviews for their milk frothers! We have made matcha tea and hot chocolate in it too! If I had to do it all over again, I would have gotten a yellow, white or blue moccamaster instead of pink because the two pinks clash and can’t be next to each other on the counter.
