Reviews from websites such as soundguys (no offence, but this was like the only review website I trust until now), can be misleading, Beam gen 2 was not designed for PC usage from the beginning, some functions will be limited, especially when you find out HDMI E-ARC is needed in order to access Dolby Atmos, the full sound experience. I mean sure, I did purchase this without knowing that but... I feel like I just bought something unable to do what it's promise to do. But this will be the perfect soundbar for a small room with a not that big TV. Sound quality is fine, the treble can be a little weak, the auto tune feature can't save it at all, not even tweaking the treble all the way up, doing that only makes it sound bad, like I'm boosting nothing, I hope there will ... MoreReviews from websites such as soundguys (no offence, but this was like the only review website I trust until now), can be misleading, Beam gen 2 was not designed for PC usage from the beginning, some functions will be limited, especially when you find out HDMI E-ARC is needed in order to access Dolby Atmos, the full sound experience. But, it does fulfil its role as a smart speaker, so far, the only button I need is the microphone button, and I never need to press anything else.Recommendation... it is a tough one, I mean it's expensive, that's one reason why it's hard. But if you want a smart speaker and you don't want something too big like the ARC... then you can't go wrong with this, if you want a soundbar for pc, find something else, maybe get a pair of Studio Monitors, they are much more usable and more budget friendly, it's not unusable as a computer soundbar, it's just not really a designed for gamer soundbar, and dare I say, TV was the first thing they had in mind, if you don't have optical connection on your pc... Good luck.

I rented a VRBO for a month and they had a Sonos Arc and I was blown away by the quality and depth/bass coming from this small device.Bought the Sonos Beam Gen 2 and expected it wouldn't be as good but figured I would add the wireless surround speakers and subwoofer later. Within a few days I realized I didn't need any of the other stuff. This little gadget delivers amazing, immersive sound and was a breeze to set up. Turned it up once and had a neighbour complain that he could hear the bass from downstairs. And this guy never once complained about my 5.1 system and I knew I'd made the right choice. I heard a demo at John Lewis (Gen2) and Costco (Gen1). Both sounded fantastic, no different in fact, but I plumped for the Gen 2 as my new telly has a dedicated eArc USB slot which seemed to be more straight forward to set up - and it was indeed...!I was a little suspicious in-store that the Beam being mounted on a box was to artificially enhance bass... but actually when I set it up at home the bass was just as good as in store. It sits on an iron mantle piece and is punchy, with a good range of sound. The room is fairly square (roughly 5x5m) with the Beam sitting fairly central and the main viewing sofa right opposite.I have the option of adding a bass speaker, but I honestly don't think it needs it. What I can say is if you are using it in a small or medium sized room, fairly square and you are seated in front of it, you will get a a compact device capable of projecting good music sound or TV (surround-ish) experience... with no need for an additional bass box!Highly recommend!

I really wanted to buy into the Sonos ecosystem but the Arc was out of my budget. I was nervous that the Beam wouldn't be loud enough for our very big open concept living room. Our Sectional is about 11 feet away from the TV. But man does this thing get loud!In the app you can use your iPhone to tune the bar to the acoustics of your room which is VERY nice! You can also adjust the volume in app as well as some minor EQing and much more!It is very compact which is nice and sits low enough not to get in the way of your tv remote LOS when using it.The feature I really love is the center channel that gives great voice clarity and really helps the voices breakthrough and make them easy to hear! You can adjust the bass to make it like a theater with really boomy ... MoreI really wanted to buy into the Sonos ecosystem but the Arc was out of my budget. The Beam Gen 2 is a replacement for a Sumsung soundbar that I bought along with my Samsung TV. We could not hear conversation very welll and the sound quality was generally not bery good. After reading many reviews I selected the Beam Gen 2 as the replacement product that would give me quality sound and fix the problem we had hearing conversations on certain movies and programmes. Wow! - Beam Gen 2 did all that and more. Its an excellent product - completely satisfied. The set up was quite easy using WiFi - the main use is to play TV sound / linked to a Sky Q box. I added a link to Alexa which is a really nice bonus. I added a link to Alexa which is a really nice bonus. After a couple of days I noticed that the Alexa connection would drop for a few seconds and then pick up again - the Sonos online chat technician diagnosed that the various WiFi signals were interfering and recommended a fix. Actually I decided to get an Ethernet splitter and make my TV/ Sonos connections to be wired - this immediately fixed the problem and the whole system works really well now. Great product - and great website and customer service / help interaction.
I have waited a long time before choosing this sound bar.I purchased the sound bar mainly for the speech enhancement and clarity and for that this sound bar does not disappoint.I have a hearing issue that makes the speech from a conventional TV internal speaker difficult to interpret sometimes.Setting up the sound bar from an iPhone using the Sonos app is simple but the controls are very basic however simple to use. What disappoints me is the connectivity. I read another review that implies its interaction with older tech is a feature but connecting to a projector and 4k blue ray player has not been all I had hoped for.I have had to use the HDMI to Optical adapter and I occasionally use Airplay both are limiting the sound quality as I don't have an arc ... MoreI have waited a long time before choosing this sound bar.I purchased the sound bar mainly for the speech enhancement and clarity and for that this sound bar does not disappoint.I have a hearing issue that makes the speech from a conventional TV internal speaker difficult to interpret sometimes.Setting up the sound bar from an iPhone using the Sonos app is simple but the controls are very basic however simple to use. What disappoints me is the connectivity. Sonos Beam 2 reviews are plenty on the web. I will highlight my user experience based on using multiple soundbars. I have used LG SL8YG (Dolby Atmos), Bose 500 full Kit, Samsung Q990B(Dolby Atmos) so my review is based on comparing all these brands and models.Sonos Beam Gen 2 is immersive sound in a small package. I am pretty much impressed with the Bass which is comparable to Boss 500 Subwoofer module. I added Sonos Paly 1 speakers as surround speakers. Sonos beam as stand alone is pretty good, once you add surround speakers its next level. I don't see a requirement for additional bass module since the inbuilt one is good enough for upto 200 Sqrft room. You can pick up surround speakers from IKEA called as SYMFONISKWiFi bookshelf speaker manufactured by Sonos, cost 9990/each. This more economical compared to SL one or Sonos Play book self-speakers.Alex/Google voice assistant does not work in India, you have Sonos Android/iPhone app which has most of the user controls. The bar does not come with remote control, you need to use the app for any changes in the setting. Sonos does not have Bluetooth as well, the way it works is with either HDMI (eARC), optical input or via WIFI using the mobile app.I feel the cost is little higher, anywhere between 35K to 40K would have been a sweet spot. Since its fully imported the cost will be higher. This is highly capable system which very good audio quality.
This is not a soundbar that you can have full control of. Can't connect your phone and stream from here everything you desire, but a restrictive gadget. Yes, they say you can link your music Apps through their Sonos App, however, for example: on SoundCloud you can't search for a new song, can only play songs already stored in your playlists. Therefore, on this occasion, you'll be in the situation that can't watch TV programmes, but using it to play from the phone as well as, of course, consuming more electricity. The sound is very good, great quality sound, this is in my opinion the only real selling point.Sonos doesn't have a complete sound equalizing menu for personal preferences, you can only adjust the base, treble and loudness on/off. Doesn't come with a Surround mode as well. The only way this connects with the phone being WiFi (the same way if adding other speakers to it for creating a more complex sound system), I wonder what would happen in the event the internet connection drops. This is ridiculous.Sonos - pay the Bluetooth license so you can join the other big boys out there in the market. They offer all the other connectivity options all in one on their soundbars. Some even offering Chromecast and Google Assistant built in.In my opinion, this can be a great extension for TVs speakers and nothing more. Definitely, not worthy for a price they are sold at the moment.Be aware! Once creating an Sonos account, you can't delete it, on their website there is no account deletion option! If subscribed for their Sonos Radio HD, you can't delete your bank details!
After years of making do with inferior speakers as the prevalence of streaming condemned our good old fashioned hi-fi systems to storage it was time for a reinvestment in sound quality. Following a demo at our local Richer Sounds we had a decision to make, clearly Sonos products are best in class but should we target our first Sonos purchase on the Five or a Beam configured with two SL Ones? It came down to an unanimous family vote, we wanted an upgrade on our existing TV soundbar with a bit of music, so the beam and two SL One configuration won the day (on this occasion :) ). Worth adding that the value of the in store demo cannot be under-estimated, the staff really helped with their knowledge and patience, answering countless questions from the family.Delivery ... MoreAfter years of making do with inferior speakers as the prevalence of streaming condemned our good old fashioned hi-fi systems to storage it was time for a reinvestment in sound quality. Worth adding that the value of the in store demo cannot be under-estimated, the staff really helped with their knowledge and patience, answering countless questions from the family.Delivery following placement of telephone order via local store was super quick.Set up of the beam and two ones as surrounds was so easy using the Sonos app and my word, the upgrade in sound quality from our previous soundbar is immense! What beautiful immersive sound with really nice depth. For the size of our living room, this was ideal and not sure if an addition of a sub would be necessary or overkill. The beam and ones do a great job providing great surround sound with the sonos app providing some really useful features for enhancing film narrative and toning down loud notes at night-time (perfect for not waking neighbours or sleeping kids!). The beam and ones also provide a really nice option of streaming music through Spotify etc and the tunes sound excellent for our living room space. The beam is integrated to use either Amazon Alexa or Google assistant and this works perfectly too.For the curious of you out there, it's also easy to remove the SL Ones as surrounds from the beam if you so wish and instead pair these together as a stereo pair in another room. Calibrating the acoustics for your room using Trueplay is quick and relatively straightforward using the Sonos app but to do this you must have an IOS device.Overall, if you love your films, tv and music the beam supported by a couple of ones will delight you and is really well worth the investment. A purchase from Richer Sounds will even give you a peace of mind through their six year guarantee. We wondered what the fuss was about. We do now, Sonos rocks - it's that simple.
While the sound is reasonably decent, the so called software come App that you need to both set it up and use it is absolute rubbish, and don't just take my word for it go online. To say it was flacky is an understatement, How on earth this company has gained a reputation of producing quality speakers I find quite incredible. I've worked in IT all my life and it took me hours to get the thing to work and even then it kept dropping out, a nightmare. Not counting Sonos make you setup an account wanting all your personal details prior to you being able to try and get the so called App come software to work. This then resulting in emails and notifications from Sonos? As a result of all this and still needing a small sound bar I purchased a Denon 550 far better sound ... MoreWhile the sound is reasonably decent, the so called software come App that you need to both set it up and use it is absolute rubbish, and don't just take my word for it go online. Highly recommended by me and brilliant reviews online. I would never purchase any Sonos product again.
