I confirmed that the same thing happened when she would use a speaker despite my mesh network not being clogged and the incoming service was 200-250Mbps. I was ready to sell all of my Sonos speakers until I picked up the Bridge. I was looking for it before but all of my stores (and online) were sold out of the old Bridge, I had to wait for the new one.The Bridge works and has made life easier. The setup was easy, I just had to plug it into one of my mesh nodes via ethernet, start the Sonos app, and switch all of my speakers over to the Bridge. I don't have any issues now using my Sonos speakers and other online services. AirPlay 2 still works as it should on my PlayBase and Sonos One units as well. It's a little pricey for what it does, I wish Sonos priced it at $50, but the Bridge is a solution I recommend for people who have mesh networks and/or home wi-fi routers that aren't powerful enough. It creates a Sonos-only wireless connection that reaches beyond what most wi-fi routers will. I have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house and the Bridge network covers my entire house (it's also three stories), garage, and backyard without issues. I have 6 Sonos speakers hooked up to it (two PlayBases, two Sonos Ones, one Play:1, and one Play:3) and the Bridge shows no signs of slowing down. The white color stands out from all of the charcoal gray and black in my entertainment center though it matches the white of my Google Wi-fi nodes.I recommend this to anyone who is having issues with their Sonos speakers either slowing down their mesh networks or not being able to maintain a connection to their current wi-fi networks.

The BOOST allows us to avoid any signal traffic interference with our porch wifi network. The BOOST also allows all of the wifi attached Sonos gear to look like a single device to the home network. We configured the TiVo remote control to handle the sound volume on the PLAYBAR and to select between the streaming sources ? Roku or TiVo/FiOS. Sonos made this configuration simple. The PLAYBAR/BOOST combination takes care of making sure the 5.1 volume is set correctly on the PLAYBAR/SUB/PLAY:3s. We were concerned that big sound would be difficult to pull off on a 20'x50' porch given that it was open on 3 sides. The sound field of the Sonos home theater system was mind boggling on every corner of the porch. We could turn it up to drowned out lawnmowers and leaf blowers. We actually mounted the TV/PLAYBAR/BOOST on a rolling cart (from Premier Mounts) so that it can be positioned to best suit where the audience is on the porch, or pushed back out of the way. We could not be happier with the way it turned out.

Installed it directly into the Ethernet port on the router, soon after problems started. Our wifi was dropping connections to equipment left and right. After disconnecting it the problems stopped. Nobody warned us that some type of interference might result. I’d give it one star but I’ll add another since we couldn’t conclusively test whether or not this was the culprit but it sure seemed that way. There was also no noticeable improvement on the performance of my Sonos speaker connection.I foolishly threw out the box so now we are stuck with this thing and out $100. Pass on this.

Fixed Connectivity Issues in Apartment
21 October 2022

To start, I have a system with 8 Sonos products scattered across a 700sq/ft apartment, with a lot of network interference from neighboring units and another building of apartments a stone throw away from my windows. I had been having connectivity issues recently (especially with my Sonos home theater setup), and the Boost immediately solved all of my issues. After attempting to reboot/reset and reconnect my system endlessly, I ordered the Boost. Wow! Such a BREEZE with the Boost! I should have purchased one a long time ago.. Strongly recommend for anybody living in an apartment with hundreds of units and find themselves having connectivity issues

For people with multiple Sonos speakers
15 May 2021

I bought the Sonos Boost because I have eleven Sonos Speakers and one Sonos Amp. There was a slight delay getting my speakers up and running with the app, about 3 to 5 seconds. A friend, who is the person who introduced me to Sonos speakers, said he bought the Sonos Boost to improve his connection for his 4K sqft house. He mention it also removed any lag in connecting to his speakers. Sure enough, I now experience no lag even in my garage or backyard. The setup was easy as long as your 1st initial setup is done close to your router like all Sonos. After that the Sonos Boost is your hub for all things Sonos. I highly recommend the Boost for people who own more than couple Sonos speakers or the speakers are a long way apart from each other.

Gets the job done
27 December 2021

We have a simple Sonos System with Playbase, Sub, and 2 Sonos One SL Surround Speakers. However there are over 17 devices on our WiFi network in a 3000 sq. ft. house andspread over three floors. What we observed was the Surround Speakers dropping off periodically, just going silent. Did a little research and found that the Sonos Boost can solvethis problem by switching the entire Sonos System components to their own (non-WiFi) radio network. Plugged it into an ethernet port on my router, went into the Sonos appand added it to the system and all the Sonos Components switched to communicating through the Boost. The Surround Speakers stopped dropping off completely.

I didn't really need it, but I guess it's cool!
25 March 2022

I picked up a Sonos boost when I was having trouble pairing my older Play:1 speakers as surrounds with my new Arc soundbar after several months without trouble before they dropped. The Boost was quick and easy to set up, and promises a dedicated wireless channel for all your Sonos gear.As for my main reason for buying this, the Boost didn't fix the surrounds pairing issue, but a recent Sonos S2 iOS app update and accompanying speaker hardware update did fix it. So this was ultimately an unnecessary purchase for me as my connectivity to Sonos speakers has always been good with my main wireless router. Ah well, I'll keep the Boost and hopefully this means more reliable connectivity and better performance over the long run!

Must have - Mesh Network and Stereo setup on Sonos
10 January 2020

I had a lot of issues pairing Sonos speakers in a mesh network. The seamless network hopping in a mesh network works great for most devices but for some reason the Sonos Ones I had were having a hard time pairing together to form a stereo setup. There is only one usecase (realistically) that you need this. That is you have a meshed network and none of the Sonos speakers can be hard wired into this network (connected via LAN cable)If you hard wire any of the new generation Sonos speakers to any internet access point they essentially act as the main router (the same thing boost does). Barring that if stereo pairing is not your usecase, you still don’t need this cause individually the speakers connect fine and work very well.So only buy this if you have trouble ... MoreI had a lot of issues pairing Sonos speakers in a mesh network. My Sonos setup has never worked better

So out of nowhere, months after setting up and loving a Sonos Beam and two IKEA / Sonos SYMFONISK speakers (for surround sound), the two SYMFONISK speakers would reset themselves and show a blinking LED, disconnecting from the WiFi.I’m not in a position to use Ethernet to create a wired Sonos network, and also on a mesh Linksys VELOP network. Their support never mentioned this product, but I did more research and figured this may help.It did more than help, I think my setup before (even when it worked) still would cut out intermittently. Unfortunately I purchased the wrong
26 December 2022

Unfortunately I purchased the wrong product. My son sent me the link as he wanted a booster for his home WIFI connection. Because he uses Sonos in the homes he builds he saw the product advertised and thought that’s what he needed. Wrong!I’ve looked on your site in the hope I could exchange what I’ve bought but I can’t see a WIFI extender on your website? Will most likely need to return for a refund. Apologies.
