This really transforms your home in a way you didn't expect. Having been a previous Owner of Sonos ones for surrounds you thought you had everything you needed to "fill". Enter these speakers. With the atmos capability the refined sound profile and the slightly bigger. It not intrusive presence delivering clearer and more detailed sound it's a great listen. Watching Drive to Survive blew my mind. The film Dune took it to a new level for a full test with the Sun and Arc. Music listening is also fantastic. They stand alone really well in a room as a single or stereo pair and the option to finally pair via Bluetooth is a nifty and handy option. Now let's take the better and intuitive touch controls which initially I wasn't a big fan of as I was so used to the classic ... MoreThis really transforms your home in a way you didn't expect. Admittedly, I was used to Sonos's earlier design vernacular so this evolution in their product design caught me off-guard. I suspect this point and even the naming convention will be contentious for some Sonos fans (though I quite like it). More importantly, the Era 300 sounds phenomenal: the expanded width of the soundstage is immediately apparently (especially after a Trueplay tuning) and there's a noticeable precision in different parts of played music. There's a vocal clarity as well that's harder to articulate and pin down (as earlier Sonos products had this nailed down as well) and the music reproduction sounds natural, balanced, and not overly processed. Bass sounds and feels great though I admittedly do not listen to bass-heavy tunes. A pair of these ... Honestly, the Era 300 makes my Five feel obsolete and the Five has been my favorite Sonos product ever.

I bought a pair of Era 300's on release day, set them up in stereo and bonded them with a Sub Gen 3 I already had in my home office. I bought them strictly for music listening as an upgrade to the Ones I roginally had paired with the sub. I have various other Sonos speakers around the house and Sonos Port connected to my nice 5.1.2 AVR setup in my living room as well. In short, I'm really impressed with the Eras for music listening in this configuration. I honestly had no idea how insanely powerful they would be compared to the Sonos Ones they replaced. These things can push some serious air and do so without any sense of strain. They sound quite good on their own but add in that bass from the sub and you have a rich round full sound you would not expect from ... They sound quite good on their own but add in that bass from the sub and you have a rich round full sound you would not expect from speakers of this size. Atmos music mixes can be a small step up from their stereo counterparts. Or they can sometimes be a step backwards. But when you get a good Atmos mix it can be REALLY good, almost 3d-like. Once you've heard good Atmos mixes of music you are familiar with you will not want to go back to stereo. That said, most music is still in stereo and stereo is no slouch on this setup either. But it does depend on the mix and the genre of music a bit. Electronic music, acoustic, jazz, classical or anything else that has a sense of space and air shine on the Era 300's. Dense heavily compressed walls of sound as with rock and punk don't fare as well where the lack of forward facing midrange driver makes the vocals sort of recede a bit robbing them of their power and presence. Thankfully I have another nice setup for stereo listening with my living room speakers connected to the Sonos Port so I am fine with that drawback here. Most of the music I listen to benefits from the Era 300s distinct sound. If these will be your ONLY speakers, you primarily listen to music, and Atmos is not as important to you as full range sound the Sonos Fives are definitely the way to go. You certainly don't need the sub with the fives either. As far as surround Atmos speakers these will definitely perform well. They might be overkill though given how littles bass and midrange sonic information is actually in rear channels. But if you have a big room and an Arc and Sub Gen 3 already these will definitely take the whole system to the next level. The one downside for surround playback is once they are bonded to a soundbar and sub they can no longer be used strictly as a stereo pair for Atmos music playback. Of course you have your entire 5.1.4 surround system to playbackl Atmos music so maybe its fine. Given that a pair of these costs over 900 dollars it would be nice if Sonos woudl allow you to switch between the big surround system for movies and just using the Era 300's to listen to Atmos music. Still, I think most people will be really impressed with the Era 300's.

I specifically bought the Era 300 speakers 'with stands' to replace my rear speakers (Sonos One) to add greater depth to compliment my existing ARC and Sub speakers.Initially, I had some teething problems with the app decoupling my old Sonos One from the cinema grouping. I had to delete the Sonos app from my phone and reinstall and everything worked as it should have.Sonos Ones relegated to the main bedroom and they are (excellent as a pair for their new role sleep music) and Era 300 to the cinema group. The stands were easy to assemble. I did it by myself in hastened eagerness. Someone to help would have been good given the weight of the Era 309.I finished the setup to ensure the placement of my new speakers was ok and finished off with retuning the speakers ... Someone to help would have been good given the weight of the Era 309.I finished the setup to ensure the placement of my new speakers was ok and finished off with retuning the speakers (Trueplay). In anticipation to see if my new investment was worth it, I then put on the 4K Top Gun Maverick movie. To say that I was blown away was an understatement! They are magnificent. The difference between the speakers. I would have to say there is no comparison 'per se' this is a new speaker with fuller, deeper, richer sound. The additional drivers within the speakers are excellent. The ability to have fully functional rear speakers that exemplify ATMOS 4K movies is a game changer. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and have gone on to watch other movies now.On the music front via the Sonos app I was pleasantly surprised with the Spacial sound to the point I sort out some of Jean-Michel Jarre new albums which really demonstrates the enrichment of music through all of the speakers "just amazing'All in all, definitely with the investment
This speaker is located front and centre in my living room perfect to hear the crystal clear Dolby Atmos sounds from my Amazon playlists. Perfect sounds and clarity that this speaker produces has beaten all other speakers I've used before. The 360° sound echos around my living room perfectly and sounds amazing. The Bluetooth connection is perfect for family members to conand play their playlist. I can see this being a great device for family bbqs to take outdoors and let people connect and plat their own playlists. I don't have any other Sonos speakers so can't say how it sounds when paired but with how one sounds I imagine it will be amazing. The speech from Alexa tends to be very low compared to the built-in Sonos voice control. I can honestly say that this device has surprised me on how well it plays music. I've never heard a speaker before that played music so clear that I could actually hear levels in bass that ive never heard before.
It doesn't have a typical Sonos shape or style since it's optimized for upward-facing Atmos sound, but the design really grew on me. It's a bit larger than I would've expected, and placement of it is pretty important-due to the nature of the speakers, you want to have space above and next to the speaker to get the best sound. It has the same great Sonos sound that you'd expect. Although my friends' Homepod has 'boomier' bass, this one has tighter and accurate bass. I actually keep the volume pretty low, at max 30-40, since it's used in a small apartment. The only drawback is currently Atmos/Spatial Audio/360 Audio music (whatever it's branded...) can only be played through a paid Amazon Music Unlimited subscription. Even though I pay for Apple Music it doesn't work ... MoreIt doesn't have a typical Sonos shape or style since it's optimized for upward-facing Atmos sound, but the design really grew on me. Got two of the Era 300 speakers to pair as part of new sound system for a large (1500 sq foot living room). They are sleek nice looking speakers and the setup with updating was no problem. Adding them as a stereo pair and then combining with a Gen 3 Sub also no problem. Performed the spatial audio test/learning thing which was kind of fun and cool to do that. Makes it feel like you're dealing with something cutting edge. Maybe other new speakers from other manufacturers have this and it's standard operating procedure now, but I've never had speakers which have the ability to perform in that manner. Overall Ioved the speakers and when paired with the Gen 3 Sub and a Move the sound in that room was by far the best and most enjoyable it has ever been. I hadn't used ... Overall Ioved the speakers and when paired with the Gen 3 Sub and a Move the sound in that room was by far the best and most enjoyable it has ever been. I hadn't used multiple room set ups and groups yet but the App allows for groups so you can listen to the same music throughout other rooms in the house which is awesome. The only problem is that one of the Era 300 Speakers just stopped working. No indicator light on the front and the App tells you there is a connection error. Unplugged the 300 and re-plugged it back in. Nothing. Seems like it's not getting power. So I tried different outlets and even the cord from the other 300. Still nothing. So I called the customer service folks and went through some of their process to determine what the problem was and they couldn't figure it out so basically they are sending a new one and then I'll just send this one back. I'm sure it's just a defective speaker as the other 300, Sub Gen 3, Move, and One's are all working fine with no issues in regard to operation or power supply. Overall I'm quite happy with the Sonos environment and the quick shipping of the new speaker and warranty switch out also seems totally reasonable and fine from a customer service perspective. It's not surprising to me that a new piece of technology which I assume is in the initial stages of the whole mass production effort might have some rollout issues - which with the "No Power" thing seems to be indicative of something like that. Hopefully the new speaker won't have the same issue.
First, I really love the shape of the speaker. It feels unique compared to what's on the market but blends in with decor. I have a large room and it does a great job of filling it and then some! The bass is overpowering at times so I needed to play with some of those settings. I can see it being usable in an apartment setting but definitely use it responsibly haha! I also loved having the option of Bluetooth for quick connect or to be able to still use it if I'm having WiFi issues. The one negative, where is the Sonos assistant was really terrible. I'm surprised this thing has six microphones because I felt like the assistant couldn't hear me and while I like the idea that it does everything on board it's not very good at processing commands. I already have an Arc which is used with a TV and a pair of Moves used in different rooms. With the arrival of the ERA 300 , I decided to swap one of the Moves to a pair of ERA 300 in a dedicated AV room. Excellent decision! Having paid attention to placements for maximum optimisation, the sound from the ERAs are excellent . I'm still not sure of Atmos music so the jury is out for me as its not consistent across the board with all releases . There needs to be a standard set when Atmos music is issued so that the listener knows what to expect. Atmos music isn't the reason that I bought the 300s. If you wish to get good sound quality; compact size ;software to enable them to work in any room , the ERA 300 is your get to choice. PS. When are you going to make full high Rez music available?
Firstly, I really like the sleek look of the speaker itself; the curves without any buttons sticking out really allows it to be placed in any room without sacrificing the look of your aesthetic. The speaker was incredibly easy and simple to set up, alongside setting up the app, and it really took no time at all. I love that the user can choose whether to connect using Bluetooth, the Sonos app, or through a cable if they wish - however, all of these options achieve the same sound quality. The touch controls on the system are great - not too sensitive and very easy to use. The Trueplay is fantastic and allows you to configure your speaker with the shape and size of your chosen room.
