Bought this for an older family member who isn't particularly tech-savvy, but can find their way around an iOS device. Having native AirPlay 2 integration as well as Bluetooth and Sonos is a great bonus that makes things much easier. Sound quality is acceptable but nothing special. A similarly-sized JBL or Bose portable speaker would probably sound a little better and have a punchier base. Trebles and voice/vocals are very crisp though.

I bought this as a replacement for an aging Cambridge audio portable speaker which I bought from Richer Sounds as well. This is the first Sonos product I’ve bought and I’m well impressed with the sound quality. It’s small enough to move with me from room to room and still give a rich, full sound. Super good comms from Richer Sounds and great delivery. Thanks everyone and have a great Christmas

I’ve been a Sonos user for as long as the product has been around. I love their products and I have a lot of them. The roam however is a serious exception to my usual praise of the brand. Horrible connectivity experience Terrible setup if you have older Sonos products (you literally need to power down all your older hardware just to get this to work) Issues with Bluetooth connectivity The light indicators are poorly descriptive A Bluetooth portable speaker needs to be simple. They have over complicated this product and I can’t see any advantages for it. Do yourself a favour and pass on this one. I’ll be returning my purchase as soon as able and probably purchasing something half the cost for twice as good.

The sound quality of the Sonos Roam is exceptional. Great bass for a portable speaker. I have a Sonos Wifi system throughout our unit. Great sound. The app has always been a little clumsy. Setting up through WiFi was okay, if a little time-consuming. Setting up the bluetooth was another matter. WiFi has to be set up first. I almost gave up on bluetooth when suddenly the blue light appeared.
I have had this product for a few weeks now and am happy with it. The sound is a little worse than other Sonos speakers in my house (less bass) but this can be tweaked in the EQ. Works great as a speaker for using and moving around the house and also pairs via Bluetooth for use outside of WiFi range. Bluetooth can also be used to play Bluetooth audio on any other Sonos speaker on the network so great for this. Probably would only recommend for the price if you have existing Sonos speakers and want it to tie in as it makes less sense as a standalone Bluetooth speaker.
Pretty good little speaker with powerful sound. Easy to set up within existing Sonos household. The Sonos app isn’t great, and has a hard time retaining speaker names, especially if you want to rename them later. They seem to switch back to their old name, which is a pain when you want to get a new Beam for the TV and move an SL into a bedroom, for example. The SL will remember the Living Room. The Roam is in the shower for morning news and podcasts but the combination of small speaker and shower acoustics makes it impossible to discern speech without it blowing out into a distorted blur of noise. Good for music but a shame I can’t use the speaker for it’s intended purpose.

I've been using the Sonos Roam for a few months now, and whilst it's OK when it works, there are too many negatives to really recommend it. The sound is adequate for the size of speaker but certainly not in any way remarkable. Many people have mentioned that it's easy to set up. This one wasn't, and is still erratic and difficult to pair with different iPads and iPhones. It's also not great at holding its charge and is prone to cutting out from the wifi network. All in all a bit of a faff for what should be an easy-to-use accessory.
Bought Sonos Roam recently after comparing to various others on the market. Delighted with this item - gives a powerful sound from a very compact but solid piece of equipment. Sound quality is surprisingly full range for such a neat unit. Compares well to more expensive options so is Good Value. Supplied by Richer Sounds - a reliable operator.

For the size of the device it has a lot of power, I would not take it to a party tho cause while all of the things said before are true, after getting to the 80 to 85% volume it looses bass and it starts to mess up sounds which is honestly very understandable given the volume it reaches.
