I have 2 Sonos Ones operating in stereo mode in a small room about 15' x 15', room 1. Then in a connected room of about same size, I have 2 more Sonos Ones, room 2. Each room is set up in the app etc. I have always been very happy with the sound from Sonos One, but it never came close to matching my living room TV set up with Denon 5.1 amp with Klipse speakers & sub bin or my "muscle stereo" in the work out room that has an old school 2-channel set up with real amps and real big pro speakers. Not surprising. But then I added the mini sub to the first Sonos One room, room 1, where I hang out the most. The difference is simply amazing! It is such a nice upgrade where the music just fills up the space and is now on par with the TV surround sound and "muscle amp" system ... I was amazed of the quality of the sound, and I am so pleased with this product. The only downside is now I am going to have to purchase another one to add to the 2nd room because the difference is so dramatic, I just have to do it! But really in no hurry as the mini bass set up in 1st room "bleeds" into the 2nd room enough to enhance the sound in room 2 as well. But eventually adding another mini to have one in each room is in the future for me. Set up was amazingly simple as the app quickly recognized the mini, updated it, and then added it to the system. Only "tricky" part was I had to lastly "assign" it to a room as it can only be assigned to one room. Everything was completed on an iphone in the app. Easy peasy.

The staff at Watford Richer Sounds were very helpful. I was trying to decide whether to keep my Arc and add a sub or sell the Arc and buy a soundbar with the money. After a demo of a mid range Denon bar I decided adding a sub to the Arc was the best thing for me to do. The sub integrates well into the Arc both in set up and sound. From experience of setting up less smart subs I think the low pass is set to 90-120Hz, so if there are frequencies under that the sub will play them. How loud it plays them is again down to whatever you are listening to. The out of the box setup is, to me, a fair representation of what’s there in the original sound. With TV sound tracks it produces a satisfying bottom end and thump if it’s there. The highest praise I can give the sub is that you don’t know it’s there until the sound track needs it then it makes its presence felt. None of that thud-thud-thud you hear from badly tuned car subs and no vibration from a badly built enclosure. This is a grown up sub, and for the price it should be. However if it lasts (thanks for the free 6 year guarantee Richer Sounds) as long as my other Sonos gear then I’ll feel a bit better about the price, which at Richer Sounds was the cheapest I’d found.

I purchased the Sub Mini to add depth of sound to a pair of One SLs in the living room. Being an Android user I have to say that before I was able to loan an iPhone to Trueplay tune the system it sounded terrible! Extremely indistinct, flabby and bloated bass, even with Sub level set low, and I was not impressed one bit. (I had previously tuned the One SLs as a stereo pair when I got them) so adding the Sub Mini removed that tuning and made everything very muddy. However once tuned the difference was startling, giving much needed clarity back and in my small room there's enough low end on offer to really feel deep notes from certain genres of music. This is credit to how good the Ones are at reproducing low frequencies but the Sub will add those extra 30-40hz that the One's small drivers cannot hit and complete the 'experience'. It's a somewhat costly way to add that bottom end because I do not wish to use the Sub for a home theatre set up but it looks cool sat neatly under a small table and is the solution I needed from Sonos, as the big Sub, as awesome as it is, is just silly money for what I am looking for and the space I live in.

I always wanted the big sub but thought it would be overkill. Especially because I have kids and they are usually go to sleep early. I Obviously didn't want loud bass to wake them up. I was so happy when I saw leaked images of this on The Verge because I knew I was going to get it way before it was announced. This new sub mini is perfect in that it provides more bass than the arc but not so annoying that it wakes kids up at night. Sometimes I use the "night mode" in the app but it kinda defeats the purpose. It's also nice that it's not very noticeable during commercials. So far I have been impressed with how powerful it can be for such a small package. I only have it set to a little over 50% normally. So far I have been impressed with how powerful it can be for such a small package. I only have it set to a little over 50% normally. When we all get together and watch movies, I can turn it up and it provides more power than the standard family room needs. (I live in an 1800 sq ft house with a larger family room). Some people think the price is still a little high. Considering it's wireless, loud and I didn't have to run any wires, I strongly disagree. I'm coming from an older wired Bose jewel surround speaker setup with that HUGE sub. I never had a place to store the sub & receiver and all the wires needed to be connected to it by the TV. It was truly an eyesore and annoying. This solves all my problems and I hid the sub behind the couch so you don't even know it's there. my whole setup is extremely clean and sounds great. Thank you Sonos for considering people who have less space and nowhere to put audio equipment.
KISS does say it all. Good quality product. The Sub Mini does help reduce load from the Beam Gen 2, and overall sound quality is improved. Small footprint is great for WAF! Trueplay? Very simple compared to other calibration, with a SWAG result of 8.5 out of 10 for more hands on calibration methods, like AUDYSSEY. For the price point of these two simple, well built devices (Especially when on sale!) - the TV Voice Audio and HiFi from Streaming - are more then I expected. High End HiFi? Nope - but certainly did not expect that going in. Supper Customer Support. Good overall software. My two main suggestions to SONOS: 1) The costs towards 'Presentation Impact' of the packaging, to me, would be better spent in adding a Bluetooth Chip; 2) Price point remains too high, ... Super for casual, larger group gathering, music.)I recommend SONOS.
I have a Beam Gen2 soundbar which has proved great value and an excellent upgrade over my older TV sound-base. While the Beam works well for its size and has great overall sound quality, it unsurprisingly lacks a little depth in the lower bass area, so I decided to buy a Sub Mini at the beginning of February 2023.First thoughts were that the Sub Mini made only marginal improvement in the sound, and with trial and error I found that the bass boost EQ in the S2 application works at too high a frequency for use with a sub. For my ears, the best way around this was to ensure that the "Loudness" was off, set the bass to "0 or less" and use the separate sub volume control to enhance the lower bass. This worked fine for a few weeks before Sonos via the S2 software ... The Beam updated OK, but the Sub Mini would not update and subsequently locked out of the S2 application. Checking the SonosThe Sonos technical team were easily contacted and patient as I worked through every option with them to diagnose the failure the firmware in the Sub, with the net result that the unit is now on it's way to back to Poland for replacement after only 4 weeks of use.So to sum up, the Sub Mini will improve the sound of the Beam sound bar, but considering how good the Beam already is, it is unlikely that most people will notice much difference for the price..... Sonos technical support was very good, but I would rather not have needed their involvement on a product that was virtually new and working fine before their update attempt.
I bought this after waiting a long time as did not want the huge amd very expenaive full sub. I have a small living room and I have it paired with the sonos arc and it works and sounds extremely great. I keep the sub at about 5 (of positive 15. You can also go negative) and have to go down to 3 sometimes. It just blends perfectly, so don't put too much into the whole will it work with the arc question. I suppose if you have a large theater like room, then the full sub would be better for you. Also, in concern to the arc already having great bass, it absolutely does, but adding the sub just transforms it. I liken it to going from headphones to a full speaker system. You now will feel the bass in your environment and body instead of just hearing great bass sounds. My ... I doubt it was open box or return aince i got it on day 2. Weird. You can just clip it back in, but its remarkably flimsy for a sonos product which somes with the standard immaculate packaging. Very strange.
I had an injury last year that left me chair/couch bound for a long time, and I wanted to have a decent sound and TV setup for when the surgery came. After doing a lot of research on sound systems, I was not having much luck finding what I wanted: a system that worked as surround sound for TV/movies and that I could disconnect and move around the house so I could listen to music in multiple rooms at the same time without being battery powered. Then, I stumbled onto Sonos at a theater showroom in BestBuy. After listening to the employee and doing some independent research, I tested out the sound, and I fell in love! Plus, the convenience of being able to move them around as I want and play them independently or grouped is unmatched.I have told everyone that has used mine about them and to purchase them. The only thing(s) I regret are not buying this up front and not getting the larger version. This one is incredible, but I know the other is even better.

I hesitated to buy the Sub Mini because I have the Sonos Arc, and 2 Play 1's as surround speakers and the Sub Mini was not apparently designed for the more powerful Sonos Arc. Though I did check the size of the Sub Mini, it did turn out to be smaller than I imagined and very easy to place in our room. It was reasonably easy to set up though we were not able to set up using NFC as recommended. We resorted to keying in the 8 digit code on the bottom of the speaker to set up the Sub Mini with the Sonos app. There is considerable adjustment available within the app to adjust the bass sound to your liking and it can be very powerful
