If you know what you're getting this is a great lens and a decent valueif you're already got the 28mm. It is decently sharp but there are noticeable aberrations off center. You can get better IQ from a dedicated fisheye lens but there aren't many AF options and most are designed for SLRs so they are even heavy and bigger (and this combo isn't svelte!). The auto-EXIF data for stabilization and post is useful too (the camera knows when you've got it attached and registers the combo as a 16mm f/3.5 lens).

I needed a different type of prospective on my race coverage, I first brought the 28mm f2 Sony lens which is a beautiful sharpe prime for scouring the pits , having the Fish eye converter gives me two lenses in one, its sharpe, with no hassle to fit. Would reckomend this for anyone looking for a different prospective on their subject. Construction is tough and quality is second to none.
Pros: Easy attachment and detachment to the 28 mm f/2.Sharpness is not affected by attaching this add-on (that I noticed).Exif data is recorded correctly (16 mm).Solid construction.Relatively cheap. The auto-focus works well.Very fun to use!Cons: Heavier than the 28 mm lens it attaches to.Like the 28 mm, not weather sealed. It is not a standalone fisheye lens, so the set up ends up being a bit long and a bit unbalanced. If you have the 28 mm and are interested in fisheye photography, just buy it!
This is a good fisheye converter a bit soft on the far outer corners but over all the image is sharp on about 92% of the image. I shoot with a a7riii & a6300 on the full frame you will get the best out of this lens. It gets 4 stars for its price it should be only ($) or so but the fact it communicates its exif data I look past the price.
Pro: Attaches right onto the 28mm f/2 like a glove. Allows an acceptable 3.5 min aperture. Super sharp. Con: super heavy. With the 28mm this is a long lens. (Still worth it!)
This is not a stand alone lense, it’s an attachment to the 18mm Sony lense. This fisheye attachment adds a creative aspect to your subject. It brings the main subject up close, while slightly distorting the background. Whether photographing architecture or people, this attachment adds that certain something.
Not too often do I ever need to or do use a fish eye lens but this makes using one super easy. Originally I bought a rokinon manual focus which is a tad wider view but ran into problems of missing a bunch of shots when trying to take some at a buddy’s wedding. (Because of the changing elements and having to shot, zoom, check, adjust) a manual lens proved to difficult that wide. So I looked into this adapter for a remarkable little lens that I already had the (28mmf2). I even rented it (as well as the 21mm wide) before purchasing. What a difference it made. Granted I did lose a little bit on the f-stop range but the ability to use the auto focus was well worth it. Would give it 5stars if it wasn’t for the inherit problem of a fish eye... not being able to get a ... My first lens for my A7sii was the 28mm f/2. I wanted a little more flexibility so I picked this up. It worked very well, but does have some serious fisheye going on. I ended up returning it and investing in the Zeiss 16-35, which has virtually no fisheye distortion
