Just what we needed, a good no frills android based TV. I'm disappointed with the continued cost cutting, though Sony is not the only one doing it. Ther is no headphone jack on this model unlike all our other Sony TV's, some thing I would have happily paid the extra $5 - $10 up charge for. The 3.5 mm jack makes it super easy to connect auxillary speakers with out having to spend a lot of money. I tried two different brands of USB to 3.5mm dongles and neither was worth the money spent. They worked so intermittently where the sound would just drop without warning. So I would have to get up and fiddle with it only to have it drop again afee minutes later. Finally frustrated, ordered an optical to 3.5mm adaptor at a higher price. This is a spare bedroom set up so its fine its just that had Sony no omitted the Jack, I'd have scored it higher.

Very happy with TV. Lack of information is troubling.I have to say it worked right out the box and was very happy with picture. It is hard to get the right information. Not a deal killer but keep that it mind if you want local channels.2. ATSC 3.0 compatible is not an answer ANY TV is ATSC3.0 compatible if you add a tuner. I have been a loyal Sony customer for the past few years; however, this time, the famous Japanese brand hurt me. I went to my nearby Bestbuy initially for the x80k series; while they don't have stock, the Sony guy told me their new 77l series was the even better picture, so I trusted him and bought the TV immediately. But after I brought it back home, the picture was complicated from my previous x800h. I searched online but discovered that the 77l lacked the key trigamous or sth, making the image look much worse. I don't know why the Sony guy told me it's better, but whatever reviewing websites all told me it was much worse. Horrible experience; I still love Sony but highly not recommend this model.

Honestly I’m not very impressed especially for the price point. No it’s not top end but it’s still $200 more than all others same size same class. The picture is not that amazing even in 4KThe sound is absolutely horrific and I don’t expect theater sound just decent sound that doesn’t annoy me. This forces even the non picky person to have to buy a soundbar. So factor that into your overall cost.Due to the bowed back it’s not as thin as it could be so you won’t get that flush look.I paid the extra money because my last Sony is still going strong 14 years later so I’m hoping this one will last too. But I’m betting I buy a better one wayyyyy before that out of pure annoyance. The sound problem isn’t just how loud, it’s also the depth, you hear all of the music ... MoreHonestly I’m not very impressed especially for the price point. Good TV for the price. Terrible free to air TV guide. Somehow it is even worse than my other Sony 55 inch x80j guide. The guide on this TV is slower to populate than other cheaper TVs and has zero features. Somehow my new Sony X77L 65 inch is even worse than an older Sony TV, I don't understand why you would replace the software with even an worse version. At least use the previous one that sucked less. Obviously all other features on the TV are good as I would not have been a repeat customer my older Sony 55 inch still going strong and happy with my new 65 inch. That is until I start trying to watch free to air TV and want to use the TV guide. Sony please fix. Yes this is a budget Sony TV and sadly it clearly feels like it. Any view off center immediately washes out color like an old TN panel. The X1 processor, speaker quality, the multiple inputs (including eARC and video/composite) are the pros in addition to googe tv interface. The thick cheap plastic bezel and chunky feet contribute to poor construction quality. While there are numerous picture options, I couldn’t settle on anything satisfactory. The Samsung 43” CU7000 (which I own) is almost half the price and superior in build and picture quality. I’m baffled at the production and price point of this TV from Sony. Then again they really failed us Sony X900H owners with specs and performance that never truly came via future firmware updates. The construction quality, cosmetics, black levels are far better even if it only has two HDMI inputs and no eARC. Plug in a google chromecast and it is still better and under the price of this Sony.
This tv lasted a total of 2 years. For the price and the brand it is, it's a complete disgrace. The tv kept having sound issues right out of the box. We kept thinking it was the apps but after some research found that most people use a sound bar with this tv. Nobody wants to purchase extra equipment to make my expensive tv sound better. It should sound good by itself. Then it kept going to black screen where the only option was to use the voice remote to tell the tv to restart. And finally today it went black and started flashing a red light at the bottom. After troubleshooting and doing everything we could find In help articles the only other option is to get it serviced or replace it. What a complete waste of money!
