Selecting Professional - Expert1 and setting the basics of colour, Brightness & Contrast & leaving the remaing settings at their default gets you something like 85% picture accuracy.I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I spent 2 hours with my Spears & Munsil UHD test Bluray to fine tune all the settings for the HDMI Input. I then transferred these to the Apps & free to air TV settings & fine-tuned those to suit. I'm guessing around 95% picture accuracy now. I'm not quite ready to fork out another $2000 for Calman software & calibration equipment to get that last 5% haha. Am I happy with this TV? Absolutely. It is a major step up from my Sony 75X9000F which was an excellent TV. I count the number of dimming zones as being 740 the above TV has 55 so this coupled with Sony's second to none FALD algorithym translates to a major improvement in halo-ing / backlight blooming. OK it's not quite OLED but it's damned impressive even with my loungeroom lights dimmed all the way down. It did take a little while to work out the best settings for motion smoothing (MotionFlow=Auto, FilMode=Off) but once set that's now excellent and I think most would be completely happy with it.There was a moment of concern when I turned on the Bravia 7 one morning in the second week of owning it. It went into a Black Screen Bootloop & I thought " Oh no do I have a Lemon?" A bit of research suggested this may be because of the firmware update I did the night before so I tried several soft reset procedures found online & eventually one worked. I'm very happy to say I've had zero problems since doing this. The last thing I'd like to add is that my previous TV would briefly display a HDR or DolbyVision Icon in the top right hand corner when that input signal was detected. I really liked having that feature & I'd like to request that Sony implement it in their next firmware update. I'd also appreciate it if they could keep the BlackScreen bootloop scares to a minimum haha. Hope this helps people when considering their next TV purchase. Cheers.

The picture quality is absolutely fantastic. Getting it out of the box was easy, Sony have really thought well about how to get such as large TV out and set up safely (you absolutely need 2 people just for the size of it). Out of the box the TV produced nice images, personally I'm a fan of the more natural style of image, finding some other brands to over-render the image by default. Skin tones are perfect, and the colour range is excellent. I was considering an OLED TV from a competitor, but I don't regret buying this after getting it home. It's lovely and bright with really deep blacks. I think for the price point it's a little expensive. In terms of picture, Vivid mode was too bright and over saturated for us. We tend to stick to Standard picture mode, and increase the brightness. The sounds quality from the TV is pretty average, but not a problem for us as we use a home theater amplifier instead. The smart TV/Google TV features are fast and responsive. One issue we had was using Apple TV 4K - the lip sync was a bit out, and the TV would go black for a second or two when starting content - I think we solved this issue, by changing the Apple TV from 60Hz Dobly Vision to 50Hz Dolby Vision - it all seems to work well now.Overall we are very happy with the purchase, but would recommend buying it on sale.

Hi, I have had this Sony 55" Bravia 7, for just over a week now, and I can honestly say, that it is unbelievable. Right, let's review it. The packaging was really good every thing held securely. Out of the box the two feet slide inside the TVs body no problem. Personally my installer (my Son), used the two outer slots and it looked superb. Yes it is a big slab of black plastic and TV screen, but, when it is turned on and you have gone through the initial settings and tweeked the picture settings slightly, and it was only slight, the picture came alive. Truely a vision to behold. It is bright, and colourful, but not over the top. Really life like. Sony should give themselves a pat on the back for producing a wonderful TV that can be watched for hours on end and still ... MoreHi, I have had this Sony 55" Bravia 7, for just over a week now, and I can honestly say, that it is unbelievable. Sony should give themselves a pat on the back for producing a wonderful TV that can be watched for hours on end and still leave you wanting more. There are two remote controls included. One is backlit, and rechargeable via a USB C cable so no batteries needed. The backlit feature is what all remotes should have, it is a pleasure to use. The other remote is a standard battery one, (which are included) and can be placed in a drawer until needed. I watched everything through the Bravia 7. YouTube, satellite, PS5 gaming, and 4K films using the PS5, and , nothing fazed it. Not too leave out the sound of course. The sound is very, very listenable. It leaves nothing missing and in my opinion doesn't need a soundbar. If you are in the market for a 55inch TV, I can honestly recommend the Sony Bravia 7. You will be spending your money, wisely. If I hadn't been spoiled by OLED TVs for the passed couple of years. I could have happily sat down in front of this TV and been amazed.

Having reviewed a lot of technology in general and for Sony, I was excited to try out the SONY Bravia 7 QLED 4k Mini LED TV. Out of the box, Sony always does a good job on presentation, from any product you receive. As you can see in the pictures there are 2 types of remotes, the one on the left is geared towards if you are the type of person to go straight to streaming apps. This comes with a usb C cable to charge the remote. Whereas, the remote on the right is a traditional one powered by the triple A batteries provided. Now assembly was quick and easy and Sony has gone as far as to, model it around the cardboard and styrofoam when opening up the box. Now assembly was quick and easy and Sony has gone as far as to, model it around the cardboard and styrofoam when opening up the box. My overall upsides for the tv consist of, newer technology in the Mini LED; All the streaming apps you could ever want; In terms of noise and audio along with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, Sony is always up there; I like how you are able to connect headphones to the tv and have someone else listen to what you are watching. I did have a couple downsides to this tv, I understand this isn’t a Bravia 8 which is OLED and they do different things. Simply, OLED shows you a much truer black in terms of tones and QLED is aimed at showcasing those brighter colours. I mention this important point because I don’t feel as if I’m getting the best picture quality from the new technology as I would in a Bravia 9 for example. And in general people watch a lot of TV with darker undertones, which in my opinion will always put OLED above QLED. This TV does well in a lot of different areas, but unfortunately it’s lacking the vibrancy which makes QLED so great. With all of that said, I would recommend this tv, if you still want the bright colours but necessarily don’t have the budget for a Bravia 9. But I feel the perfect option would be the Bravia 8 OLED as there isn’t much room to be dissatisfied there.
Picture is perfect. Salesperson at Best Buy (Katie) was very knowledgeable and helpful. We had Best Buy install and set up the TV (Josh did a great job). This TV has a non-glare finish, which we thought we wanted. I think a more shiny finish might look nicer when the TV is turned off. When the TV is on, the finish doesn't come into play at all that I can tell. The picture is awesome. We have large triple wide glass sliding doors to the side of the room and there is no glare at all on the TV when watching it from anywhere in the living room. However, there is a bit of glare DURING THE DAY when standing in the kitchen when the TV is on, but not a big deal (we don't have curtains or shades on the large windows). There is no glare when standing in the kitchen AT NIGHT. I suspect it would be the same whether the screen was the shiny finish or the non-glare finish. This Sony TV with a non-glare finish was displayed in the store next to a Sony TV with a shiny finish... the picture on this Sony TV was a little brighter than the Sony TV with the shinier finish which had a darker picture. Both were beautiful, but we decided we wanted the brighter one. We are not disappointed. The installer hooked up our soundbar (a previous Best Buy purchase) to the TV and the sound is awesome. Cannot say how the sound would be without the soundbar. However, we have an older 55" Sony in another room without a soundbar and the sound on it is great. I personally love Sony TVs. The new 65" TV replaced a Samsung, which lasted 7 years with many many hours on it.
This TV is nothing short of spectacular! I 1st tested out the Bravia 7 with the 7 worlds 1 planet 4k disc, HDR looks marvelous, this tv can get extremely bright, eye retina burning bright(i meant that in a good way lol) specular highlights are fantastic, colors are very vibrant & pop off the screen. Blacks are very inky, almost id say OLED like, and from what i've seen so far, I haven't noticed any blooming, only except in the rare instance with certain very bright popup menus but that doesnt bither me atleast. As far as real world content, I havent noticed any blooming, although it's probably helping that I've installed the Medialight Mk2 bias lighting on he back of the tv. Gaming on the PS5 is also amazing, I noticed no difference between regular content & gaming as far as picture quality & the mini-led backlight performance is concerned. I can't comment on light reflections & off axis viewing, my living room has only one small window so it isn't bright and the room itself is narrow, so neither was an issue for me. Whatever light did reflect was barely noticeable thanks in part to the TV's high peak brightness. One thing that surprised me, after a bit of tinkering, was how good the tv sounds. Especially with Dolby & DTS encoded content, watching movies like Godzilla & it's sequel King of Monsters, sounded very immersive, as the speakers have surprisingly good thump & kick in the bass department . Of course they lack the low end earth shattering rumble you'd get from a subwoofer, that's to be expected, but considering the fact that they're tv speakers, they sound pretty great in my opinion. I had high hopes for this tv, I was considering buying a 75in x93L but I'm glad i held off for the Bravia 7, it's definitely better. Coming from a sony 75in x950g, it was an immense upgrade to say the least. All in all i think anyone will be more than happy with this tv, it certificate blew my expectations away.

I found this very intuitive and well laid out for anyone who may not be familiar with the requirements of similar procedures. The TV itself guides the owner through Google TV set up and then the joy of watching a first-class high definition picture with high resolution sound was only a few clicks of one of the 2 remote control devices. However not all was a simple as that, as my 'older' DVD system is slightly out of time and technological advances compared to the Sony. I have had to find an order of 'switching on' to achieve an in sync sound a vision output when playing discs from my collection. I suppose that the answer is to use online movie services such a Sony's included package to get a flawless output every time - but I like some of my DVDs that are not available on the multitude services that I can now connect to.The minor inconvenience (of my own making) as above only allows me to award 4.9 stars out of a possible 5 for this excellent a feature rich TV that I am now privileged to own.Thank you, Sony and John Lewis, for greatly increasing my viewing pleasure.
In my opinion Sony are the best manufacturers of televisions by a country mile. You pay a premium but without question however you're getting the best technology and advancements presently obtainable. The Bravia TV range is no exception the built quality is remarkable and a great deal has been incorporated into the end users viewing experience. The sound and clarity is excellent, the colour and visual experience is excellent. The settings up is mostly straight forward and therefore quickly you're up and running, you don't get much helpful literature included, but it's very easy to obtain additional set-up benefits and support should these be required. The settings up is mostly straight forward and therefore quickly you're up and running, you don't get much helpful literature included, but it's very easy to obtain additional set-up benefits and support should these be required. My one truly negative point is the two included remote controls, which frankly are ridiculous in so far as size, these are so tiny (in fact the tiniest I've ever seen or used) and therefore makes them difficult to navigate, the even tinier buttons on these remotes means you often press the wrong buttons inadvertently and is thus a fussy and annoying experience. I'm assuming these poorly designed remotes is to encourage use of the app version of the controllers, though I'm not entirely sure. Additionally, I don't give any trust to the design of the included and somewhat very basic TV stand, so an additional expense for a wall bracket in most cases is more than probable, however these days wall brackets are a prerequisite for many modern TV's due to their ever expanding sizes. I recommend the Bravia TV as a strong contender for best in range, with a few ever so minor caveats noted herein. As ever the experience of shopping and delivery with JL was second to none.
GReat TV especially if you get the JL discount. Fabulous picture and sound. Good range of pre-installed apps but for others you have to find google play store which is not on the delivered list. You have to find it by pressing on the arrow at the end of the line of pre installed apps Once you have it you can install downloader anf install APK apps directly from the internet or those which are available on the App store. The installation unpacking and set up instructions are a joke. You are requested to go on line for detailed instructions (which of course assumes a buyer has internet access and a handy computer screen (its a waste of time trying to use a mobile). One appears a digital type which has no battery but is charged like a mobile from a power point. Thats no problem except its not easy to use with hitting non required buttons. I have sky and apps and trying to get back to sky from the apps has been diificult. The other remote is better and more finger friendly.Once up and running - watching TV becomes s a sheer joy.
Out of the box this is an impressive TV before you even plug it in and turn it on.Set up; You have four ways to place the TV with the supplied foot stands, these are made of metal they are heavy and rock solid and have non slip feet. They clip in and pull back out. You have a standard position (wide apart towards the ends of the TV) a narrow position, a soundbar position and a narrow soundbar position so it should fit 99% of furniture. There’s also the wall mounted option depending on where you like to view the TV. On the rear you have all the ports you could want.Plug everything you’ve got into it and its instantly recognised. Your WiFi is picked up in seconds and all the apps you need are at your disposal. The longest part of the set up was actually downloading ... MoreOut of the box this is an impressive TV before you even plug it in and turn it on.Set up; You have four ways to place the TV with the supplied foot stands, these are made of metal they are heavy and rock solid and have non slip feet. The battery operated remote is your standard Blu-Ray type remote with the usual array of buttons, the second remote is USB charged and has buttons taking you directly too, SONY PICTURES CORE, NETFLIX, Disney, prime video, crunchy roll and YouTube, Netflix, Disney and prime video. Personally I think this remote set up is great for toddlers who get to that age where they want to watch something with the the remote control but end up reprogramming your TV for you, those days should be gone. This TV shines thanks to its Dolby vision support and its DTS action support. Watching the latest shows available and movies in HDR is second to none and the darker the room the more it shines, but that’s the same with any TV. Shadows are history with the Triluminos Pro, XR Contrast booster and XR Processor. I’d describe the contrast as just brilliant which is thanks to the mini LED system. Its colours are simply stunning. The best angle for viewing is sitting right in front of it but that’s the same with any TV. Nature programmes with animals etc in the wild is mind blowing. The screen is the speaker. The sound is amazing. You have multi audio acoustics, a centre acoustic sync and 3D Upscaling. So sit in front of it, and, if you have someone facing someone else and talking say from right to left you have the voice coming from the right side of the TV and vice versa. Action movies are next level on this TV. I’ve connected up the Sony HT-S2000 Soundbar and it does add further depth to movies and sports enhancing your viewing further.Sports; very fast response time and excellent upscaling. I’ve watched the tennis recently and the sound from the rallies and service are amazing as were the Euros and now the Olympics. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. For gaming you will have an excellent experience there’s with a very fast response time. Please be advised though that the TV only supports 4k @ 120Hz gaming on two of its inputs.Lastly if you needed a 55” screen computer monitor it works again flawlessly, however, primarily I would point this towards photographers for editing images they have taken. I've done this and its just makes editing so easy.To close no matter what you watch here you’re there in the thick of the action.
