TV is great and an all rounder. Good for games, content, and movies. The only complaint I have is that the local dimming for this series is mid tier and can be very visible during white or blank scenes. I think it's a fair trade off for the price and the technology it uses. To be honest you will only every notice it 1% of the time unless you stay on loading screens a lot.The gaming experience is future proofed as it can actually support the PS5, XBOX, and PC games. My beefy pc can't even run 120fps at 4k all the time so I haven't used this TV to it's full potential just yet and plan to in the future. You won't be disappointed and the value it brings will last for years. Granted that most people buy such an expensive TV with the mindset to keep it for a decade.

After viewing several models, I agreed with my research that the Sony TVs had the best picture and specs for the money I was intending to spend. One of the displays they had was exactly what I needed to see, a 55" over a 65", right next to a 75". Seeing the 55" over the 65" quickly convinced me that there wasn't enough size difference to justify spending the money for my upgrade, so I was leaning heavily toward the bigger screen.The sales rep that helped me had been with Best Buy for a couple of years and was very knowledgeable. He pointed out the differences between the 2 models, then discussed my needs. He agreed with me that the 75" was going to make me happier.The next challenge was whether or not it was going to fit in my SUV. He borrowed a tape measure for me and we measured the box. I went out to the car and measured, determining that the width would work getting it in, but I was about 8 inches short getting it in lengthwise with the front seats as far up as I could get them and still drive. I remeasured at an angle and estimated that if I took the headrests off we could rest it on the back of top of the seats. I went back inside with a big smile and said "Let's do this."I bought the 75", we opened it to make sure the screen wasn't cracked, and plugged it in and fired it up to make sure I didn't lose the "panel lottery." Everything checked out, so I went to get the car while he brought the TV to the front door.It took a lot of maneuvering, and I think he said 3 times "It's nit gonna fit," but sure enough, we got it in safely.Once I got it home my roommate and I had it unboxed and up on the wall in about 1 minutes. Setup was a breeze, and the picture looks fabulous in my living room!Just a reminder, TVs look a whole lot bigger in your house than they do in a massive warehouse sized building with high ceilings. Make sure you measure where your new TV will go before you buy it!

The item doesn't have the quality feel of a Samsung product, from the plastic look of the tv and the remote control. I had a bravia 12 years ago and remember that item really standing out especially with the sound. My last tv was samsung and that still feels premium compared to this tv. The standard Sony web browser is poor and crashes so much that its not worth using. The OS is irrelevant if you don't use any subscription services. It focuses on these and if you don't use them they get in the way because they are at the forefront of the OS. It's a Google tv so Google should be at the forefront of the OS but it's not and is in the background. The app search is restricted and you can't find all the apps you can on your phone. Full of bloat wear, a lot of apps which can't be uninstalled and if you don't use the big subscription services, ie, netflix, disney etc you'll find the TV very annoying. Good points are, not much screen glare, better than the LG and Samsung items, PS4 connectivity is good and works seemlessly. Has a designated slot once plugged in. Also connecting Bluetooth mouse and keyboard is also good, however, mouse does not work well, is too fast and so far can't find options to adjust this so is useless.

Had this for two years now. Picture is okay, but certainly not the best. The I/O board (HDMI, Ethernet, etc...) has been a huge issue since almost the beginning, causing me to reboot, reset, or unplug. The Google operating system is aweful and extremely sluggish, sometimes freezing entirely. I'll finally be ordering a new main/IO board at some point and will see how it goes. Pretty dissapointed with Sony. Over the years I have had many Sony products with defective components, cold solder joints and other issues. The majority I successfully repaired, but their quality control needs a bit of help. Although I am retired and haven't done it in years, I repaired electronics for decades and Sony was the most common television I came across. I bought it on false hopes ... Although at the time wasn't smart but this isn't really either. The initial desktop you are shown once loaded is muddled and shows nothing of relevance. Menus are bloated not easily accessible. It needs to be more Google and it's not. Sony have just used the name and the search function but that's it. The tv has gotten worse with age and after only a year airways feels like it's going to crash.Have called Sony many times, initially they were helpful but with persistent problems have just started playing the usual game of fobbing me off. Their answer to my issues is to keep resetting the tv to factory settings or update to latest system even though it is already and have supplied the evidence. They said they would send an engineer but now not interested in helping.

They gave a little more weight to the reviews, what I wrote off as user error, they figured they were taking a chance, and they were right! Their exact same TV, same 43" X85J from Amazon, does not do what my set does. I trust them, but to be 110% sure I'm going to see it with my own eyes tomorrow.By using every other pixel its effectively 1920x1080p, just spaced out across 3840x2160p. It would be fine if I was OK with using the TV In Graphics Picture mode all the time, but I'm actually a fan of motionflow and frame interpolation. Its not fair that someone I know paid the exact same amount as me, got the same size and model of TV, but theirs actually has all its bells and whistles in 4K while I have to turn mine off to get actual 4K.I'm hoping that when I exchange my unit tomorrow, I might be lucky and get a good unit like my friends' roommate. I wouldn't be surprised however if its another lemon, and I have to go to Amazon to get a decent unit. I'll update my review later if possible!
This is my second one of these replaced under warranty as the first one would not connect to wifi and had sound issues where the sound kept on cutting in and out and freezing up the picture which I believe is connected to the wifi issue. Had 3 tech call outs and eventually was offered a new one. Should have taken a year to get a new one when it was obviously faulty. New one is working as it should. The picture quality is as good as it gets with the content currently available. Very little reason to justify buying the more expensive models. Based on Australian tv quality you're not going to improve on 1080i. And Foxtel 4k is heavily compressed and is not a true 4k. I wouldn't recommend this particular model because of the problems I incurred. I would suggest getting ... MoreThis is my second one of these replaced under warranty as the first one would not connect to wifi and had sound issues where the sound kept on cutting in and out and freezing up the picture which I believe is connected to the wifi issue. Had 3 tech call outs and eventually was offered a new one. Should have taken a year to get a new one when it was obviously faulty. New one is working as it should. The picture quality is as good as it gets with the content currently available. Very little reason to justify buying the more expensive models. Based on Australian tv quality you're not going to improve on 1080i. And Foxtel 4k is heavily compressed and is not a true 4k. I wouldn't recommend this particular model because of the problems I incurred. I would suggest getting the x85k not J. As I'm sure Sony have probably ironed out a couple of glitches.

The 75in model is five FEET wide and over 70lbs, I have confidence in my hands but I still chose to have it delivered and installed.Yes it will do 4K120 video and yes it finally got the VRR update for console gaming. This is a good TV for gaming on a PS5. At 100/120fps the processor operates at reduced vertical resolution and makes small text look worse, but in a fast paced game it looked fine to me and felt very responsive. I strongly suggest only using 4K60 settings on any connected PC.HDR quality is convincing. Looks sometimes better and sometimes worse than the X90, this is due to different CPU and whole-frame vs zone-based dimming. Extended media settings and smart TV features seem to be excellent. As expected it works better with a Sony soundbar and 4K blu ray player....don't expect much from the built-in speakers if you listen to more than the local news. You can get HDR and Dolby Vision content in some shows on the streaming video services and they look excellent.Again this TV is not perfect in every way but it looks much better than the X80 series, it performs well enough as a console gaming screen, and you can add a soundbar while still coming out cheaper than the X90 or an OLED. A solid family TV.PS remember to enable the Reality Creation feature on whichever hdmi is connected to your blu ray player, it makes a nice difference. Be careful, not all video input modes work with all devices and a little trial-and-error may be needed.
