I purchased a pair of EX155AP earphones while they were 40% off. The build quality isnt too impressive, buds are made from cheap plastic and paint is already peeling off after only 2 weeks of moderate use. Good quality audio jack though. Packaging and earphones are rather "no frills", which I wouldnt have minded if the sound quality was prioritised. Bass is strong provided you can get a good earbud seal but not too overpowering. The deep bass frequencies are bold which is fun (the booms in minipops_67 by Aphex Twin are good examples, many speakers and headphones struggle with these but the 155AP resonates them with pride!). There are unfortunately issues with the treble, where certain hz bands are excessively sharp, screechy and metallic. This unfortunately can make the listening experience rather unpleasant (The hihat in Best Things by Filter is unbearable with these earphones). Even though these are budget earphones, there are still better alternatives in the price range (whole heartedly recommend skullcandy's inkd+). In saying that, the 155APs arent terrible, just be prepared for a sharp hiss in the treble occassionly. And just to clear the air - yes, the audio absolutely does work fine plugged into laptops or other devices that arent smart phones... and in stereo...

I found it did not fit the audio jack as tightly as more expensive Sony earbuds causing sound loss and pauses with movement just wearing it. It also did not quite fit as comfortably as I was used to. Keep in mind these are very cheap so there are trade offs to be had. My biggest complaint vs other earbuds was how affected by movement (pauses so xperia thinks it was removed) vs all the other Sony corded earbuds I have used (that were in a higher prices class).

Very disappointed with this product, terrible sound, no bass, flimsy design and expensive. They were comparable with a cheap no brand pair of headphones from a service station. Replaced them with Apple headphones for half the price, also from JB Hifi. The Apple are so superior & the sound is amazing. (only purchased the Sony as Apple were out of stock at the time)

JB had a special on Sony headphones so I looked up some reviews on this model and based on the reviews bought a pair online. Only problem was I wanted them for my Lenovo desktop to replace some over ear headphones that were uncomfortable and overly bassy . Turns out they only work with smartphones. Didn't see any mention of this prior to the purchase. Not impressed. Anyway, thought I'd give then a run with my iPhone to see if I'd want to use them. Lots of high end detail but way too bright and lacking bass. So for me, a complete waste of money.
I use them for years. Overall excellent headphones. Strong deep bass, but muddy and not clear enough highs. And not loud enough. For 16 ohm headphones this are pretty quiet headphones. But the noice canceling is pretty good. They fit nice in the ear canal and dump the outer noice quite well.
These are great little earbuds. They have quality sound and the mic works well on calls. They also come with different sized silicone caps so fit comfortably in my ears.
Great headphones, I got azur color. Sound is very clear and mic is great too. I use them everyday. It's my second choice, firs was very expensive Sennheiser.
Sony headphones are usually pretty good bang for buck, and these are no different. Decent sound, not 100% sure that phone call sound is great yet, hence not a 5th star just yet. Just needed a decent wired pair for using mobile for work calls at home, and these do the job well.
I am a Landscaper so ear phones are very important to my everyday work. especially the Mic that is built in... So I know these ear-buds are incredible and I feel they put out much better sound and are built with much better quality then all the expensive "big names" like Bose and Beats. I bought a $180 pair of Beats and they lasted me only 1 month in my heavy work load, then a pair of Bose Sport Headphones and they lasted me two weeks before the wire pulled out of the ear piece. I go a pair of these Sony $20 Buds and they lasted me almost a year. an entire year of dirt and dust, water and the hot sun, snagging and pulling and they didn't even break!!! i gave them away to a co-worker and never saw them break.... So I Swear by these buds! there all I ever buy! You ... MoreI am a Landscaper so ear phones are very important to my everyday work. especially the Mic that is built in... I bought these a couple months ago and have had no problems. They have great sound, resonable bass and have a great volume range if required. They are even partially noise cancelling and almost fully noise cancelling if you are listening to music that is loud enough. Microphone is very responsive and works fine and they come with a loop for you to wrap the wire around if you find them too long. They do tangle easily but the loop seems to reduce a lot fo tangle by shortening the wire.
