Sony Noise Cancelling Headphones - Black

Bought these for my 9.5 year old son. He loves them. Given that he's been through quite a few pairs of cheaper headphones and complained about how uncomfortable they all were, it says something if he's wearing these all the time - not actually plugged into anything. We had to buy wired as he has a Nintendo Switch Lite and they don't have bluetooth capability. He's also found he can use them with an old MP3 player of mine, so he thinks he's the cool kid in town. The only mildly annoying aspect of these headphones is the fact that they're not rechargeable. They require a AAA battery to work, so we've needed to keep a supply of AAA batteries on hand - which isn't sustainable. The upside though, is the headphones still function perfectly well as decent headphones without the noise cancelling on. So for the price, they're still a win as wired headphones 'with a noise cancelling option' when we can be bothered with batteries.

I couldn't be happier with this fragrance and I can't wait to see what they come out with this year. Good Product at Reasonable Price

So far, so good. Comes with the required AAA battery which is a plus since I didn't have one!! Easy to read and understand instructions. Have only used once, but worked well using my desktop speakers. The only co would be I wish the connection cord was just a bit longer. I found that if I turn to pick up something from the left side of my corner desk, the cord is not quite long enough. For the price, well worth a try. Arrived timely and packaging was secure.

Good quality

I have had these for about FIVE YEARS with no problem. They fold up in my carry-on backpack and have survived countless flights. The only reason I am looking for new ones is because the covering over the padding is starting to peel alway. But that is to be expected after so many uses on flights. While they are noise reducing, the are not noise-canceling. After a cross country flight, they do get heavy on my ears. Overall, they are good quality for the price. Don’t expect the performance you would get from a $300 set of headphones. But do expect a good quality that will last a while.

My new must have for airplanes

Never used noise canceling headphones before. Price was right to try on recent flight. Comfortable over my ears. Could not hear buzzing airplane noises usually hear when wearing earbuds. Also could not hear my husband unless he tapped me on my shoulder. Did occasionally hear a crying baby. Normally am a nervous flyer but was able to fall asleep wearing these while listening to a meditation podcast! Liked how they folded up flat into my purse leaving plenty of room for other items. Very happy with purchase!

Noise canceling headphones aren’t bad but…

Very good value for money.Noise cancelling isn’t as effective as higher end models but does help reduce background noise.Build is fairly lightweight with a fairly short cable. Headband tension is light so is comfortable to wear but doesn’t mechanically block out sound.Okay for light use but wouldn’t recommend for audiophiles or pro users.Requires AAA better for active noise cancelling otherwise works as passive headphones.

Noise cancelling does not

I purchased to listen to audio books on public transport. Noise cancelling doesn’t work at all. Switch on, switch off, there is absolutely NO change. No difference and no noise suppression. There are batteries installed and the light is on. The headphones are useless. This is a common problem, with many other reviewers reporting the same problem I don’t expect great quality for the price, but I do expect it to work

Not wireless and require an AAA battery

Once battery is in and these are turned on they do sound good and the noise cancelling is reasonable. Comfortable to wear. However the product description fails to tell you these are wired and NOT wireless as I expected for headphones in this price range. They also require an AAA battery (not supplied) and do not have their own power source which I would also expect for a product in this price range. If I had known these things I would not have bought this product. However if I bought this product and was aware they were wired only and had no internal power source I would rate them higher because for what they are, they are good. But for what I thought they are, they are a disappointment.

SEEM TO WORK GOOD

They really seem to work well. It does cut out a bunch of the lowest sound, which can be the most irritating when you are trying to do something like sleep. This is all theoretical so far for me as I haven’t really needed to use them “in real life” yet. But I have more hope that with the next “noisy” neighbor, I might be able to sleep better, and at a reasonable cost. Sleeping with them might be a little problematic, I haven’t actually tried that, but with a virtually desperate situation like noisy neighbors, I think it might just help. And yeah, they are not over the ear, just on the ear, but that’s good enough for me if they help when I really need them, and considering the price. Three months ownership so far

Very Good Sound and Noise Cancelling for the Price

These headphones have very good sound and bass, according to the specifications of 10Hz-22,000Hz frequency response, and they do indeed have fair noise cancellation. These headphones are small, and don't completely envelope the ears like the other far more expensive ones do, however they press softly against the ear, and still cancel noise surprisingly well. The build is plastic, but they will not break as the build quality is quite good as long as you are careful with them. Overall, if you are looking at decent entry level headphones without breaking the bank, these ones are fantastic. A+
