The PS-LX250H has an onboard phono preamp that'll boost the levels, allowing you to hook into any RCA jack on your amp. It can play back records at both 33.3 RPM (revolutions per minute) and 45 RPM, and comes with a plastic, hinged dust cover.

Bought this from B&H about a year ago, it worked for about a month or so then the problems started. Deffinitly one of the most aggrivating things I've ever had to deal with when trying to relax and listen to music. Pressing start will get it to''automatically'' start the arm at the beginning of the record..and it automatically will retract it before you even hear a lick of audio. If you buy this youll spend more time then one side of vinyl can have recorded on it just trying to start the record. Put the arm on, it just goes right back. Ive probably pressed start or manually put the arm at the beginning of a record 100 times more than ive actually been able to listen to a side of vinyl on this thing. Now I actually have to unplug it because the record wont stop ... MoreBought this from B&H about a year ago, it worked for about a month or so then the problems started. Now I actually have to unplug it because the record wont stop spinning and it just keeps trying to put the arm on and just puts it right back a second later. Oh yeah and the RCA's are faulty they need to sit at just the right angle for L and R to both be transmitted, so I have my RCA gaff taped to the ceiling above it just to get stereo sound out of it..id replace the cable if the other end wasnt permanently attached to the record player. The worst record player I've ever used and it serves me right thinking i could get a record player thats worth anything for $

Well: As I had bad experiences with cheaper brands of turntables, I was confident in buying this PSLX250H, mainly because it was manufactured by Sony - a excellent brand with a good repetation for quality. And, as I expected, I was not dissapointed. It looks great, feels great and works great, what more do you need?Excellent features are:Fully automatic operationSupports 33-1/3 and 45 rpm playing speedsBelt-drive systemStatic balance tonearmConvenient front-mounted controls for simplicityI really enjoy using this turntable as the sound quality is superb for LP's and Singles. [...]I would highly recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a good basic turntable.Thankyou.
Used almost daily. Simple operation, no bells and whistles. Can't balance the tone arm. This might effect the type and variety of cartridges available. Although it does come with it's own cartridge already installed. This is not a problem because it does more than an adequate job of reproducing decent audio.
Belt was broken...no power to the turntable. The on button broken. May have broken in shipping. Poorly packaged. Just had to throw it away.
A perfect Fit for what Im looking for. An old school turntable with a great stylus and needle puts out great sound
BEING 'GIRLS IN OUR 70'S AND ADDICTED TO THOSE STRANGE ROUND THINGS THAT OUR GRANDCHILDEN DO NOT RECOGNIZE, WE ARE DELIGHTED TO HAVE REPLACED OUR VERY OLD TURNTABLE WITH THE SONY PS-LX250H AT A PRICE WE COULD AFFORD. WE HAD BEGUN TO THINK THAT THE UNDULATING SOUND IN MONO WAS THE NORM! THE PERFORMANCE IS GREAT, AND WE ARE TOO NAIVE TO CRITICISE IT.
Initially, the sound quality and tempo were terrible. I replaced the drive belt to correct the tempo. Turntable did not come with a manual or any instructions. I got a manual, about 10 pages, from the internet and found that I needed to switch an EQ switch to the off position, since my amplifier has Phono Input Jacks. Would have appreciated a heads-up on this one. Also, had a problem of back of stylus dragging on the record. Added about 2 ounces to rear of tone arm, which corrected the problem. Now, it sounds like a Sony.
Its a great deal sounds great and easy assembly I would recommend it to friends and family
