Quality check is really bad for this card. After several Tests with a lot of SD Cards. I had 2 of this and one of them had seq write of 3,77 MB/s !!!… any card i had never had this problem. After checking with Sony they said the card has not the problem from 2020 … the cards have also the * symbol.Actually they should send to me a working 1 card for free… the customer doing their Job actually, after a bad quality check, like always we customers are the betatesters...

Bought in January 2020 - worked in Sony A7r3. Worked for almost a year in Canon R6 until it failed to write to this card - red light would not turn off after 5 minutes. Did that with 2 of 4 4k60 videos and could not play back. Sent back to Sony in March 2022. The replacement, with a date code of mid 2020 failed within 2 day - it would always record but freeze at some point(s) during in-camera playback. It does play in PC/Mac. Mine did not have * by serial number TV... Replacement had * but with TV... SN. My other cards have SNs that start with TR... no *, but they work. I have lost trust with these cards by Sony.

If the hardware in which the card is inserted does not support V60, it will properly fallback to sustained rates of 30MB/s (U3) or 10MB/s (C10).

Fast and reliable
29 March 2022

I use these cards with a Fujifilm X-T3 and they work great. The 4K 400mbps isn't a problem for this card both in shooting and in playback. Shooting compressed raw at 11fps also works quite well and the buffer clears very quickly. The SF-G would be even quicker, but for my uses this is plenty fast. I shoot a fair amount of live music photography and use 11fps pretty often and I have never run into any issues. I can shoot the 11fps for a while before the camera slows down, and then the buffer completely clears in seconds and I can get back to 11fps. The price to performance ratio of this card is great and I would recommend it to just about anyone.

Great card for new Sony FF cameras. Just the right speed/$
31 December 2019

Card seems very solid. Slightly snug fit into all the SD card slots where I tried it, but no issues inserting or ejecting (tested in multiple cameras and card readers, tested several insert/eject cycles in each).I verified the write speed is about 150MB/s which is just enough for the fastest Sony FF mirror-less bodies. With a card reader (UHS-II) I was able to xfr files to my computer at about 250MB/s which seems reasonable. Copying files from the card onto my computer takes MUCH less time than with a typical (UHS-I) card.I believe most people can take advantage of the 277MB/s read speed, as long as they have a true UHS-II card reader and a relatively modern laptop/computer. By the time I can actually use a card that is faster than this one, I can probably use the money I saved today to buy another card that is even faster than 300/300.

My Favorite SDXC Cards for Panasonic
9 July 2022

I use Sony's M-series SDXC cards with my Panasonic GH5, GH5s and DVX200. Perfect cards to capture high-bitrate 4K ALL-I 400mbps footage. Never an issues, knock on wood. These cards were previously recalled in 2021, but all cards I've purchased from B&H have a small star next to the serial number on the back, which indicated they are the superseded, post-recall version. Thanks Sony anf B&H!

I have been using Sony SD cards since I bought my A7iii. I figured that choosing a Sony SD card would be smart because they are also manufacturing the camera. These perform very well in my A7iv. They allow the camera to quickly clear the buffer. I have not noticed any issues with these cards. They are built sturdy and should last a long time. For the price of these SD cards, I don't think you can go wrong.

Sony Recall of SOME of these TOUGH Series Cards
15 December 2020

FYI everyone: In May or June 2020, Sony announced a recall affecting some of the Tough Series cards because they were becoming corrupted and losing data. I learned about this last week after I had just purchased two of the cards from B&H. Cards UNAFFECTED by the recall have a tiny, dim gold star printed on the lower, left, back side of the card. This star may be almost invisible to the naked eye. I had to photograph the card to even see the asterisk. If you own or purchase one of these cards, I recommend that you go to the Sony website and follow the instructions for verifying whether your card is affected or unaffected. Finally, I love my Sony products, Sony's tech support was outstanding, and the rep I spoke to last week was top-notch, but this was all somewhat confusing and a pain to sort out. I hope this information is helpful to all, and I would buy another one of these cards without hesitation.

The name says it all... Tough (SD cards)
4 June 2022

I've had to throw out a more than a few Sandisk and PNY SD cards after they delaminated, fell apart or would no longer settle into the card slot. This Sony Tough 64GB SD card works very well for still photography, for me. I have 5 of these cards and they have not failed me. As an event photographer the solid construction of these cards has me believing in them. They are also reasonably priced. The Sony Tough cards are it.

Tough as it's name suggest
21 December 2022

The design without the plastic retention clip on the side is great for longevity, it is something other manufacturers should consider. The card is very stiff and rigid compare to others that use plastic housing for the chiplets. My only complaint is the price, it quite expensive even with holiday sale going on.My only regret is not buying the G variant, since I take high speed photography and writing speed for this M variant is 150 MBs theoretically (halve that of the G).
