So I will start on the negative, got this to play on my PS4, I was aware that my PS4 didn't have Bluetooth audio capability, but what I was unaware of is that if you use the corded method for Audio, that the Microphone doesn't work. So that is a large issue for me because the games I play almost certainly require comms. Now I saw a couple reviews that the outside of the headset gets a crack within a week, so I've been careful with them and haven't noticed anything yet. So as long as your not rough when taking them off you should be good, and they've been through a couple drops and have been fine. The sound quality is awesome and the noise cancelling is great, they are well worth the price. This does not perform as I thought it would. I could have done due diligence but I was not aware these things could even be issues.Bluetooth has strong limitations. If I want to use the headphones to call someone, all other sounds are cut out. If I use the wire, the mic of the headphones do not work (why??). The wire provided is too short for my use case.Bluetooth needs to be quite close or the connection will cut every other moment briefly. On the positive side, these headphones are better than the other ones we had. The padding goes around your ear, directly on your head. I think the actual sound quality and bass are very good. The audio does leak a little at max volume which is unfortunate. The actual build quality of the headphones feel cheap and flimsy but they are somewhat comfortable, even when wearing headphones. One major complaint is the noise cancelling and ambiance mode do very minimal, I cant tell when theyre on or off because they do not work too well. The microphone quality is somewhat bad, it sounds like a very cheap microphone. It also is not too portable as they do not fold or come with a carrying case. Charging is very slow compared to other ones like Skullcandy Hesh ANC which is significantly cheaper.Summary: Outstanding Sound and bass. Mediocre noise cancelling and ambiance mode. I'm a nursing student currently in my 3rd year at university and I wanted to get wireless headphones for watching and re-watching lectures. I wanted something that had a wired and wireless option, had noise cancellation and ambience, were over-ear, and (most-importantly) didn't break the bank. I wasn't looking for the cream of the crop, just something that meets my needs. And these headphones do just that! They are very comfortable and very easy for my boomer brain to operate. The battery life is amazing, and you can use it wired if it randomly runs out (which is kinda unlikely if you're monitoring battery life). They meet my needs as a college student and do me well.Despite these things, I have some critiques. First, the ear pads are shallow so don't expect ... They meet my needs as a college student and do me well.Despite these things, I have some critiques. First, the ear pads are shallow so don't expect your ears to not touch the inside of the headphone. Second, the noise cancellation is okay, but it isn't the best. I used them while in a particularly chatty part of my campus's main library and I could still hear a considerable amount of sound. Granted they were doing renovations, but still, don't expect to hear absolutely nothing while in a noisy area. Third, it isn't as portable as other headphones. This Sony model can't fold in on itself like the Wh-1000xm 4, so if you are putting it in your backpack while commuting, know that it takes up a considerable amount of space, with or without a carrying case (which does not come with the headphones. you gotta buy them, also unlike the wh-1000xm 4)Overall, these headphones are a noteworthy option for a college student who is wanting a pair of headphones that does everything you need it to do without breaking the bank. Because this model is cheaper, there will be drawbacks and design changes, and it is certainly not as good as Sony's higher-priced models. It was never meant to be better, it was meant to be enough. And that is what this product is. Enough, and for me, more than enough.
I bought these headphones in December at Target. They have been great, and I used them daily. In the normal course of daily use, as I always did, I lifted the headphones to put on my head. Nothing different or rough or bigger head than usual or anything. But this time, as I put them on, the left earpiece just broke at the joint connecting it to headband. It didn't disconnect, but it just dangles there and could not be securely reattached. And now the sound doesn't work through that side either. As this is normal use, and the manufacturing quality should have them at least last the whole warranty year being used normally, they should have been replaced. However Sony said their warranty does not cover "physical damage." I would have thought that Sony, a huge company ... MoreI bought these headphones in December at Target. I would have thought that Sony, a huge company with a lot of money, would stand by the quality of their products if they break with normal use during the warranty period. Very disappointed.
After owning my Airpods for three years, I wanted to try buying headphones for a change. I was looking for good, sturdy, and also good quality black headphones. These checked all the boxes. After the first try when they arrived, I instantly loved them. The sound quality is very amazing. It feels like you have two loudspeakers in your ears and helps mute background noises. For a first-time headphone user, these are great. They are also much more affordable compared to the wh-1000xm4. What I liked:The color- Sound quality- Price- They feel lightweight on both your shoulders when not in use and head when they are in use- The battery lasted long Things that could be improved:- Although the sound quality is good, the noise canceling could work better- The ... I would rate this 4/5 stars. It’s a pretty good pair of standard headphones. I think you could find better Sony headphones but they would be more expensive. For the price, the quality is top-notch and durable.
Good Points: Great sound quality, depth and range.Easy to understand modes, functions etc but you DO need to read the manual which takes about 25 seconds, so.. 🤷♂️NC mode is between 7/10 and 9/10 depending on the volume and frequency of course e.g. the difference between the sound of a leaf blower and the sound of dogs barking etc. But overall I'd rate the NC function a solid 8 out of 10.Improvement Points: Build quality.I'm writing this review 10 months after purchasing these headphones to give as balanced and legitimate a review as possible.Major caveat though - I wear these for several hours almost EVERY SINGLE DAY. I fall asleep in them often.. they get used a lot while I'm working inside and out so do go through a variety of different environments. The ... For me it really isn't a deal-breaker though because this is wear and tear and cosmetic damage only. They function perfectly fine still.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First and foremost, the Sony Noise Canceling Headphones create an excellent sound experience while being extremely easy to use. They pair instantly with Bluetooth and even after listening to music at higher then average volume from sun-up until sun-down, still have plenty of battery at the end of the day.The headphones came with an easy to read users manual and charging cord, but without a block, or cube. I found this kind of odd coming from Sony, but luckily I have plenty of my own, so this did not inconvenience me.The headphones take approximately 6 hours to charge and last a long time, even with constant use. I found this kind of odd coming from Sony, but luckily I have plenty of my own, so this did not inconvenience me.The headphones take approximately 6 hours to charge and last a long time, even with constant use. The controls are simple and easy to use, making these an ideal purchase and great option for someone who isn't necessarily the most tech-savvy person on the block. At the same time, the headphones provide a superior sound experience without sacrificing features that even the most advanced users require and appreciate.I have had issues with other, similar headsets and earbuds dropping calls or causing interference with my music, which is something I have not experienced with my Sony Headphones. Regardless of where the sound source is originating from (music or calls from my phones, movies on the computer, replaying videos from my tablet, presentations from the projector, etc.) it comes through crystal clear and without fail, everytime. The noise canceling feature is unbeatable! Even without music playing it is almost impossible to hear someone next to me speaking. This was an important feature for me, since I travel often... I appreciate being able to rest while avoiding the interruptions of others working and chatting around me. This works both ways, since playing music at maximum volume cannot be heard while wearing the headset by those around me either. The headphones have an incredibly soft ear-foam that make them extremely comfortable to wear and they fold up to be packed away easily without taking valuable luggage space. The noise canceling headset would make a great option for teenagers whose music choices might not be your personal favorite, or as an option for homeschooled children to keep them focused without outside disturbances. Someone who travels and does not want to be bothered by noises around them, or those who want to keep what they are listening to private, would also benefit from these.All-in-all, I'm very pleased with my Sony Headphones purchase and I would definitely recommend these to my family and friends.
I need to wear noise cancelling headphones nearly 100 percent of the time when I am at home. As I am currently located right in front of an agri business with flexible work hours the sound of bulldozers pushing dirt around may begin as early as 5 am.While I had been a heavy user of headphones before here there is no good time to be without so versus gaming or working remotely ( as an early adapter so 13 years later I was able to help those not used to it on work- life balance ) the headphones in use stand a good chance of my falling asleep with them.As it is a need ( I have synesthesia so unexpected sound is a bit like taking a blender to my brain ) I try to have no fewer than two working good quality and a back up whatever is on sale not to expensive so I am ... The audio is still good but as a tight fit is vital to my needs this was a problem. In that time it outlasted a total of 3 ( 1 and 2 replacements ) of a brand primarily aimed at gamers which has a lot to say about durability and now my extended warranty with another retailer is not being honoured despite those ones having a 2 year manufacturer and add standard extended I am not there yet.I am probably a bit on the cranky side given the combination of both synesthesia and autism can make headphones invested in very life or death weight that may be fairly unique given auditory to visual field synesthesia is low incidence and the type I experience low incidence within it - I could be a set of one in how serious this is as a need )With it difficult to afford the kind some friends easily get funded I had modest expectations for these when they were on sale in the first Black Thursday of pandemic mode but they stood up exceptionally well .Their battery life may actually be underestimated which I have not seen in other electronics.Sound is good and while i used it mostly with computers that have additional audio programs when using it with my back up , is barely a computer device , the sound did not take that big a hit other than in nice to have personal streaming tuning but overall still great
I purchased my set of SONY CH710N headphones at Walmart for $107.61 on 10/18/22. They came without the carrying case or stand, just with a USB-C charging cable and a standard audio-jack cable (to connect to devices not having Bluetooth).Their weak point is the swivel joint that allows the earpieces to rotate 90 degrees to be parallel to the headband and so flatter for transport. This swivel joint broke after only about 6 months, which is perhaps why the headphones now come packaged with a carrying-case and (same under-designed swivel joint, just more protection against it breaking). I was able to epoxy the joint together but that earpiece now no longer rotates. The headphones still function just fine, but are no longer suitable for travel use.Apart from that ... I was able to epoxy the joint together but that earpiece now no longer rotates. The headphones still function just fine, but are no longer suitable for travel use.Apart from that joint, everything else works fine (wireless connection, internal mike, battery life, controls). I particularly appreciate the internal mike in conjunction with the wireless connection. It makes ZOOM conferences much easier not being tethered to the computer. The noise-canceling is only mediocre, so these headphones would likely be of little use on an airplane (something I never got a chance to test before the swivel joint broke). The newer version CH720N has a different swivel connection. Perhaps it is more robust.I would give the SONY CH710N headphones a 4 (recognizing the mediocre noise-canceling) or maybe even a 5 were it not for the under-designed swivel joint.
