Sony WI-1000XM2 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones (Silver)
The "high-quality noise canceling processor QN1" installed in the WH-1000XM3 is also installed in the neckband style. By enabling high-performance noise canceling processing, you can immerse yourself in high-quality sound without worrying about noise even in various environments. The noise collected by the two sensors (microphones) located on the outside and inside of the headphones and the player's music signal are all digitized. The DNC (Digital Noise Canceling) software engine integrates two methods of feedforward and feedback to generate highly accurate anti-phase sound that has the effect of canceling noise. Clearer music playback is now possible in a quieter environment. Supports a function that optimizes noise canceling performance according to changes in atmospheric pressure. It also provides a high quality noise canceling experience when used on an airplane. It is also possible to switch to "ambient sound (external sound capture) mode" where you can listen to the surrounding sounds while listening to music. It can also be used in scenes where you want to listen to music but want to pay attention to the surrounding sounds. It is equipped with technology that allows you to enjoy all kinds of music with high sound quality, from high-resolution sound sources to compressed sound sources. When connected to an LDAC compatible device, high-resolution content can be transmitted with up to about three times the amount of information of conventional Bluetooth Audio, so you can enjoy high-resolution content with sound quality that faithfully reproduces even the finest expressions of the original sound. Even if you do not have a high-resolution sound source or a high-resolution compatible terminal, you can enjoy high-resolution sound quality because it complements the high-frequency range of compressed sound sources such as CD sound sources and MP3s.

I needed this, to avoid purchasing $400-600 worth of helmet handsfree. Plus I wanted to fall asleep in them to some quality sounding music. It kinda works with the helmet on, but difficult to put on and off since headphones are not super-small, and not sitting very tight. They rub off and insulating rubbers get lost sometimes. I would love next edition to be shorter, flater so sleeping with these on, or putting mootrbike helmet on would be easier. Or perhaps insulator should have several flanges a-le Etympotic - those never come off. Secondly, sound quality is one star less than SONY WH-1000 series. They are not fully sounding, but clear enough, and have LDAC so high-resolution with proper equipment (Android LDAC, Fiio BTA30). I wish sony either improved design of pivoted simple light on-ear designs like those Walkman headphones I remember in the 90s - but LDAC and wireless Would buy in an instant, assuming they wont break if I fall alseep in them.

I already have a pair of the original WI-1000, so am putting my money where my mouth is. I mainly use these when walking in the city for exercise or when walking my dogs. The major plus point for me is the design where you can let one ear piece dangle if you want to be aware of the surroundings, have two dangling if you stop to talk to another doggy owner or lastly have both in your ear if you are travelling or want best sound quality. Much more convenient than ear pod devices where you run the risk of losing your kit.Sound quality is very good. Even with one ear piece in and background traffic noises, I can easily listen to pod casts or music. I haven’t traveled much since I got them, but noise cancelling seems good as does build quality and battery life. One ... MoreI already have a pair of the original WI-1000, so am putting my money where my mouth is. There is no longer a rigid neck band which makes the device easier to fold and store, but on the downside you can no longer wrap the wire into the neck. The wire is now much thicker, which I assume will be hard wearing and may well be in response to the new design.Better sound quality devices might be available, but for sheer practicality, these take a bit of beating. Would highly recommend.

Quite possibly the finest pair of headphones I've ever used. I have a slim head so tend to use earbuds rather than over ear, these cinch down well enough to stay firm even when jogging, during climbing and other similarly vigorous activities. The ear pads are comfortable even for long time use (I have multiple piercings that are usually aggravated by over ear headphones, these don't aggravate and feel cushioned and comfortable), whilst the battery life is phenomenal, in the few weeks I've owned them despite daily (3-5 hour) use I've only fully charged them twice and they remain on the 50-70% battery life mark throughout. The noise-cancelling is equally excellent, I work in a busy capital city travelling through some of the busiest stations and roadways daily, these ... MoreQuite possibly the finest pair of headphones I've ever used. All in all I find it hard to put any bad points on these. Perhaps the sole one would be the standard price point of around 350-400 BUT as my first foray into top-end headphones and these being noted as the best on TechRadar's 2018 list (besting the equivalentBose and even the more recent model of these same headphones) I was more than willing to pay out, it was certainly money well spent and they now travel with me everywhere.

-great bass and noice canceling capabilities; noice cancellation is always on by default and you would have to turn it off; does significantly decrease battery hours when on -nice design- ear pieces could have a stronger magnet or retractable technology or magnetic technology similar to that of the LG tone - device is easy to store; neckband is really flexible. I fall asleep with it a lot without realizing i have device on my neck -choose your own earbud tip cover- there are a variety of sizes -I got mine brand new for under $290. Shop and compare prizes before purchasing.
Very happy with this headset - slightly scratched as you would expect site a C rated product, but in perfect working state. However, the charging cable wasn’t working, I had to purchase a new one and the product hadn’t been cleaned (not even a wipe) I am very disappointed about these two points and have never had this kind of poor service when going directly in a CEX store.Online ordering should be as good as the service you get in store !!! all components should be working !
These earphones sound great -- especially when you deploy one of the EQ profiles in the Sony Headphones Connect app.Unfortunately, the product is unfit for phone calls. The onboard mic sounds terrible and callers will not be able to understand what you are saying.I even reached out to Sony technical support and, after talking me through re-pairing the headphones, confirmed the product was performing as expected -- which I was able to listen to for myself using a voice recording app on my iPhone XS. (I compared it to the phone's built-in mic, which sounds sensational, as do Apple's cheap-to-produce wired EarPods.)At this price point, there's no excuse for such a rubbishy microphone.
I bought these headphones less than a month ago from best buy. I was out with friends and the headphones got caught in a table crack not realizing what was caught I gently pulled, the entire earbud came off of the wire. These are 300 dollar headphones that were brand new. I'm incredibly disappointed at the quality of these headphones and with customer support. Under the year long warranty hardware defects are covered and 300 dollar headphones should be able to withstand some wear and tear from daily use. Normally I believe in the adage you get what you pay for which is why I bought these headphones believing that the high price and the Sony name would assure quality. I was clearly mistaken. I guess I should have chosen another brand.
I bought. the original WI-1000mx From Sony which had better battery like and actually vibrated when you received a call Those were defected and was separating from the metal neck piece. so I receive these WI-1000XM2 as a replacement within a couple of months I had connection issues the headset would randomly connect and disconnect from the headset but I thought maybe it was just software issues. Then the. headphones completely locked up and didn't or would connect to bluetooth period unless I put it on the charger for a couple of hours. The last straw now is that it started crackling and have a hissing sound in the left speakers when I called Sony they won't replace or exchange or give me a comp to get another pair. Absolutely love the design of these headphones. They sit comfortably around the neck and I've had no issues with the buds falling out of my ears. Pairing with my phone was a breeze and the Sony headphone app is easy to use with the ability to modify sound settings from within. They have been able to handle pretty much everything i have thrown at them although some music i listen to (Metal) sounded a little muffled compared to my WF-1000XM3 headphones (listening to the same tracks)All in all i love the fact that they rest around the neck so at least if the buds did fall out your safe in the knowledge that you will not lose them unlike the other headphones i have mentioned. If i was looking for some new headphones i would be very happy with these although at this ... MoreAbsolutely love the design of these headphones. I have had these for a short time now and have been very happy with them. I did wonder about the two parts that sit on the shoulders but I have found them to be very comfortable. The build quality is very good and I like the additional ear pieces that come with the headphones. I used these with my mobile phone through Bluetooth and found the range was excellent. I started by leaving my phone in the living room then went out to the hall then into the kitchen with no loss of signal so I then went out to the garden with no loss of signal. It was only when I went into the garden shed that the signal started to break up so the range is really good. I like the carrying case that is supplied so they can be transported easily. The noise cancelling feature is excellent as I was using them my wife started to speak to me but I couldn't hear a word she was saying. The background noise is suppressed very well. Overall I am very satisfied with these headphones and would recommend them as my daughter has a set by another manufacturer but they cost more than double the cost of the Sony set.
