Disclaimer: I didn't purchase this from Headphonezone. I got it directly from Sony Center for 7.90K. But I love this piece so much, that I just wanted to write a review.Firstly, noise cancellation works amazing for the price. It obviously won't be on par with Sony's more expensive flagship products (like the WF/WH-1000XM5). But it certainly doesn't feel like a passive, generic hum like its predecessor or the WF-SP800N (which I also own). If you want to experience what Sony's true active noise cancellation feels like (without spending upwards of 15K or 20K), these headphones are a must buy. What's really really extraordinary about these headphones is the sound quality. Audiophiles and not-so-crazy bassheads would absolutely love the really high-quality, crystal clear soundstage. Out of the box, these have a balanced to slightly warm sound signature, but you can tweak the audio to your liking through the Sony Headphones Connect app. The bass is more than adequate once set to the max. Hardcore bassheads that demand super-punchy low-end, however, may not be satisfied (the WH-XB910N would be a better option for them). And don't even get me started on battery life. The battery just lasts forever, even with noise cancellation on. I purchased these 2-3 months back, and I have literally only charged them once or twice.Perhaps only one of the cons about these headphones is that when you're connected to a device with the AUX cable, the sound quality is not that great. To get the high-quality sound that these headphones offer, you need to switch them on and connect via Bluetooth. Also, if you're buying these headphones only for meetings and conferences on Windows laptops/PCs, you probably should stay away from them, as evident in another review. Wireless Bluetooth headphones like these are not designed or optimized for meetings/conferences (unless stated explicitly). Personally, I feel wired headphones with an in-line mic are better suited for calls on laptops and PCs. So you should keep this in mind before buying them. All in all, the noise cancellation feels like Sony's true noise cancellation, the sound quality and battery life are top-notch, and the comfort level is really good too. If you wear any over-the-ear headphone for too long, there is a tendency of sweat accumulation. This is not really a design flaw, it's just how headphones work in the hot climate of India. If you don't want sweat, you should probably move to Northern cold countries (like Canada or the Nordics).

These headphones are incredible! I got them while they were on sale for $120, and they were so worth the money. I had new neighbors move in, and they were so loud at night and during the day (I telework most days) and I was becoming miserable because they made focusing on work hard and at night were messing with my sleep schedule. I tried lots of things to resolve the issue (my air pods, white noise okay night, silicone ear plugs, etc.), but nothing seemed to help, either it would help with higher frequency sounds like their voices, or it would help with lower sounds like the bass of their TV/speaker, but not both. I got these headphones as a last resort, and they are amazing! They were being super loud the other day, I put these on, turned on ANC, and couldn’t hear ... MoreThese headphones are incredible! I got these headphones as a last resort, and they are amazing! They were being super loud the other day, I put these on, turned on ANC, and couldn’t hear them at all. Even without playing music! My roommates also have Fridays off (I unfortunately don’t), and sometimes could be distracting from work even with my door closed, I wore these one Friday morning and didn’t even realize they were both awake and in the kitchen (with my bedroom door wide open) till I took the headphones off! Absolutely amazing! Now the downsides/reason for 4 out of 5 stars? For one, the bass on these is super boosted (granted that’s in the name), however you can adjust that in the app so that’s not much of an issue honestly. The real downside is these are a tad large/better for larger heads, they’re not the comfiest (they can kinda hurt the top of your head over time, but I find I can fix this if I put a scrunchy or something cushiony on my head under the part that rests on the top of my head), and they’re also kinda ugly (honestly might just be my opinion, they’re def not as cute as the Apple ones or Bose ones). However I don’t plan to wear them out, so honestly all those things I don’t mind, it would just be things to be aware of! Also probably not the best for the gym if you have a small head, they’d probably fall off with certain movements. Additionally the microphone is actually very good, as long as you have ANC activated, otherwise I have been told it sounds like someone is crinkling a wrapper constantly in the background. But overall, if you are dealing with loud neighbors, telework in a noisy situation, etc. these are amazing (just maybe wait for them to go back on sale again)!

Overall I really like these headphones, but their low build quality, lack of a carry case, and functional but otherwise unimpressive ANC make me wish I hadn't paid for the Sony name and that I had instead went with different headphones that do the same things better at a lower price. For most people, I recommend doing just that - find a cheaper alternative.Comfort is 3/5. Earcup pads and headband are super soft, not a lot of clamping pressure but just enough to get a good seal around the ears. The earcups are shallow but otherwise a good size. Due to the shallow earcups, the plastic parts of the driver will sometimes rub my ears through the mesh screen of the earcup, which is very uncomfortable.Sound quality is 3/5 with default out of the box settings, but goes ... By default the bass is very muddy.Active noise cancelation gets a 3/5. It works fine, but there is plenty of room for improvement and won't blow your socks off. Same with transparency mode.Build and materials quality comes in at 2/5. Such low weight comes at a cost, and the cost is here. Flimsy, cheap, low-quality plastic construction. These headphones need to be handled gently to avoid breaking them.Features and connectivity gets 4/5. Being able to connect to 2 Bluetooth devices at the same time is cool and can be very helpful. The BT connections have been very reliable for me. Having a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired use is great to have. The app has lots of EQ customization (which is very much necessary) and also gives controls for ANC on/off and customizing how strong transparency mode is. Unfortunately, the earcups don't fold in to make the headphones smaller for travel.Battery life is 5/5. I love how long the battery lasts. I've listened to music and movies for close to 20 hours with a mix of ANC on and off, and the battery is around 50-60%.

I got these at the beginning of the year - so maybe 8 months ago - after my puppy ate my Beats. The beats were fine but they would make my ears really sweaty from the cushioning and sometimes my curly hair would get trapped in the outside seam and pull out some strands, so I was looking for some different headphones, preferably cheaper ones.I saw these and saw the good reviews - great price point for noise cancelling yada yada. Something i thought was strange though was that it was meant for "Apple and Android devices." I thought: how could head phones only be for these specific OS products? Here is what I don't see anyone talking about when they review these: you have to have this app for the full noise cancelling functionality to work. I thought: how could head phones only be for these specific OS products? Here is what I don't see anyone talking about when they review these: you have to have this app for the full noise cancelling functionality to work. And for the life of me, it is such a terrible app. UI looks awful, and the worst part is even if your headphones have connected to your bluetooth, if you don't go in and click 'connect' it will kick you out of whatever you're listening to after 10 seconds. This to me is the most frustrating parts of wireless headphones. Getting ready to exercise or do a task, starting your song, and then getting hit with the "unpaired noise" and completing stopping your song or podcast. It's happened so many times and it is sooooo annoying. Sometimes it behaves nice and connects with no problem, and sometimes im staring at the UI waiting for it to connect. I don't think the functionality the app provides is worth having when the app itself is so badly designed.Funny thing is when ive connected them wirelessly to my computer with bluetooth, it connects off the rip. When ive deleted the app off my phone, the headphones wouldnt connect. So yes as headphones they're really not bad. Battery life is amazing on these and the sound quality really isnt bad either but wow the disconnecting thing is insanely frustrating
So I bought these headphones during black friday, and ended up getting them for 100$, which I found to be a great deal. Flat out, you get what you pay for. I think these headphones are great for your average user but for the more techcentric and audiophile oriented people these headphones can be seen as a little lacking. Comfortability, wearing these for around an hour or two is fine, although depending on your ear size the plastic part near your ear may cause some discomfort but I think that realistically goes for any over the ear headphone especially for this price range. The biggest selling point for these headphones I would have to say is the noise cancelling. I think the noice cancelling on these headphones is alright. Not amazing as at times I can still notice ... The biggest selling point for these headphones I would have to say is the noise cancelling. I think the noice cancelling on these headphones is alright. Not amazing as at times I can still notice backgroud noise if I focus on listening for it. But if Im not focused on it and just doing work theyre great to keep the background noise to a minimum. I think the best part of this purchase is the app that sony has dedicated to their headphones and ear phones. It allows pairing to two devices at one time (which I find super useful) and the trabsition between devices is seamless. There is also the option to rework your buttons for noice cancelling and a transparency mode. Soeaking of transparency it is also okay as its not the best but it still works fine. The one qualm I have with these headphones is the microphone, though with any bluetooth headphones, I usualy suspect the microphone to not be great. Ive usually been told when I speak with a normal tone I sound a little quiet or muffled on the other end. Which leads to me having to speak a little louder than usual, where I end up just switching to talking on my phone because I would rather not be loud in public spaces. Overall these headphones I think are great for entry level users especially if you can get these on sale!
I’ve been wanting a noise cancelling headset for some time “have buds but not a headset” and saw that Sonly came out with the WHCH720N Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones and wanted to give them a try.Unboxing and setting up:The headphones came in a nice Sony logoed box, very simple and recyclable, including a “very short USB C charging cable, an audio passthrough cable and instructions, “they kept it simple”.I installed the “Sony Headphones Connect” app on my S22Ultra and paired up the headphones “I did charge it first”, and the phone automatically found them and connected without a hitch. MoreI’ve been wanting a noise cancelling headset for some time “have buds but not a headset” and saw that Sonly came out with the WHCH720N Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones and wanted to give them a try.Unboxing and setting up:The headphones came in a nice Sony logoed box, very simple and recyclable, including a “very short USB C charging cable, an audio passthrough cable and instructions, “they kept it simple”.I installed the “Sony Headphones Connect” app on my S22Ultra and paired up the headphones “I did charge it first”, and the phone automatically found them and connected without a hitch. The app immediately popped up an alert stating that an update for the headphones was available, so I let that run before doing anything else.I was surprised with how many settings there are in the app itself, there’s even a portion of it for the 360degree sound function that has you take a picture of your ear “sort of strange” but well explained as to why. There’s also a lot of settings for the noise cancelling and how the headset will adjust the level of ambient noise that comes through depending on the environment you are in or you can take complete manual control.Using:I was very surprised just how light these are “right around 6.5oz”, which is way lighter than the A40s I have which are 14oz and so heavy I don’t use them very much, we also have Marshall Major IIs “on ear” and Audio Technica ATHM50XBTs, the weight is close to the 6.2oz of the Marshalls and lighter than the 10.5oz of the A/Ts. The ear cushions are very padded and soft, just the right amount of padding “for me”. Fortunately, the power/pairing button are on the left side while the rest of the controls are on the right side, this helps keep from hitting the power button accidentally. Now for sound quality, I’ll be comparing them to the Marshalls and the A/Ts. And as far as sound quality is concerned while using Bluetooth and the Sony app, you can tweak the Sony’s to sound better than of the other two, the Marshalls just don’t have the bass and the A/T while sounding great have no way to adjust the sound the way you like it plus neither have sound cancelling. As far as the sound cancelling go I was/am amazed how well it works, and when it’s enabled with no ambient sound allowed to pass through you will want to make sure your in an environment that you don’t need to hear what’s going on around you as you will barely be able to hear anything around you even with nothing playing in the background and if you have music playing you can pretty much forget hearing anything else. It’s pretty cool that it automatically sets the sound pass through when I go out for my neighborhood walk in the evening and it’s easy to hear oncoming vehicles or carry on a conversation with a neighbor without having to take the headset off, “neighbor was pretty impressed too”.I also tried out the built in Alexa and that works well, and the same as using one of the small Echo Dots, just say Alexa and then your command. We have some of our lamps hooked to smart switches and it was easy to turn them on/off with the headset. Can also ask to play music or and anything else you would ask your Alexa device to do, “well done Sony”Conclusion:If you want a really good set of “Over the Ear” headphones that have great sound cancelling capabilities along with a lot more features than most other headphones I’d look strongly at the WHCH720N’s. They are light, very comfortable, the sound is great once you tweak it to where you like “the App has a full equalizer” and lasts a very long time on battery “still at 60% after many hours of use between music, movies and making calls. Distance wise I was able to walk around our house and easily walked a good 40' away before there was any connection loss. I tested this while they were connected to my S22 Ultra. The only thing that I can find negative about these is the super short charging cable that’s included. I tossed that in my cable box and use my standard USB C long charging cable I use for my tablet.
Really great value for the pricepoint (I think I got them for $99 on sale). Bought these for work since my home setup is Apple-only. Pairs with my office laptop (Dell) flawlessly every single time - which was my number one concern. (I haven't tried switching them back and forth, so I can't speak to that.)Sound and mic are both decent (not studio quality by any means, but fine for Spotify and Microsoft Teams, which is all I use them for) and the controls are reasonably intuitive (pressing the power button gives you a nice spoken battery percentage, and the volume + play/pause buttons are hard to tell apart, but you get used to it).I also give these high marks for convenience. Noise cancelling is pretty robust; it works well in a busy office, and they're comfortable enough to wear for an hour or two at a time (they are heavy enough that you know they're there, though - I don't know that I'd wear them for hours and hours on end uninterrupted). But what really surprised me is range and battery life. I only have to charge them maybe once a week with intermittent usage throughout the day, they charge really quickly, and the range is good enough that I can get up and walk to get a cup of coffee from the break room (approx 50 feet / two walls away) no problem.
These are the first nice pair of headphones I've ever purchased and I can easily say I don't regret it! I wasn't ready to drop $350 on the newer/nicer model, but I truly don't feel like I'm missing anything with these ones. They fit my smaller head well without hurting, they have decent noise cancellation (that wasn't one of my main concerns so I didn't need it to be the absolute best, I can still definitely tell a difference when I activate the noise cancelling with these) and the sound quality is amazing! I was debating between these and a few JBL pairs, and the associate in-store recommended the Sony brand overall and I can see why. I also particularly like the app that goes with the headphones, I've tried out the beta EQ test thing to see what my sound preferences are and make a custom EQ setting, and WOW has it made a difference! Paring is easy, battery life is normal and definitely good enough for my daily but casual usage, and the buttons are all easy to find/press while wearing the headphones. They are light but sturdy, and feel very sleek. My only fault is that they don't come with a case, but I will be buying one soon to keep them protected. Overall a great purchase and if you aren't needing the absolute best sound quality or noise cancellation, these are the best option for you!
The headphones were bought as a Christmas present from my Son. To be honest I haven’t had them off my head any chance I get I use them I do 👍👍 okay they are not Sony’s flag ship headphones but they do have the same chip as Sony’s higher end headphones the features through the app are great preset equaliser's and customisable equaliser’s. The noise cancelling for me is great and the actual sound quality of the headphones is excellent. They have large ear pads which will accommodate any ear. They are only I believe 192grams in weight so are extremely light weight the ear pad cushions are soft and feel great on the ears so you can wear them for long periods of time with no problems. A friend of mine bought some when they first hit the market and found an issue of the Bluetooth disconnecting every so often he did a factory reset and that solved the disconnect issue. There is a firmware upgrade but mine are already up to date. To reset them just hold down the power button at the same time as the pause/play button on the headphones for around 10 to 12 seconds the green led will flash a few times job done. All in all they are great headphones I could go on but there are so many features it seems endless. In my experience these are fantastic quality and the sound is great hope this review helps 👍👍😀😀😀😀😀😀
I have been using these headphones for just a week now and in such a short time I can say how wonderful these are for me.I have tried two other headphones from other manufacturers before, and they don't impress me like these have.First of all is the statement of them being over-ear unlike others these actually do fit over my ears others sit on them regardless of their statements (unless small child ears of course).Battery life, so it's been 7 days and I've either worn them for listening to music or watching YouTube videos and also gaming on my laptop altogether I'm fairly sure I've got over 40 hours out of them and that's with the noise reduction being turned on (by default). So up to 35 hours is very conservative on its estimate. As for the noise cancelling, ... So up to 35 hours is very conservative on its estimate. As for the noise cancelling, I have been listening to music and YouTube whilst the TV was on and I can definitely say it reduces the sound considerably (to a muffled noise), In fact, my partner has to tap me now as I can't hear her even when she's sitting right next to me. It's not perfect but these are entry-level headphones, so very good for what they are.I do love the power button being on the charging side, unlike the others. the small downside is getting used to the noises it makes when you turn it on and off and when you connect it to Bluetooth, shame they aren't voice statements. But I do appreciate they don't have a permanent light draining the battery more.Overall the fit is flexible enough, shame they don't fold down better for travelling, but you can't have perfection in everything I suppose. One curiosity is the statement that its frequency response is 7hz to 20khz, (which is very good) but only whilst fitted by cable so what's it like through Bluetooth one wonders. guess that depends on the source's Bluetooth ability.Lastly the central button between the volume buttons, it's not intuitive to find as it's weird feeling behind your ear to get to it., but maybe over time it will become easier to deal with.P.S. The blue light on the photo is the Bluetooth blinking it doesn't stay on when connected.
