The high-end Sony Xperia 1 IV 256GB Purple 5G is suitable for intensive use. You can effortlessly use the smartphone for demanding tasks like image editing and 3D games. On the razor-sharp 6.5-inch 4K screen, you can see all the details of your games and videos. Because the screen is elongated, you won't see black bars while watching a movie. This elongated shape is different than with most smartphones, so this is something you have to get used to when you hold the Sony Xperia 1 IV. With the cameras on the back, you can take razor-sharp photos. Thanks to the telephoto lens, you can even zoom up to 5 times without your photos or 4K videos becoming less sharp. You can save all your photos, apps, and music on the large 256GB storage. You can expand this with a memory card of up to 1TB. The large 5000mAh battery lasts an entire day with average use. The box doesn't include a charger and USB-C cable. Use your own accessories to charge or purchase them separately. Note: the box doesn't include an adapter and USB-C cable. Use your own accessories or purchase them separately.

My last 3 phones have all been Sony's top of the line model and I can hands down say that the mark 4 (IV) is a massive upgrade. The camera and the photo pro app is exceptional. The design is perfect. The 4K screen seems to have gotten even better and gets significantly brighter than the previous gen model. For me the other big improvement is in battery life. Lasts an entire day with absolutely no fear of running out of battery. Some people may even get two days out of it if they avoid heavy usage . Bought the product a month ago, so far it has performed exceptionally well!Superb photo images, really crystal clearBattery lasts longer than I thought it would with quite heavy usage, photos, calls, general use!It feels robust and a bit heavy but reassuringly heavy!I'm not sure how to turn it off, it's supposed to be power and volume but maybe it's me I've asked Sony and hopefully they'll get back to me on how to do it!Charging is not particularly fast, I do it overnight anyway but I think it takes a few hours, I'm not using an official charger or a short cable, it's actually an extra long cable so this might effect the charge time. It's a beautiful colour (Purple) but I purchased a cover anyway so I can't see the phone's colour anymore. The sound from ... MoreBought the product a month ago, so far it has performed exceptionally well!Superb photo images, really crystal clearBattery lasts longer than I thought it would with quite heavy usage, photos, calls, general use!It feels robust and a bit heavy but reassuringly heavy!I'm not sure how to turn it off, it's supposed to be power and volume but maybe it's me I've asked Sony and hopefully they'll get back to me on how to do it!Charging is not particularly fast, I do it overnight anyway but I think it takes a few hours, I'm not using an official charger or a short cable, it's actually an extra long cable so this might effect the charge time. It's a beautiful colour (Purple) but I purchased a cover anyway so I can't see the phone's colour anymore. The sound from songs is actually superb, excellent infarct and video resolution I would say is broadcast quality.I'm not a tech expert or a mobile fanatic I usually keep my phones for 2 to 3 years and with the processor speed of this Sony Xperia I don't think it'll go out of favour for a while. It's just upgraded to Android 13 and since that upgrade I think the battery is lasting a bit longer.Overall a great looking and performing phone.I paid over £1000 for it but I supposed that's the going rate now for a mobile phone!Oh I nearly forgot to mention, the finger print ID is brilliant register a good print on the phone then when you have to use it for accessing sites on line, the ID works so well, you hardly have to touch the finger scanner and it picks up your print!

Excellent Camera (pretending to be a phone)

I have owned this phone for a month now, and compared to my previous device the difference is night and day.The 3 cameras are excellent, and as a Sony mirrorless camera user, I appreciate the app that uses the same icons and shares many features.I have found the device to be stable and not had any issues with crashing or overheating. The phone updated straight to Android 13 when i set it up and the user interface is simple, fast and clean, with minimal bloat.I have appreciated small features like the dialer warning when an incoming number is a known scam number, and the search not only searching contacts, but also local businesses. The slighlty narrower aspect ratio of the device make it easier to hold and use with one hand, and I like the lack of punch ... MoreI have owned this phone for a month now, and compared to my previous device the difference is night and day.The 3 cameras are excellent, and as a Sony mirrorless camera user, I appreciate the app that uses the same icons and shares many features.I have found the device to be stable and not had any issues with crashing or overheating. The phone updated straight to Android 13 when i set it up and the user interface is simple, fast and clean, with minimal bloat.I have appreciated small features like the dialer warning when an incoming number is a known scam number, and the search not only searching contacts, but also local businesses. The slighlty narrower aspect ratio of the device make it easier to hold and use with one hand, and I like the lack of punch holes or notches in the display. The flat screen is also a bonus as screen protectors fit better. The power button houses the finger print sensor, and after a couple of days getting used to it, I now wonder why all phones don't use this for authentication, it just seems more natural than stabbing at the screen, and your finger doesn't finish up obscuring the display.Overall I am very happy with the device

Great phone, outstanding camera

I got this on an upgrade last month and am very happy with it so far. The dedicated camera app (Photography Pro) is really easy to use and I've been able to take some great photos; the true optical zoom is excellent; although the optical zoom range is a bit limited.Watching Netflix content in HDR fully utilises the 21:9 aspect ratio tooThe speakers when watching a film or gaming are really clear. The screen is easy enough to view outdoors.Within the camera app you can set it to Auto and allow it to do everything like other smartphones or you can use the other modes and take some truly astonishing picturesThe only bugbear is that when recording 4k 120fps you cannot record onto the micro SD card even though I have a UHS 1 A2 V30 spec card in the phone. It's ... MoreI got this on an upgrade last month and am very happy with it so far. Micro SD, Stereo Speakers, 4k 120hz Display, HSPC!
7 January 2023

Epic conjuring of features like no other Mobile Phone maker.Micro SD card support, Stereo Speakers, 4k 120hz display, HSPC for Gaming.Obviously great photography, even in BASIC mode.Low Light photography is a weakness compared to other 2022 Flagship Phones. However, the real life film like quality of daytime photography is outstanding. The 4k 30fps image stabilization is excellent. Photos have a real-life quality not seen on other flagships. Also a real Physical Camera Shutter Button makes a huge difference to Photography experience. It's close that what LG would be making in 2022 if they still made phones. God Bless Sony for staying true to its goals.

Love the stock feel, but would like to be able to tinker a bit more.I have not personally experienced any overheating issues, as others have reported. I wouldn't want to record in 4K for an extended period of time, so this seems like a non-issue to me anyway. Even under heavy usage, the phone stays cool.

What can I say and where shall I begin!I have had this phone for a month now after upgrading from my Sony Xperia 5 II and what an upgrade. The first thing I noticed once I set everything up is how much clearer and sharper everything is on the display, from images to videos, apps to games there is such a noticeable difference. The sound quality is also far more superior than the Xperia 5 II bringing in a crisper clearer sound and the volume is also louder. The size of the phone is a little bigger than what I normally prefer but it seams that all phones are getting bigger but once you start using it you forget quite easily the size difference, if you want a phone that offers an amazing camera and unlimited features within if don't look any further as once you get into the camera or video features you quite easily forget you are using a phone. As I stated I have only been using it now for a month and I am still getting to grips with all the phone has to offer but so far so good and well done again to Sony for the upgrades and improvements.

The Best Kept Secret

This is my second Xperia 1 as I had a mk2 before this mk4.Both have been superb with the obvious improvement with newer model being useful and worthwhile, rather than the hype you often see.I was a little worried about swapping from another major brand (that I shall not name) but I’m so glad I did. The Sony phones are truly exceptional. Build quality & hardware are excellent. Software wise, there’s a very stock android experience with a few really useful additions (like the excellent Camera Pro, Video Pro and Cinema Pro) but none of the bloat that many manufacturers insist on.The cameras are really good, especially if you are a photographer or keen on keeping control yourself. There is an automatic mode but it’s the pro mode where things really come to life. ... MoreThis is my second Xperia 1 as I had a mk2 before this mk4.Both have been superb with the obvious improvement with newer model being useful and worthwhile, rather than the hype you often see.I was a little worried about swapping from another major brand (that I shall not name) but I’m so glad I did. There is an automatic mode but it’s the pro mode where things really come to life. You can take full control with an interface similar to what you get on a DSLR. This gives you the opportunity to really experiment, even being able to save photos as RAW files to give you the fullest image data for later processing if you want, or you can let the camera do it itself. The JPG files it produces are nice, and much more natural than most phones turn out.Another huge benefit is the 3.5mm audio Jack. Most phones these days don’t have them, expecting you to rely on Bluetooth headsets. You can still do this but the option is there to use higher quality wired headphones. You can also use a 3rd party app like USB Audio Pro to avoid the limitations of Android and take full advantage of the very capable DAC in the 1 mk iv.Overall this is a stunning looking piece of technical wizardry that you should seriously consider if you’re looking for a flagship device, especially if you love photography and/or music.
