Sleep has become an increasing issue for me in perimenopause, and Magnesium L-Threonate has been a huge component in my sleep journey. I don't take the full dose (2/3), but combined with L-Theanine, it has made a long-term and noticeable difference in both my ability to stay asleep and in my sleep quality. This supplement is a significant investment (both my husband and I take it, so a bottle doesn't last super long) but one that is worth every cent. Also a huge fan of the Source Naturals brand; I know I'm getting an excellent product.

A lovely magnesium, and the first Mg Threonate that I have ever tried. I usually purchase Mg Glycinate as it is at a bit of a more affordable price point, but thought I would give this a try. While this is a lovely product, I can't say that I really noticed any difference between the effects of the Threonate form versus the Glycinate form for me personally, so I think I will stick to the Glycinate form in the future to save money. Source Naturals is an excellent brand whom I will definitely repurchase from, just not this product when I can get the same effect for less.
This type of magnesium crosses the blood-brain barrier. Great on days when I'm tired, underslept, or my mind is foggy - it helps me concentration and focus. Also, super easy to digest so I use it on days I train, as on those I require a higher dose. I think this is a good company and haven't had any perceived issues with quality. I plan to repurchase, this is the best value for money by far (as far as the reputable brands are considered.... there is one cheaper with "Nutri..." but issues with other products of theirs are steering me clear of em).
I wrote a review for the NOW brand of Magnesium L-Threonate as it worked really well for my sleep issue in conjunction with the other supplements, L-Theanine, Inositol and Apigenin that form the basis of Dr Hubermann's sleep protocol. This Magnesium L-Threonate just doesn't seem to have the same mojo for me. The pricing was lower however for the quantity which is why I chose it. Comparing the labels it appears that there's an extra few percent of total magnesium in this brand but I wonder why they have included Magnesium Stearate in the main ingredient list with the Threonate, as the source of the magnesium. This is different to the NOW labelling. I thought Stearate was generally in the non active ingredients list or related to the capsule?
This Source Naturals Magtein Magnesium L-Threonate has maltodextrin in it, thus 1 star. I don't know where they came up with the 667mg amount, because 1 serving (once a day), is 3 capsules and is 147mg of magnesium L-threonate/magnesium stearate and 2g of Magtein (magnesium L-threonate). I bought a different brand with way cleaner ingredients, for 2 cents per capsule cheaper. I would say the brand, but I don't know if it will get my review deleted. I want people to know about the maltodextrin being in this product. This Magtein did help my memory function, just wanted a cleaner product.
